The Ball:
Sapphires POV:
I walk my way to the ballroom and look for my table . There are so many people here , my pack and all Alphas, Lunas , betas and beta females . I start getting nervous and feel my hands start getting sweaty. Everyone knows about me, as soon as that ceremony ended 2 years ago the news of the ‘ wolfless wonder’ spread throughout packs like wildfire. As I pass by everyone to get to my table I feel all eyes on me. ‘ Why did I decide to put on these treacherous heels’ I thought to myself. I love to dress up but only occasionally , other than that I am all for the t shirt and jeans look with my converse. I sit at my table which is completely empty, and as I wait for dinner to start and be served I twirl my wine glass watching the wine swish back and forth. Yes, at 18 we are allowed a glass or two of wine for the fine dining events, not my favorite alcoholic beverage but it will do for this event and my nerves. Alpha Matias went to the center stage and announces for dinner to be served and for everyone to enjoy the ball. As I wait for my waiter the most intoxicating smell invaded my nose, pinewood and cinnamon . As soon as it hit my whole body froze, I just could not believe it, there is absolutely no way in hell I have found my mate. As if my wolf read my mind Celeste went completely nuts and started howling and prancing in my head yelling mate .
“Get up and go find him, you silly human!He smells delicious!” says Celeste excitedly .
She is not wrong thought but I am afraid to see him, every pack knows about me, what if he decides to reject me because like everyone else he thinks that I am crazy because I claim to have a wolf but have no proof since I have yet shifted.
“Stop thinking like that, at least give the guy a chance. Now go find him hunny!”
I get up and wipe my hands on my dress and go follow the smell. As I walk towards the entrance I lock eyes with the most handsome man I have ever seen. He was tall, built, emerald green eyes, short brown hair and the most dazzling smile. Something is wrong though, the second he locked eyes with me and realized who I was, the smile in his eyes disappeared and turned to straight disappointment. He turned to his beta and completely ignored the fact that I was there. My heart shattered. I felt like I could not breathe. I walked quickly towards the entrance and as I was trying to pass someone bumped into me and caused me to lose balance and I ended up into the arms of my beautiful mate. I once again looked him in the eyes and as tears started to form I covered my face and got out of the ballroom as quickly as possible. I ran home and got out of my dress , started a steamy hot shower and cried as I cleaned myself . I got out, dried off , and cried myself into a deep slumber.
Alpha Jasper's POV:
As I got to the entrance a delicious smell came to my nose , strawberries and chocolate. I turned to my beta “ dude do you smell that?”
Sean looked at me funny and asked “ Smell what?”
“It smells like strawberries and chocolate “
“ Nah man I don’t smell that, they do say that you get a sweet enticing smell when you smell your -“ Sean’s eyes widened as he realized what he was about to say.I had to think for a second and then I realized he was talking about my mate . My heart started beating faster. My wolf Astrophel started jumping up and down with his tongue hanging out howling mate mate mate in my head.
“Go look for her, you big dummy!” yells my impatient ass wolf .
“Hey! It's our mate, chill! I'm looking, I'm looking!”
I search the whole ballroom until I lock eyes with the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. Her ocean blue eyes just make you drown in them . I start looking at her body , which can cause any man to drool and her jet black hair with the multicolored strand. Wait, multi-colored strand? My heart drops as realization hits me. Shes the girl with no wolf, what all the packs call the wolfless wonder, dumb and immature name in my opinion but still , I cannot have a mate with no wolf. I look away and turn to Sean, “ Bro, I need to talk to you for a minute.” Sean nods and motions up a finger to tell me to hold on. As I am patiently waiting, someone lands right into my arms, my mate. Her smell becoming so much stronger, her lips look so kissable and when I get to her eyes they are filled with tears. I feel my heart tear in half, but as I want to hold her and comfort her I stand my ground and say nothing, I have to think about my pack. She covers her beautiful face and runs and it takes literally everything in me to not run after her and her intoxicating smell.
“ What the hell human? What is your problem, run after her and comfort her!” yells my wolf.
“ I can't do that, I have to think about what's best for our pack. She has no wolf, she will be a weak luna. “ I replied to him.
“One day you'll realize how much of a dumbass you’re being.” howled my wolf , he blocked me off upset .
Great , now my wolf is pissed. I wonder what the hell he meant .
