Evony- When I woke I cringed at the sudden pain that came back to my body. Everything hurt and I don't know how I was even able to sleep. I attempted to sit up and tried to remember what happened yesterday, the burning and deep pain in my backside reminded me. I upset my father and Kai. So much so that after Kai left my father dealt his punishment for me ruthlessly. When he was done I was a bloodied mess and Ethan had to fix me up to the best of his ability, I must have passed out in the process. I looked down to see my torso was completely covered in bandages. Was it really that bad? Sighing I attempted to get out of bed. I grit my teeth trying to bear with the pain. Slowly I made my way over to my dresser and looked at myself in the cracked mirror. My long black hair was a tangled mess and my eyes not only looked tired but shallow as well. I was sickening just to look at, not only that but a bruise covered my right cheek. A hard slap does that to you. I just hope it healed completely in a few hours, he hated me going out bookings sickly and disgusting... My skin was pale as well and I felt the strain on my body just from moving, I haven't eaten in a while. I just wanted to get out of this house, to go to my little cabin and have some peace but it seemed like I couldn't even be allowed that. I Can't leave hunched over like some cripple, he wouldn't allow it. I don't even think Ethan would, he would force me back into bed to rest. I'm sure I need it, but I can't rest when I'm stuck in this house this place was my hell and my prison... I took a deep breath and stood tall ignoring the pain the best I could feeling the skin on my backside pulling and stretching with all the injuries that marred it. I brushed my hair until it was straight and not so messy. I then washed my face with a cool bowl of water to freshen up. I proceeded to get dressed in my hoodie some jeans, and boots. With every small movement, I could feel the burning and stinging from the skin and injuries on my backside stretching. At least my entire body was covered so no one can see my injuries. Now I just need to hide my pain. I looked at the clock. It's taken me an hour and a half just to get dressed... Sighing I left my room doing my best to walk down the hall with just one hand on the wall. My back was burning along with all the other aches and soreness in my body. I moved past a few doors and came up to the kitchen where I saw Ethan sitting, completely distracted by his own thoughts with a look of despair on his face. When he noticed me he immediately stood from his chair and rushed over. "Evony! You should be in bed!" I flinched at his sudden approach and he stopped coming closer looking like he was guilty for scaring me with a simple movement. "I-I'm okay..." I whispered and avoided his gaze. I hated his look of pity. He grit his teeth and kept his distance although he wanted to probably help me stand he would get into trouble if someone saw him touching me and got the wrong idea... No doubt if anyone in the house even saw him touching my shoulder they would run to my father or his and I would be in trouble for trying to rutt or seduce the betas son... Everyone hates me, and I know it's mostly due to my father...but I've grown the reputation of being stuck up and cruel just like him because I avoid people... "Can we go?.... Please?" He looked me over and seemed to have an inner fight with himself over saying yes or no, but finally sighed and nodded he knew I needed some time away... He grabbed his coat and led me outside before we walked out into the woods to my sanctuary. We made our way away from the rest of the pack and closer to the border, this area was thick forest and mostly barren of life so not many patrols came by and routes didn't bother to try coming here for the food. We got to a small cabin surrounded by the lush greenery of overgrown vines and shrubbery, there were even some wild roses freely growing on one side of the building. Because this place was rarely disturbed, the flora was able to flourish and grew quite rapidly. There wasn't much variety in fauna but there were some beautiful wild white and blue flowers, and some herbs, that covered the surrounding area. This place was calm and relaxing, and I was able to enjoy it far more than my own pack house... I stepped inside of the small worn down cabin. And could hear Henry fiddling with something outside, after a moment a string of lights that were hung inside flickered on showing the cozy interior, in the back was a mattress and a few pillows and blankets, shelves lined with a few books and trinkets hung from the walls, and a table with some tools and jars with herbs was pushed into a corner with an old wooden chair. I made my way over to the desk and smiled slightly, but it quickly was replaced with an agonizing flinch as my injuries reminded me of their existence. "Evony! I knew this was a bad idea! We shouldn't have come out here! You're too badly hurt!" he exclaimed as he came over to my side to help me, and I sighed. "I needed to come out here anyways to get a salve. Just grab some bandages and clothes for me while I get some herbs for ointment ready... He nodded and started looking through the shelves for the medical supplies that were stored here. I stepped outside and took a deep breath, smelling the wonderful aroma of the pine forest around us, I then made my way to the back of the cabin where it was the wildest, and where a small stream resided. I picked some leaves from the herbs I needed and went back inside the cabin. I then proceeded to turn them into a paste with some water and oils in the mortar and pestle that was on the table. Ethan placed a few pillows down on the floor as seats. Ethan quickly moved over and kneeled beside me holding the bandages. "Let me apply it this time" I looked at him for a moment and nodded. I couldn't do it anyway. I removed my sweater and turned away from him, with my arms covering my chest. As he removed the bandages I stared at my pale skin And malnourished body, I wasn't skin and bone but I definitely needed to put on some weight, if I didn't want to look like a zombie... A strange feeling had settled in my stomach. "How long was I out..." He was quiet for a moment and he carefully removed the bloodied bandages from my torso. "You were asleep for two days... I didn't want to move you to change the bandages...i was afraid of tearing open your wounds because they were so severe...and your father kind of locked me out for a while as well..." I almost felt like laughing at how pathetic the whole thing seemed, of course, my father would do that, he was easy to anger and didnt like ethan being so close to me... "You can't keep living like this... I heard the runaways were spotted near the ice moon pack recently..." Ethan spoke quietly. I shook my head and continued to stare at my hands. "You know I can't run away... My father would either find me or ill be picked off by a rogue wolf... Besides... The runaways are probably nearly feral wolves by now, they are probably barely surviving as is, there's no way they would take in someone as weak as me...much less the alpha's daughter...." Ethan grew quiet and continued to remove the bandage, he knew we couldn't put our trust in some wild wolves and I knew I couldn't keep living like this... I closed my eyes and tried not to think about it, but I had a feeling I wouldn't have to live like this much longer, this life of mine will end soon, One way or another.
