>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Author P.O.V. .....................In the White Fang Pack "Someone, please tell me there isn't an actual f*****g mountain on the East Coast called n***o Mountain?" snapped Beta Holly on the conference call. "There is unfortunately." shared Gamma Shelly as she led the conference call with the two other women and continued her deep dive into Luna Mira Sutton and her entire family. "Where?" demanded Beta Holly, fuming from a hotel suite in Washington D.C. as the children turned into little explorers. The pups find tiny treasures all around the room. "n***o Mountain is a long ridge of the Allegheny Mountains in the eastern United States, stretching 30-miles from Deep Creek Lake in Maryland north to the Casselman River in Pennsylvania. The summit, Mount Davis, is the highest point (3,213 feet) in Pennsylvania. n***o Mountain is flanked by Laurel Hill to the west and Allegheny Mountain to the east." replied Gamma Shelly in a matter of fact tone as she looked around her lair. Luna Aisha had designated Gamma Shelly, this dimly lit, high-tech command center filled with glowing screens, tangled cables and heavy-duty computer hardware, as her personal hacker lair years ago. Gamma Shelly has come to love living in the White Fang Pack and in Nevada. "Wait! What? And why?" uttered Gamma Juju, trying hard to process her words as she stood in line for pizza at a nearby busy pizzeria in Washington, D.C. The busy pizzeria was a loud, hot and joyful storm of flying dough, shouting cooks and the rich smell of melting cheese. "n***o Mountain, a ridge in Garrett County, Maryland, is part of the Allegheny Mountains and is most famously associated with a 1756 incident during the French and Indian War. The mountain’s name is tied to the story of Nemesis, a free Black frontiersman who fought alongside Maryland colonial leader Colonel Thomas Cresap. Historian Francis “Champ” Zumbrun traced the naming to a 1756 letter from Cresap to the Maryland Gazette, which described a free Black man who died heroically saving Cresap’s life. The mountain was named in honor of his devotion and bravery as well as his heroic efforts. Zumbrun also noted that Nemesis is considered one of the earliest recorded “free” Black frontiersmen in American colonial history. The name appears on maps as early as 1822, with later editions in 1826, 1834, 1836, 1838, 1873, and 1876." conveyed Gamma Shelly calmly to her two close friends. "That's some bullshit. If he truly wanted to honor him, it should have been named Nemesis." declared Beta Holly. More livid than before, she knew the true reason behind it as she began to pace around the hotel room. The pups turn the ice bucket into a treasure chest. The little paper cups are spy glasses. They talk into the room-phone like space captains calling home. Every corner holds a new game. They slide in their socks across the smooth floor. They hide behind the thick window curtains and giggle until Beta Jackson looks up from the desk. "I agree. So what do you want to do about it? Go back in history and slap some people well, get in line." insisted Gamma Shelly. "That's f****d up." admitted Gamma Juju as she watched a chef throw a white circle of dough high into the air. It spins fast and lands soft on his flour-dusted hands. "No, but I will think of a nice public service move to correct a wrong. Give me a minute." stated Beta Holly with a smirk as she tried to calm down to not upset the pups. "Okay...in the meantime... Our boy, Alpha William, needs some answers. So here is the plan." voiced Gamma Shelly, not wanting to lose focus for the real reason for the three-way call taking place. "I know ... I know." murmured Beta Holly as she took the ice chest away from the pups and explained it wasn't a toy. Then, she started looking stuff up on her cellphone. "Juju .....go visit their non-profit community center and Grandma Beta Ora Marcille Sutton, and the human Grandfather, Evan Sterling, at their home in Baltimore, Maryland, along with their adult children, Liorah and Andrew. It looks like these young ladies have been doing great work, and I am extremely impressed with them. So go find out why a mother...a daughter...a sister wouldn't want to publicly or privately claim this family because I can't find anything. See if you can find the buried family secret." instructed Gamma Shelly. "Okay on it. Send me the locations. Plus, I am going to invite Luna Isabella to go along with me. Luna Isabella always claims that we purposefully leave her out of everything fun. Besides, she is a good judge of character and people love to spill their guts around her." expressed Gamma Juju as another worker calls out order numbers over a microphone, and hungry families wave their hands in the air inside the pizzeria. "So true and I am cool with that. Sent." proclaimed Gamma Shelly. "Got it." said Gamma Juju. "Next, Holly... I need you to travel to meet with the eldest brother, Beta Malcolm, currently a member of the Blood Mountain Pack in Georgia, and with Alpha Tate of the Blue Ridge Pack located in Virginia that Grandma Ora, and her two granddaughters, Pandora and Azora, are assigned to as Lone Wolves. See what answers you can dig up." advised Gamma Shelly. "Sure...but you have to agree to blow up every sign that reads n***o Mountain on that damn mountain and take down the website along with the f*******: page permanently." insisted Beta Holly. "Sure thing." responded Gamma Shelly with a smirk. She knew Holly would think of something destructive. "Good! I think I am going to ask Queen Dela to join me. She is a walking lie detector these days." added Beta Holly with a chuckle before they ended the three-way call. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Alpha Koda P.O.V. .......In the Red Dawn Pack located in Alaska "We need to talk." I said, trying to remain calm. "About what?" asked Mira, smilingly up at me from her Luna desk as I walked into her office. "About the fact that you have not been honest with me. Your parents are still alive along with your brothers. Plus, your eldest brother, Malcolm, is the Beta for the Blood Mountain Pack in Georgia." I stated as I closed the door behind me. "I...I...I...I..." she stuttered, looking like a cornered, frightened wounded animal. "Why?" I demanded, stopping in front of her desk. I was fuming. I hate to be lied to and made a fool out of. I trusted her. "I was ashamed and embarrassed. I saw how close you are to your son and I......" Mira muttered, standing up and then her eyes rolled to the back of her head. She fainted. I quickly alerted the pack doctor, who came over and rushed her to the pack hospital. After that, he examined Mira and informed me that she was two weeks pregnant. As soon as my mate woke up, Mira came clean and told me everything. Mira abandoned her pup and her family for a man. Then, because of pills and shame, she was too embarrassed to face them after the relationship ran its course. Foolishly, Mira convinced herself it was for the best. They were better off without her. Honestly, I was torn as Mira pushed me to forgive her for deceiving me. Plus, begged me to help her fix her broken relationship with her family. I sat silently listening to her. Eventually, the pack doctor came into the hospital room to check on Mira again and informed her of the pregnancy. Mira was so happy. She saw this as a way for her to finally have a second chance at motherhood and promised not to fail this time. Mira pleaded with me to give her another chance. She pushed harder for me to forgive her due to her current pregnancy. Nonetheless, I told Mira, "I needed to think." and I left her there to be under the doctor's observation for a few hours. Because, honestly, what kind of woman abandons her pup for a man and is that really the kind of woman I want for me and my unborn pup as well as my beloved pack members? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
