Akita’s POV
It was late into the night as I walked through the shadowy corridors of Kael’s stronghold, my steps light and cautious. I was on my way to see Eliana in her chambers, she needed someone to cry too after her last fight with Kael that left her almost paralysed.
The night felt different. There was a tension in the air, an unease that I fought shake. As I rounded a corner, I caught sight of a faint light seeping from under a door down the hall. The soft murmur of voices reached my ears, drawing me closer.
