What I saw was breath-taking. I saw the city, flying by us. Us weaving between cars, the wind flying past us. Was this what it felt like to be a bird? To fly? Before I had time to register how I was feeling, I was smiling. My head was still against Miguel’s back but my eyes were open. More open that they had been in a very long time. I had no idea where we were going and I didn’t care. We were flying and I felt free. It was exhilarating, it was amazing. I had no idea how to describe what I was feeling except that it was beautiful. I didn’t know how long we were on the bike, but the sun was beginning to set as we pulled up to a little food van.
