The car pulled to a stop in the familiar beat up driveway. The beautiful flowers are beginning to die back as winter begins to creep closer, the paint chipping off the worn wooden siding and the concrete driveway cracking. It all looks more worn than when I moved out barely more than a week ago. Is that all it takes to no longer be familiar with a place? A place where I had grown up and been cherished and loved.
