We traveled through the territory as quietly as possible, luckily for us the warriors were worn thin in this pack, not enough wolves could fight, their alpha was slowly letting them collapse he would be the pack's demise.
But that wasn't going to happen, once I break his neck I will become their alpha and finally have my revenge. Then I will return this pack to its former glory.
For years I've waited for this, I'd be damned if I didn't take back what was rightfully mine...what was taken from me all those years ago... Kade will suffer at my hand just as he made me suffer, by taking my family...my home...and tearing this pack apart... So many lives were torn apart by his greed... Mothers, daughters, brothers, and sisters... He will pay in blood...
I will tear apart kade and his little family. I've heard all about his bratty daughter who doesn't even pay any mind to those around her within the pack...both of them have neglected and abused my people for too long...
I looked back at my loyal followers. They stayed with me this far I don't doubt they would die for me either. They want this just as badly as I did and nothing will stop us.
My beta mind linked me after scouting ahead.
'Alpha we found a cabin up ahead, we've only seen two enter but one left and hasn't come back for a few minutes now. The other is still inside how shall we proceed.'
I signaled for everyone to hold the position as I went ahead to meet up and see what we were dealing with. This could very well be a trap and I would not endanger everyone here.
I came up to where my beta stood along the treeline, there was a lot of greenery in this area, especially around the cabin, but it was mostly wild flora that just seemed to overrun the isolated area, kade was a fool but he would build an outpost way out here. The cabin was worn down and there were no signs of anyone really living there...
I could feel the hair on the back of my neck rise, something was off about this place and if I knew anything it was to trust my instincts.
'Scout the perimeter, if you see anything alert me at once.' I mind-linked my beta and the other two who were scouting with me, They nodded and went off in different directions to surround the area, if someone was here they wouldn't be able to run away...
I looked at the cabin and approached it. I caught the scent of something sweet as I got closer and it made my mouth water. I circled around towards the back of the cabin, I could hear the faintest sound of trickling water. I looked around and could see a small spring trickling through the back area of the cabin.
As I got closer I stopped and could see someone through the bushes. My mind felt hazy and the hair on my body stood up. I inhaled deeply taking in the alluring scent.
The scent was coming from them. I watched closely and could see it was a female, she was sitting next to the stream with her feet in the water, and dressed in some casual attire Her long black hair almost made her look like a fairy.
I was on edge, she was indeed no human or fairy, she was like us, but I wasn't sure how she hadn't smelt or heard me as I was coming if I moved a muscle im sure she would notice, i was frozen in place, this was a bad position for me to be in, I can't jeopardize this entire mission like this... So many people are depending on me...
staring at her through the leaves as she gazed at the pond deep in thought, I felt the urge to go towards her despite the danger of revealing ourselves. It was like I was caught in some kind of trance or vortex, my mind was telling me not to move or make a sound whereas my body was wanting nothing more than to go to the female and take her into my arms, I could feel my wolf stirring inside, this feeling was so overwhelming, I had a hard time reigning myself in.
She seemed oblivious to me and even my beta who also got closer to the house for a better look, I shifted my focus to him and I already disliked what I saw, his fangs were bared and his hackles raised as his body adjusted into a position more suitable for pouncing. His intentions were clear as day and it was making my own wolf angry.
'Shall we attack? It will be swift, she won't even make a sound. If they haven't even noticed us by now then they will when she sees us! we can't let her warn the enemy.'
I let a growl slip unintentionally, completely enraged by the threat to this woman, she hasn't shown any signs of aggression nor danger to us yet he's so willing to just tear her throat out?!
Her head snapped up as she looked directly at my hiding spot. As our eyes met, I could feel the wolf part of me become much more anxious. I was frozen in place unsure what to do, I've made a huge mistake.
She stared right into my eyes I knew she could see me and she didn't move a muscle, like a deer in headlights.
I noticed my beta back off a bit and could hear the front door of the cabin open. 'Someones coming!'
She tore her gaze from mine to look back at the building and I quickly got a safe distance away out of sight.
A young man came out of the cabin and spoke to her, she looked at the spot I had been but she seemed uncertain, not sure if she really saw me or was imagining things. I watched closely to see if they would realize they weren't alone out here and try to run back to the pack, to my relief they seemed completely calm, and oblivious. We're they lovers? I quickly shook that thought out of my head what is wrong with me?...
As I watched from a distance and kept my eyes only on her I couldn't help but wonder, What was wrong with me? I nearly jeopardized the entire mission.
My beta walked up beside me. 'Alpha?'
I gave him a warning growl and a cold hard glare. 'I've warned you before about acting out violently towards innocents... Do not make me tell you again. He lowered his head and I can see the frustration in his eyes from the situation.
My people are always on edge and we are constantly on the run trying to avoid danger, so I know not everyone is thinking clearly, when it comes down to tense moments like this, I'll let his negligence slide this time, but if the same issue keeps arising there will be severe consequences. 'You know the rules, we do not attack innocents who pose no threat, those two will not be harmed...' My betas ears folded back and he turned to walk away towards the others clearly annoyed.
Watching as the male wolf helped the girl up and back into the cabin I made my decision.
Glancing once more at the small cabin behind us I could feel a shiver of excitement run through my body, and it finally clicked in my mind...
Once this night was over that girl will be mine...
