Blurb

After years of loving a man who never truly chose her, Moe is discarded the moment her husband finds someone he considered better.

Betrayed. Rejected. Replaced. Walking away should have been the end of her story.

Instead, it places her in the path of the one man no one expected to claim her.

The Lycan King.

Her ex-husband's father.

The king doesn't offer pity. He offers protection, power... and a dangerous kind of devotion that borders on obsession. The more he makes Moe his, the more the son who threw her away realizes the greatest mistake of his life.

Now father and son stand on opposite sides of a battle neither can afford to lose.

Because the woman one rejected has become the woman the other refuses to let go.

Not happening
Moe I was rocking my baby boy in the morning light. He was finally drinking from my breast after crying a lot. His little cries turned into soft hiccups. I felt really tired but I loved him so much. “Please baby,” I said quietly. “Give us a few minutes of quiet before your Dad gets home. We both know this morning will be bad.” I have been a mom for six months now. It is a lot of love and a lot of being super tired at the same time. My shirt was dirty with milk, old coffee, and baby food from before. I looked messy. The clock said 7:42. My stomach felt bad. I was already late for my job at the pack hospital. I sort inventory there because Damien says I have to help after the baby came. He does not think growing his baby or taking care of him at night counts as real work. I touched my baby’s soft dark hair. He looks like Damien with the same strong face and bright silver eyes. It makes me feel funny inside every time. “You are too good for this,” I whispered to him. The bedroom door slammed open loud. I jumped and held the baby closer. Damien’s smell came in the room fast. He stood in the door looking big and strong in his black shirt. If course, he's the Alpha. Behind him was Laura. She is the Beta’s widow and she is nice to look at. She has been coming around a lot. “Well,” I said, trying to sound okay. “You brought company before breakfast. That is new.” Laura looked down. “I’m sorry Moe. I did not mean to come in like this.” Damien’s face got tight. “You have an attitude already Moe? It is not even eight yet.” I laughed a little even though I was tired. “There is a woman in my house before I even have coffee Damien. Give me a break.” “My house,” he said flatly. Yeah, his house. I clean it and keep it nice while he does Alpha stuff and she acts sad. He looked at the clock. “Shouldn’t you be at work? Some of us have real jobs.” “I was feeding your son,” I said. I pointed to the baby. “The little person who needs to eat all the time. Crazy idea, I know.” Damien laughed short. “You still tell yourself that story?” It hurt but I did not let it show much anymore. My son looked up at me like he was confused by his Dad’s voice. Laura stepped closer. “Damien please. I can help with the baby. Moe looks like she needs a break.” I raised my eyebrow. “Wow. Nice of you. Should I say thank you or just pack my bags and give you my marriage?” The baby moved and made a little noise. Laura reached out. “Here let me—” “Don’t,” I said sharply as I pulled the baby back. “I have him. Do not touch him with your hands.” She pulled back fast and looked like she might cry. “I was only trying to help.” Damien’s eyes instantly got that cold color. “Watch it Moe.” “No, you watch it,” I said back. I was too tired to be careful now. “You bring her here all the time like I should be happy while you two—” He grabbed my arm hard at once, It hurt. “You do not talk to me like that in my house.” I held the baby steady. “And you do not get to hurt me every morning and think I will smile.” The room got quiet except for my son making small sounds while Laura stood there feigning to look sad. Damien’s voice got low. “You are getting bold. You do not talk to your Alpha like that.” “I am getting tired Damien. That is different.” His hand moved fast and he slapped me across the face hard. My head turned fast. The baby slipped out of my arms and hit the floor with a bad sound. He started crying loud right away. “Oh God—” I dropped down fast and picked him up. There was a red mark on his head. I felt so bad. “Baby I am sorry. Mommy has you. I am so sorry.” Tears welled up in my eyes as I rocked him on the floor. Laura stepped closer. “Let me see him—” I pushed her hand away. Not hard but enough to stop her but she dramatically fell down like it was really bad and started crying. “I was only trying to help,” she said. Damien looked really mad. He grabbed me by the neck and pushed me against the wall. He was careful with the baby but still rough. “How dare you touch her?” he said angry. His power as Alpha felt heavy. “She is pregnant you idiot.” Pregnant? I looked at him immediately, then at Laura. Everything made sense now. The extra time he spent with her. How he always took her side. How cold he has been since I had the baby—and I realized something. Damien was not just mean because he did not like me anymore. He was making room to put her in my place.
