Chapter 57.2

"Don't let Athena hear that or she would go berserk."

Gaus let out a hearty laugh. He can already imagine Athena's reaction if she indeed hears it. She will be a dragon that spits fire.

"I imagined. She will be very mad at me for sure," he said, closing his office's door. He doesn't have to lock it because it's an automatic lock door that can only be opened by a passcode and retina scan. 

"Yep, that's Athena for you," Cytherea responded as they reached the elevator. 

Gaus pushed the button down and not too long the elevator's door opened. The two immediately got in and did a few chitchats about anything and everything until they arrived at the garden where on the right side lies a beautiful fountain which was on top of the ten-step stairs. It looks like a fountain on a stage.

It emits beautiful lights in different colors which look like a rainbow that spits water.

Cytherea's jaw dropped the moment they entered the place. It was so magnificent and so romantic. There were red rose petals scattered on the floor going to the fountain. And just in front of it is a two-seater table which was covered in white cloth. In the middle of it is a red lace that has heart designs. The table was decorated with red rose petals scattered neatly on the table as well as red roses arranged beautifully in the vase and two sets of Jo Malone - Peony & Blush Suede Luxury Candle. Beside the table is a person playing the violin. 

Cytherea couldn't believe that Gaus did this for her. It made her feel so special that she had butterflies in her stomach. She couldn't help but compare Ares and Gaus. 

Ares does sweet things for her too but then Gaus is on a different level.

She was still clinging to Gaus' arms as they walked towards the table. She's still in awe of how romantic the place was set up.

Gaus pulled a chair for her. He made sure she was comfortably seated and even put the cloth napkin on her lap before going to the adjacent chair. Where he also did the same.

They were listening to the sweet calming music from the violin when two uniformed staff walked towards them while holding a covered tray that looked to be food. The staff served them the shrimp scampi with poise as their appetizers. 

Cytherea started eating and her eyes sparkled as soon as the flavors of the shrimp, wine, butter, and garlic burst in her mouth. 

"Hmmm, this is so good!" she complimented. Her eyes were wide opened.

Gaus chuckled. Her expressions were like those of a kid who was awarded a chocolate bar.

"I'm glad you like the appetizers. I heard you also like crawfish so I bet you will enjoy our entree as well."

She chewed her food  first and swallowed it before answering, "For sure, if Athena is here she'll love it too." 

"We can take some out if you want."

"Thanks," she looked at him softly and her heart started to beat faster. She looked down and decided to focus on the food. The glares of Gaus give her butterflies in her stomach. She blushed every time she caught Gaus staring at her. The feeling is so new to her that even with Ares, she didn't feel this way.

Gaus smiled as he was looking at Cytherea who's enjoying the food most especially when Crawfish Etouffee was served.  She was just munching the food and they were not even talking, but for Gaus, it was already enough. 

Being with Cytherea and enjoying the foods he ordered for this date. It warms his heart every single time she blushed because she caught him looking at her.

They looked like teenagers who were on a first date with their crush. Don't have a single clue what to do.

"Wow, I'm so full. I don't even know if I'm still able to eat the dessert," Cytherea opened a topic while smiling.

"You should still try it even a little because I know you will like it as well. We still have Beignets and Snowballs."

"Snowballs?" she curiously asked. That was the first time she heard about it and even if she was already full, her curiosity still wanted to taste it.

"Yep, it is a shaved ice flavored with sweet syrup. You'll like it for sure."

"Oh my, I can't wait to taste it then. It sounded like scrambled ice in the Philippines,” she excitedly said. She clasped her hands and put her elbow on the table and leaned on it

“It could be, but I assure you it’s a good dessert.”

Cytherea laughed. Her eyes were glistening that Gaus couldn't help but be stunned. She really has a beautiful smile and he wanted to see it every day.

"You sounded like a salesman who wants to persuade me to buy your goods,” she giggled. “Don’t worry, I will still taste it even though I’m so full. I’m so curious what it would taste like.”

Gaus’ face turned red and scratched the back of his head. He chuckled, “I didn’t notice that I sounded like that. Am I convincing though?” he joked to cover his embarrassment.

She laughed even more and cover her mouth with her hands while doing so. Cytherea’s laugh was so contagious that Gaus couldn’t help but laugh as well.

Their laughter was disturbed when the uniformed staff brought them the snowballs and Beignets. True to Gaus’ words, Cytherea likes it so much. It tasted like scrambled ice but way tastier. Cytherea even forgot that she was so full and was able to finish the whole serving. She leaned at the chair’s backrest and hold her tummy.

“Oh my god! I’m so full. I think I can’t move anymore.”

Gaus chuckled, “Well, I’m glad that you enjoyed the food.” He took the napkin from his lap and hold the edge of it before leaning towards Cytherea. 

Her eyes widened and her heart starts beating rapidly again as she was waiting for Gaus’ next action. Gaus reached for her face and wiped the snowball’s syrup off the side of her lips.

“I just now realized that you were a messy eater, Cy,” he said while looking at her eyes intently. 

She felt like she was hypnotized as she was looking at Gaus’ green eyes. She couldn’t turn her gaze away. It looks like it was glued on his. 

“Every time our eyes meet like this, I feel like I’m totally lost in your eyes, Cy. You’ve totally captured my heart and I hope one day I could capture yours too,” he gently said while giving her a warm smile.
