Chapter Three

1153 Words
“Well done Miss Linton.” Mr Norman said as soon as he was finish eyeing what felt like the hundredth design. Finally, finally he approves of something. Bloody wanker. It's about Goddamn time! “You may take your leave now Miss Linton,” he says, placing my design in the top drawer of his desk before softly closing it shut. I gave him a thankful smile before walking into my office to retrieve my bag. I switch off the lights then walk back into his office just in time to see him getting ready to leave also. “I'm going now sir.” I told him, tapping my hands on the wall beside the door. “And how do you plan on reaching home Miss Linton?” “By transportation sir.” “What transportation Miss Linton?" He asked, his thick black brows furrowed together which means he was getting annoyed. “Well it cannot be a plane or a train sir, and since the bus is not running at this time of the night then I guess the transportation that I'm referring to would be a car......sir,” I added lazily. Buttoning the middle button on his Armani suit, Mr Norman slowly turns around to face me with his hands in his pockets. “Did you just answer my question with sarcasm Miss Linton?” Faking a gasp, I place my free hand on my chest, pretending as if he had wounded me and my intelligence. “Me? I wouldn't dear sir.” Raising a perfectly well arched brow at me, he removes one of his hands from his pocket then grab his briefcase from his desk, walking past me without saying a word. By the time I catched up with him, he was already in the elevator and the doors were just about to close. “Thank you for holding the door for me sir.” I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes once I was inside. “It was my pleasure Miss Linton.” Bellend! (d**k) “Back to this transportation that you speak of, where is it?” He questioned after a moment of silence, turning his head to face me. “Well sir, a friend of mine that lives on my apartment building works a few minutes away so once I'm outside then I will call her to come get me.” “Why wait until your outside?” “Sir?” I asked a little confused. He lets out a sigh. “Why wait until your outside before you call her miss linton?” hmmm, good question. “You do know what time it is right? I mean you have been doing so much thinking all day that I would assume you would of continued to think just how dangerous these streets are at night." he lets out his frustration, sounding oddly sincere about my safety and well being. “Sir I'm pretty sur-” The elevator door opens just in time, cutting me off. He took a quick glance at me with furrowed brows then shook his head before stepping out into the lobby and head straight for the door. I followed shortly after, regretting not bringing a sweater with me as soon as the cold breeze pinch my skin. Looking around the dark and windy street, Mr Norman was nowhere to be seen so I was basically the only person standing in front of the building with a frown on my face. “Why didn't you call your friend before? No wonder he thinks your a complete idiot.” I scowled myself. Taking a second look around the dark and lonely street, I started digging up my bag for my phone while muttering unlady like words under my breath. “Ah ahhh” I said aloud as soon as I found it. I quickly begun to dial Linsey's number when suddenly my phone was snatched from my hands. “What da hell!” I screeched, angrily looking up to see Mr Norman staring down at me strangely. “What is wrong with you Miss Linton?” He questioned in annoyance while scanning my face as though the answers were plastered there. "Are you so caught up in your own little world that you did not hear when I signal you with the car horn?" He asked, pointing to the car that was indeed there. Letting out a sheepish laugh, I rock my body back and forth on the heel of my shoes, feeling like a complete and utter fool. “Sorry sir, I was a little.....occupied.” I mumbled which only made him scoff at my lame response then without waiting a second longer, grab me by the arm, dragging me across the road towards the car that stood out in the shadows. “Sir slow down.” I breathe out as he continues to walk briskly across the road while I stumble along, trying my hardest to catch my breath and my balance. As soon as we reach the car, he opens the door and place me in it. And when I say place me in it, I mean he literally scoop me into his arms and not so gently, deposits me into the car as though I was nothing but his puppet on a string. “Oh wow sir, please do continue to treat me like your rag doll.” I threw my hands up in the air. Exasperated by this man and his bloody attitude. “Just be glad I didn't put you over my shoulders Miss Linton.” He replies once he was inside. His voice sounding deep and husky and quite erotic if I must add. Pushing my head further against the window, my breath hitch in the back of my throat when he leant his upper body forward and slowly buckle me up. Perfect pink dusty lips touching the side of my face. God, I'm never washing that side of my face ever. “We wouldn't want you to get away now would we Rosalie?” He purposely taunts me while whispering my name for the first time. His hot minty breath tickles my neck. A sigh of contentment almost leaving my body. Letting out an amuse chuckle once he finally pulled away and saw my face which was probably red from embarrassment, he starts up the car then turn his head to face the road. “Are you ok Miss Linton?” “Yes sir, just a little hot.” was my quick reply. My voice coming out at a high pitch which unfortunately didn't go unheard by him. “I can see that.” The devil says with a cocky smirk on his face as he puts the car in gear and sped off—tumb tapping away on the steering wheel while I just sunk down in my seat and kept quiet the hopefully short journey home.
