This whole dinner feels like a set up of some sort. I stayed quiet while dinner was served and while we ate. My gaze kept flicking between Alejandro and my grandad, taking in their interactions between each other and the small talk they made while I ate some of my potatoes. There’s a certain level of uncomfort radiating off of Alejandro that I’ve never seen before. I see him take bites of his steak and although many people would be fooled by his laid-back exterior I can see beneath that. I can see beneath the carefully curated persona he’s created because he had begun to let me in.
