Chapter one-The Alliance
Princess, Princess please wake up you have been summoned by the Queen " I heard a maid voice calling me outside my room door. Opening my eyes I yawned and informed her to let the Queen know that I would be with her shortly.
My name is Princess Iris Geiger,the crown princess of Mgbidifina but now I am merely but a servent in my own kingdom while my cousin sister Lena enjoys all the privilege of a prince. Well I still wonder why my Aunt( present Queen Neville) hasn't proclaimed her daughter my position as the crown princess yet even after turning me into a servent or she she afraid the people will turn against her or is there another reason behind this.Before completely getting lost in my thoughts I quickly put on my clothes and dashed out of my bedroom to answer my wicked Aunt before I will be punished again for delaying and wasting her precious time according to her.
Getting to the throne room I kept hearing voices of people's argument " what are they arguing this time around I asked myself not knowing that my life was going to change the moment I walk through that door"
Oh my dear neice has finally arrived,you look so beautiful today! please come and sit with me, we were just discussing about your marriage "! exclaimed my Aunt the moment she saw me. ooh come on not this again, I always wonder how she manages to act so loving and cheerful towards me when people are around and instantly changes when there is no one around, I so much hate her. Wait! What!!? Marriage!!! Me!!!? I asked no one in particular.At my exclamation everyone kept quiet and was just staring at me."Yes my dear you are getting married to king livius first son Melios" said my Aunt with a sinister smile
" Impossible you can't ask me to get married to them!! you know we have been enemies with them since the beginning of time " I shouted
Oh come on my dear child you know you are the crown princess of this kingdom and as such you owe the kingdom a responsibility and by marrying into the Nephilim(serpent kingdom) we will form a peace treaty with them and we can no longer be at war with each other and save ourselves the agony of loosing our citizens; Oh please my child look at the brighter side of this alliance " responded my Aunt with a mischievous smile lurking on her face.I wonder if I am the only one who can see through her facade.
Nothing good is ever going to come out of this alliance and if you think it is very important then you can let Lena get married to Melios besides we are both princesses right? I responded back.
Shut up you insolent child I decide who you are to get married to and my decision is final!! shouted my Aunt in anger
You alone can't decide who I am to get married to and besides you are just an acting queen until I am fully of age to take over the throne!! oh I see so you want me married off so no one can stand between you and the throne isn't it? I replied back fuming
You ungrateful child how dare you talk back at me in that manner!!?she was about giving me a slap when one of the elders his throat and spoke " Queen Neville please refrain your anger, she is not totally wrong because you alone cannot decide who she is to get married to because we the elders and councils also have a say in the matter" said elder Idris.Chief elder Idris is my favorite elder among all, him and few others are the only ones who still supports me despite all the corruption going on in the court.
