ch1
The sun dipped low in the sky, casting warm hues across Addin's luxurious bedroom. He sat on his bed, cradling a broken photo frame, lost in the memories of a person whose image had weathered the sands of time. A feminine voice echoed in his mind, apologizing for the unintentional breakage. The room was bathed in the melancholy glow of nostalgia."I didn't mean to break it, I was just..." the voice trailed off as she saw the sadness etched on Addin's face. Her heart sank, realizing the weight of the years they had spent together – she wished to mend his broken heart, reflecting on the 17 years of their married life. Yet, an unspoken realization lingered – time had slipped away, leaving little room for repairs Interrupting the somber atmosphere, Addin coldly requested her to refrain from touching his things, displaying an emotional detachment that had become all too familiar. She, in turn, accepted the unspoken distance, vowing not to intrude again. After a brief pause, she delicately uttered, "Dinner," only to be met with Addin's response, "Is Zen home? I'll join him."The dinner discussion pivoted to Zen, a lively presence that momentarily disrupted the melancholy ambiance. As the household prepares for dinner, Addin's wife, directs her attention to Zen's arrival. The lively entrance of the young boy, hungry and restless, sparks a familiar exchange. "I am starving, Mum. What's for dinner?" he exclaims, to which she responds with motherly smile " the usual" Addin's mind drifted to the memories of Zen's fragile health, the numerous sleepless nights when he'd check on his son, the hushed conversations with doctors, and the careful meal planning to bolster Zen's immunity. They lived in a constant dance with fragility, hoping each meal would contribute to a stronger tomorrow. Zen, thought to himself there you go again with vegetables zen with a touch of childish protest, implores his father to intervene. "Not again, Mum. Come on, I can't have it all the time. Dad, see na, tell na, Mama..." Her swift response quells any further argument, "You want it, or chicken soup u decide"To which zen didn't know how to respond so he looked towards his dad asking for help but in vain "I'll only wait for 5 minutes. Have supper and go to bed early."She left the room after saying this Meanwhile, observing his son's antics, Addin can't help but smile. Lost in his thoughts, he reflects, "He is really stubborn, exactly like her mother." Zen's complaint about his father's perceived neglect brings Addin back to the present. The ensuing exchange becomes routine, with Addin urging his son to stop throwing tantrums for the sake of his health. As father and son left for dinner
The family then proceeded to dinner, a ritual followed by each member retreating to their respective chambers. After dinner, in the confines of their room, she questioned Addin about a paper he held. Hesitant, she asked if he had talked to Zen about it."Are you sure about it?" he inquired She admitted her uncertainty, expressing the difficulty of revealing the truth. "It doesn't matter, does it? I never wanted to accept it.but I guess people change, so do I." Her words hung heavy in the silence, the echoes of an unresolved past reverberating through their shared history. In the quiet aftermath of her revelation, Addin, with a momentary pause, replied, "If this is what you want," handing over the signed paper as he retreated to his study room. The weight of unspoken words lingered, leaving the room heavy with unresolved sentiments nd leaving her to reflect on the irony of desires. she , alone in her thoughts, pondered the paradox of her desires – the place she yearned for had never been granted, while what she sought to avoid had swiftly become her reality.Meanwhile, in the study room, Addin sifted through his belongings, stumbling upon a diary. As he opened its pages, his gaze fell upon a crystal necklace, a relic from a pivotal day in his past. The memories flooded back, transporting him to a momentous day that seemed ordinary yet marked the genesis of transformative change. In the quietude of his study, surrounded by relics of the past, Addin delved into the monologs of his memories, each page echoing with the emotions of a time when life took an unexpected turn.It was the beginning of a new semester, a chapter in life that introduced unfamiliar faces and uncharted experiences. The masked girl, as Addin jokingly called her, became an integral part of his reminiscence. Little did he know that this chance encounter would weave their destinies in ways beyond imagination.....
