Leaning on the side of my car, I take a cigarette out from the packet in my pocket as I watched her walk up the driveway to her front door. I watched as she let herself inside and closed the door softly behind her. A part of me chuckled at the fact that she didn’t turn back to look at me when I told her to be at work. She had better self control than I had in myself. Self control that I had worked so hard to refine and control all these years. Yet, as I watched her walk away from me I had to say something. Something inside me made me have the last say, even if it was a d**k move. Something inside of me ached as she walked away.
