My Possession

June 2017 Lily I was so nervous about this interview. I was working as a sales representative at the mall when my best friend's mother called and told me someone was waiting to interview two blocks away from my house. I was sweating profusely and my heart was racing. I was only eighteen years old and this was my first "adult job". I entered the office where the two managers sat, Ms. Smith and Mr. Johnson. The interview went well and they were very accommodating. I got the job. I entered the office on Monday morning where Ms. Smith greeted me. She explained that there are four directors in the company and I would need to meet the other two. I was already nervous. It was an uneventful week of preparing taxes and reports when my manager told me there was going to be a directors' meeting on Friday. "Please prepare the following reports for Mr. Maraj. He's expecting a high quality of work." said my boss. I was confused because 1. I have never prepared reports and 2. What an ass! On Friday, Mr. Maraj, also known as Nathan, walked into oozing ignorance. His demeanour completely turned me off. Whatan asshole, I thought to myself. "Get me a coffee without sugar now." demanded Nathan. I looked at him in complete shock. I was taken by his bossy attitude. I entered the office with his coffee and the reports. The discussion went well. I was introduced by my boss, Ms. Smith and I presented my findings. He looked at me with a straight face. Was it good? Was it terrible? I left the office on Friday wondering. On Monday, I arrived at work where my manager and I gossiped about our weekend. The topic of Nathan was on my mind. I was eager to know if there's any feedback on my presentation. I hated myself for thinking about it, but other than his ignorance, he was completely handsome. "I will ask her during lunch," I said to myself.
