Darkmoon Pack
The forest drank in the moonlight, its leaves shimmering brightly. The ground glowed faintly as the trees cast long, twisted shadows, on the ground.
The air reeked of blood as a silver-furred wolf ran through the woods, panting heavily.
“I hope they aren’t hurt,” Sheila whispered to herself, her heart hammering against her chest.
The smell of blood filled the air as she got closer to the pack.
Sheila is the only daughter of the Alpha of the Darkmoon Pack, one of the strongest and most respected packs.
“What’s that smell?” Sheila asked, furrowing her eyebrows slightly and stopping in her tracks as she walked straight into the pack.
Bodies lay on the ground—lifeless children held in their mothers’ arms, old men and women, warriors—every one of them lying in pools of blood.
Sheila couldn’t believe her eyes as she hastily made her way into the Alpha’s house. As she shifted back into her human form, she gasped, her eyes widening in horror.
Across the room lay the body of her father on the floor, blood spilled around him. Her elder brother, Shane, sat lifeless on the couch, his head slumped to the side. Beside him was his mate, Amelia, lying lifeless as well, blood soaking her long cream gown as they held each other’s hands tightly.
Sheila walked slowly into the house and squatted beside her father.
“No… no… no,” she cried, unable to believe what she was seeing.
“Dad,” she called as she cupped his face in her hands. The sight of a tooth bite caught her attention.
“Oh my God,” she gasped.
“Sh-Sh-Sheila,” someone called weakly, coughing.
“Mom!” Sheila cried as she scurried to her mother’s side. Raina lay on the center table, barely supporting herself.
“Mom… Mom, who did this to you?” Sheila asked as she tried to help her up.
“Hate will poison you,” Raina, Sheila’s mother, said weakly.
“Let me go get help,” Sheila said, trying to stand up, but her mother stopped her.
“Just… promise me you will live a normal life,” she said, coughing out more blood.
“Marry someone. Hide your wolf. She is too strong—she could bring disaster.”
With those words, she gave up the ghost.
Sheila couldn’t contain the rage boiling inside her as tears streamed down her face.
She grabbed her mother’s hands and made a promise.
“I promise!” she cried, tears rolling down her cheeks.
“I promise you, Mom,” she said as she held her tightly, crying profusely.
“No… no… no,” she sobbed, her face buried in her palms.
“Awoooooh!” Sheila’s wolf, Maya, let out a long, mournful howl as everything disappeared into darkness.
A sharp pain surged through her as if a sharp object pierced through her heart.
She collapsed to the floor beside her mom tears coming out of her eyes as she blacked out.
...
........
Sheila woke up her body tired and her eyes swollen from last night crying.
She forced herslef to sit up. The fact that are parent and pack members where wiped out within a day felt like an illusion to her but it was the hard truth she had to force her self to accept.
She forced herself to stand up her, he legs couldn't take it but she force herself to walk outside.
Hundreds of bodies of her pack members where still lying lifeless on the ground.
Tears started streaming down her cheeks as she collapsed in the middle of the dead body. Her pack is gone. Her family is gone. Her wolf is gone in just a single night.
The sound of car coming caught Sheila's attention as she raised he head to see who it was.
A black SUV truck entered into the pack house. A man dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans trouser steeped out of the driver seats.
He had an alluring red hair with golden eyes which complimented his hair well a guy dress in a cream vest and black trouser came out of the passenger seat brown hair with brown eyes and a silver stud on his right ear made him very alluring.
"Shelia, the brown haired guy called as he walked up to her"
"What happened here" he asked as he raised his eyebrows.
"They were attacked while I was away yesterday, no one survived." She said as she broke down again
"It's okay" Drake said as he hugged her tightly while patting her softly.
"Those men there are form the Lycan King we came as soon as we heard the new don't worry we would find the culprit. And they will give your family and pack member a befitting burial" he said assuring her
Sheila's eyes moved to the red haired guy " he looks familiar she thought to herself" but brushed it off since she couldn't remember where she knew him from
THREE MONTHS LATER
Sheila stood in front of the Beckingham Mansion, wearing a long white mermaid wedding gown. Her long, wavy blonde hair flowed past her waist.
In her hands was a paper.
I’m wolf-less and married to an Alpha, she thought to herself as she stared at the marriage certificate.
“Mom, I’m keeping my promise,” she said softly, her lips curving into a smile.
The creak of the door opening caught her attention, and she turned to see who it was.
A brown-haired man with brown eyes and a silver stud in his right ear stepped outside.
“Drake,” Sheila called, her eyebrows knitting together.
“Uhh,” he hummed softly, his brows slanting downward.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
He exhaled slowly as he walked up to her.
“I’m sorry, Sheila. Werebears have gathered at the border. I have to go defend the pack,” he said, his brows furrowed.
“It’s okay,” Sheila said, giving him a soft smile.
She had gotten married to Drake today. If he was going to the warfront, his life could be in danger, and there wouldn’t be a chance for their marriage to begin properly.
Her words made Drake exhale loudly as he cupped her cheeks in his palms.
“I’m so lucky to have you as my Luna,” he said as he pulled out his family emblem from his pocket—a silver carving of a howling wolf—and placed it in her hand.
“I’ll make it up to you, I promise,” he said, tapping her shoulder lightly before leaving.
Sheila watched him walk to the car as it drove off.
ONE YEAR LATER
Sheila’s joy knew no bounds as she waited eagerly at the doorstep for her husband, ready to welcome him home. After a year of battling, he was finally returning.
She smiled from ear to ear as Drake walked up to her.
He stood before her, his face firm as his eyes fixated on the emblem he had given her, hanging from her clothes.
His nails dug into his palms as if he were barely containing his wolf.
“You can’t be the Luna anymore,” he said firmly.
Sheila blinked in disbelief, thinking she had misheard him.
“What do you mean by that?” she asked, forcing a tight-lipped smile.
“You are wolf-less, and you can’t rule by my side,” he replied.
“Why?” she asked, unwilling to believe the words coming from Drake, her eyes wide with shock.
