The Battle of the Silver Eagle Part 1

Aided with his Jetpack, Aster quickly jumped over at the group while brandishing his combat knife pushing deep on the squad while the shielded mech managed to block the charge as it holds back the force by Aster jetpack while standing as the other still remembering the event what they just saw in front of them.  

*** Changed to young girl's perspective***  

3 hours earlier...  

"All right the system is has started... the position is in? hm, this place?!" said the girl with a surprise as she looked at the screen in front of her bewildered by the place.  

Once more she checked the simulation for more data but the given information was confidential to the public which surprised her while thinking why did the information disallow her to find more information of the operation name and places, checking once more she was given further refusal to retrieve the data about the operation which dumfounded her as she did not know where the operation was taking places.  

"Lieutenant, all the machine is ready and ready for duty," said one of the engineers in the front left of the screen.  

Hearing the conversation, she heard from the simulation audio log pulls her back to the simulation world where she is currently on.  

"There is no defect program found, wait a minute... clear, now move the arm," said the engineer as he looks at the mech.  

The girl noticed the engineer was talking to her so she followed what the engineer wants to continue the program's specified scenario.  

"All right, all systems are clear and green... okay, I'll re-route the communication back to Alicia. I hope you can return safe and alive pilot" said the engineer as he gave a thumbs up.  

After hearing the word from the engineer, they quickly left the staging area and run to the elevator leading to the underground and at the same time, a hologram appeared from the simulation as a woman aged 25 years old were shown in front of the girl.  

"Understood, shall we begin lieutenant our next destination we would meet with our partner after we start the patrol around sector three to six," said the hologram as she later revealed the map appointed by her showing where the squad should go later.  

"Corporal Seildri, Corporal Karish, and Captain Victor will be joining you during this mission," said Alicia "Next the Captain would like to speak to debrief the current objective" as she gave the captain the chance to talk.  

"Oh, already done then... currently the intel the higher up has picked up today is trustworthy and had been confirmed by them so many times... it's the Death Reaper," said the Captain in a grim tone.  

"Oh, Shit... we're dead this time!!! I don't want to see him again" said Seildri as he screamed with fear.  

"Oh no, please not him..." said Karish while the shaking voice was heard.  

(Who is this Death Reaper they are talking about and why did they felt fear toward that person, let us search the operation once more and open the pilot's profile... What?! it is restricted information only for the highest-ranking officer!!! Why and who is that person?)  

"We don't need to fear it since there is the second squad who will be participating together with us... let us go," said the Captain as his mech started to walk forward"  

Hearing the word directly from the captain the entire squad slowly left the safe zone as they walk slowly throughout the field their weaponry ratio is balanced with rifle, shield, axe, pistol, and combat knife that could combat close and long-range well enough.  

"Hey, Lieutenant after this operation is there anywhere else, you're going to?"  

(Heh? he is talking to me should I answer that or should I stay silent)  

"That's... hmmm, not sure," said a woman voice.  

(This Voice? so the Lieutenant is Silvia???)  

"Hahaha, so you don't have a plan of going anywhere else like that?" said Seildri with his face's hologram smile.  

"Well let's see it later so hmmm... how about you Seildri?" said Silvia with a teasing tone.  

"Me?!... after this I had a plan of getting married when I get back home," said Seildri with a happy tone.  

"Hoh, getting married I see, is it Scarlet?" said Karish jokingly.  

(Oh, this Karish guy planned to get married after returning... but from what I remembered all of them died except for the Lieutenant) 

"Yeah, I going to get married to Scarlet... wait, how did you know that?!" said Seildri with a surprise.  

"Don't play around with us and think we will not know with that since every time you sleep you always murmured and even shouted about getting married to her because of that we had difficulty getting asleep added with the fact you also snored so hard, I had a tough time sleeping while Silvia has her room so she wasn’t affected by it?" said Karish revealing Seildri's secret.  

"Now I remember how you always sleep talking during the night it was something like this. Ehem, oh scarlet I love you so much would you want to marry me?" said Karish while acting like Seildri.  

"Hahaha... Nice try trying to copy me but that is not me, since we're talking about it how about you captain?" said Seildri as he laughs.  

"Me... hm, maybe I should retire later," said the captain as he talks with a smile.  

"Retire? so is captain already married, how about kids do you have one?" said Seildri as he was curious at the captain.  

"Kids, oh they already have grown up and the last time I heard from them they already had their first child with their spouse," said the captain with a sad smile.  

"Oh? is that so then congratulation then," said Seildri.  

"Ah, thank you," said the captain a bit of shame.  

"Hey, don't let your guard down... we just got intel that the second squad just located the devil's track and now is on the move," said Silvia with worry.  

"Understood boss," said Seildri jokingly.  

(This lieutenant sounded more serious but from the file, what I gathered on her I could only manage to find her last occupation and her early time during the army but everything else is confidential or only the higher up could see it... who is this person and where is she now?)  

"Boss?! your boss is in front, not the back," said Silvia in an angry tone.  

"Hahaha, don't get angry Silvia that would ruin your beautiful face if you are like that," said Seildri with a teasing tone.  

"If I going to turn ugly then it is because of your fault, all right... I tell scarlet that you like tease other girls" Silvia teased back.  

"NO!!! okay, I'll stop" said Seildri with a cold sweat.  

"Good, then get serious then," said Silvia as she gave a wry smile.  

"Yeah... the first squadron's captain had seen the devil and already initiated the attack now, the second squad would join in to help but they will be waiting for another squadron to join them," said the Karish as he just received a message from the other squad.  

"Understood then we should hasten our movement," said the captain.  

With these words, the entire squadron started to move much faster to the second squadron not wanting to waste any more time.  

2 minutes later...  

"Captain we lost the first squadron and the second squadron had found the reaper they are going to intercept him right now," said Karish.  

"Don't intercept him... wait till we get there," said the captain as he shouts quickly.  

"They already began intercepting him sir," said Karish as his face paled.  

The girl was surprised since it has only been two minutes since the one entire squadron had already been destroyed; she would only need at the very least five minutes just to destroy one squadron and that was when she is in full strength.  

"We need backup immediately... we just lost two mechs, need support," said the pilot over the radio.  

"Come on faster, speed up guys," said the captain anxiously.  

When the entire squad arrived near the destination, suddenly from the communication device on the mech flare up once more.  

"Agh, Mike you got to run now!!!" shouted Pilot A.  

"What, no?! don't kill me, I surrender!!!" shouted Pilot B as he screams in agony in the end.  

"Hey, anyone is alive over there, please tell us the situation right now" shouted the Captain.  

"Ah haha... I going to die, please tell Mary I love her" said Pilot A as he cried in fear.  

"Hey, don't give up just yet... Hey!!!" shouted the captain.  

"Zzzzttt..." as the radio of Pilot A got cut off.  

(This is too cruel no mercy, is Aster always been like that If so that is the reason I could not open his file no matter how high my rank was than him... perhaps that is the reason Miss Ashlin chooses him to be part of the MIU, even so, their rank is differed and far apart.  

After arriving at their destination, the entire squad saw a black mech from the horizon which has a silver line beside the primary color of it while on its right hand holding a rifle, and on his left was an axe.  

"YOU DIE!!!!" shouted Seldri in frustration.  

Corporal Seldri felt the sense of wanting to wreak vengeance and frustration quickly raise his g*n and aimed its barrel at the enemy mech but as he going to pull the trigger an axe was already flying toward him at high speed which surprised him and the entire squad as it lands directly on top of the mech's chest directly on top of the cockpit where Seldri was piloting.  

(Huh? H-how?! How did that happen, we are at the very least 4km away!!!)  

"Impossible, how is that possible?!" said Karish as he was dumbfounded.  

"Is this the death reaper's strength?!" said the captain with surprise.  

"Hey, Seldri are you still alive?" shouted Silvia worried.  

"Yeah, too close for comfort but I'm still alive," said Seildri as he was scared.  

"Good then Lieutenant, you better pull off that axe and open the cockpit to make sure he is safe," said the captain as he was looking at the enemy.  

"... Understood sir," said Silvia as she considers for a moment before answering.  

At that moment, the girl quickly pulled the axe and throw it away then slowly opened the cockpit but the unexpected happened the door was malfunctioning not wanting to open while the sound of stuck gear was heard, where she quickly tried to break the glasses for the rescue attempt.  

"It's stuck... the cockpit's door was damaged, stand back," said Silvia anxiously.  

"R-right?!" said Seildri in surprise and confusion.  

After saying the word, the girl pressed the cockpit window with her mech's finger breaking the glass, Seldri who was inside the cockpit then quickly jumps at the nearby mech's hand where she quickly goes away to put him far away from the combat zone then return to the battlefield, she then saw the Black mech was fighting tightly with the captain as in equal and with how agile her teammates were its was still no use against the enemy much stronger than them.  

"Ah?! this Reaper? so much, too terrible," said the captain as he was half exhausted.  

"Hey, Captain would we die later, no?" said Karish as he was aiming his g*n but the captain caught in the way he was unable to take a single shot.  

"Don't you try to say anything weird" the captain shouted at him.  

After an extended period of fighting the Black mech increased its speed and the speed dumbfounded most of the squad as it was beyond the limits of any mech available and existed in history, the Captain who is holding back the attack was pushed for few meters away before lastly thrown to the ground for another meter away.  

At that very moment, Karish intercepted the black Mech but the attack was avoided where it returned a counter-attack with a kick to the shield pushing him back then followed with a s***h that severed the mech into two but it was avoided with a jump then followed with the first shot to Karish who was blown away.  

Karish was lucky enough that he quickly covered himself with the mech's hand thus the bullet landed on its right hand causing the pistol to release from its grasp but he was saved by the girl who shot back at the Black mech causing him to take distance then watching her next move.  

"Lieutenant please cover me, I need to return for repair quickly," said Karish as he was holding himself from fainting.  

- Outside of the simulation -  

"Ma'am, we have intercepted an illegal network attempting to enter the simulation," said the staff as he turns his head to Ashlin who is serious at the screen in front of her.  

"Hm? so someone wanted to enter the network, can you investigate who it is?" said Ashlin as she turns her head toward the technician.  

"Ma'am the person who is currently hacking... the person's ID is..." said the technician.  

Looking at the ID caused the Staff to be surprised and was confused about how should he continue.  

"Is there something so surprising that you could not talk? let me see it myself" said Ashlin that who approached the staff while peering at the screen "This ID? □□□□□□" as she was surprised at the name of the hacker name.  

Seeing the name on the screen Ashline did not believe what she just saw at the same time paled after looking at it slowly feeling tired then she sat down on the chair, some of the staff officials turned pale after they were curious and want to see also paled after hearing Ashlin's word. The pilot and the staff not only looked to be confused amongst them and some started to whisper among their colleagues discussing how they should proceed next.  

"CANCEL THE SIMULATION, NOW!!!" shouted Ashlin as she turns her head to the staff.  

"It's useless Ma'am the simulation is on lock-down... we can't even control it" shouted the staff as he pressed the controller.  

"Then, SHUT IT DOWN!!!" Ashlin shouted more.  

Following her order, a few of the Staff pressed the off button nearby, waiting for a moment did have any effect on the system especially on it to shut down.  

"Ma'am nothing happened," said the staff as he turns his head around.  

"Then connect me to Oriel, right now," shouted Ashlin as she looked at the staff.  

"... Understood Ma'am," said the staff before looking back at the screen in front of him.  

"Better hope, it's quick," said Ashlin while showing a pouting look.  

- Back inside the simulation -  

"Oriel do you hear me?" said Ashlin through the communication device.  

"Heh?! Yes Ma'am, I read you loud and clear" said the girl as she still watching Aster.  

"Oriel what I say is top priority mission and I need you to do it carefully, someone entered the network take care of yourself now, and don't let your guard down," said Ashlin through the communication device.  

"Eh? understood Ma'am but... should we tell him about it too," said Oriel nervously.  

"Because it's was related to him that I wanted to connect it to you directly, I don't want to take any risk and you shouldn't do it also," said Ashlin through the communication device.  

"Eh?!" Oriel was dumbfounded.  

"Because it is an emergency and I will also enter the simulation try to hold them back as long however you can," said Ashlin as she walks to another empty simulation cabin and entered it.  

"Sorry, I have an emergency order from the headquarter. There is an unknown mech coming this way and I was ordered to hold them back" said Oriel transmitted in Silvia's voice.  

"What?! understood hold that mech back, we will take care of this mech however we can," said the Captain as he was barely able to hold back.  

"... Understood, I will be on my way there," said Oriel transmitted in Silvia's voice.  

After relaying the order given by Ashlin, Oriel started to look at the surrounding carefully furthermore in every detail. After a couple of seconds of looking at the distance, she noticed a small dot from afar which is moving closer to where the battle currently took place then she started to zoom her visual range to that highlighted which later revealed another Mecha this time a silver mech carrying a long rifle moving to Aster location.  

(Hmmm... a long-barreled rifle and carries a combat knife; I could not hold long but it seems that I can hold him off for a short amount of time)  

Readied her rifle Oriel started to initiate her jetpack and flew away fast toward the new enemy mech coming for Aster hoping to stall the time for Ashlin to enter the simulation world and join the battle.
