........The Annual North America Alpha Meeting
Held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada ..................................... Six months ago
" With a heavy heart ❤️ and after much debate, we have decided by unanimous vote to allow Lone Wolves 🐺, Rogues and humans with proven mixed heritage to attend our Annual Mating Balls." stated Head Elder Charles Astor before pausing to allow the crowd gathered to digest his words.
The initial reaction was a sudden, sharp intake of breath — a collective gasp that sucked the air out of the room. For a split second, a heavy, stunned silence hung over the crowd as hundreds of minds struggled to process what they just heard.
Then, the sound fractured.
It began as a low, rumbling murmur that rapidly escalated into a chaotic wall of noise.
We heard sharp, disbelieving laughter, urgent whispers and the rustle of bodies shifting in discomfort. People turned to face one another, mouths opened, demanding confirmation:" Did he just say what I think he said?" As the shock curdled into dislike, for many the noise sharpened into a barrage of defensive scoffs, angry growls and the unmistakable, deep vibrations of collective booing.
Visually, some in the crowd ripple with physical aggression.
Faces blanch, eyes widen in disbelief, and brows furrow into deep scowls.
Arms that were once crossed or relaxed suddenly flew up in gestures of rejection — palms thrust outward as if pushing the information away, or hands gripped heads in sheer disbelief. People leaned away from the stage, physically distancing themselves from the speaker. The unified front of the audience broke away into animated pockets of motion with individuals shaking their heads violently, poking fingers in heated discussion and frantically checking their phones to see if the news was already breaking online.
This time, when Head Elder Charles Astor spoke, it was like thunder piercing threw the storm.
"Due to our decreased numbers of births and in actual fate matebonds. Chosen mate bonds don't guarantee pups, only fate mate connections. Therefore, we have to open our eyes 👀, hearts 💕 and minds to a population that we have historically discounted. We can not afford any longer to arrogantly dismiss them and their potential value to the bigger picture. Every pack in this room is required to participate. Attendance is mandatory. We refuse to become extinct like the werebears and werelions." conveyed Head Elder Charles Astor.
The room was completely silent now.
Many were wondering had their numbers really gotten so low that we needed the stray to ensure survival.
"In addition, I would like to announce the fact that Alpha Rhett Calloway and his retired parents, Alpha Noah and Luna Tahlia, have agreed to host the first of many Annual Mating Balls with our new inclusions invited in their territory. We will be in attendance as well and no one will be allowed to reject anyone without our expressed consent on the matter. This isn't up for debate. We will not go quietly into the night." announced Head Elder Charles Astor sternly.

Pandora P.O.V.
Where do I start? I guess with, who started all this mess for me and my three cousins, Azora, Anora and Fiora.
My black grandmother, Ora Marcille Sutton, is a pure blood Beta werewolf and her fate mate is a human male, Evan Sterling. He was born and raised in the inner city of Philly. My grandfather had no clue werewolves even existed before he met Grans.
My grandmother was from a traditional pack, and they looked down on matebonds with humans. They tried to force her to reject him, but she refused to go against the Moon Goddess.
Therefore, Grandma Ora went to the Elder Council against her family wishes and petitioned to become a Lone Wolf. My grandmother was granted permission to live amongst humans, but she needed to check in with an assigned Alpha yearly. As a result, my grandmother was disowned by her family and friends.
Soon after, they relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, which was over forty years ago.
Then, they decided to move near Patapsco Valley State Park.
The park itself extends along the Patapsco River and is considered Maryland's largest state park. They moved south of the park in Baltimore City. Allowing my grandmother's wolf the ability to roam freely when needed without drawing attention herself. Also, allowing Grandma Ora the ability to hide in plain sight, blending in with the humans.
They had four children: Liorah, Mira, Andre and Malcolm.
Malcolm was the only one granted a wolf by the Moon Goddess. Malcolm left and joined the Blood Mountain Pack in Georgia.
Over time, he became the Beta in the pack. My Uncle Malcolm is a good man. He keeps us updated on all the latest news in the werewolf world. If it wasn't for him, we probably wouldn't know anything.
Eventually, Uncle Malcolm married and had children. Uncle Malcolm visits with his snobbish family every 6 months. We aren't close to them. They act like they are better than us because they are real werewolves. Therefore, we love it when Uncle Malcolm visits without them.
Nevertheless, Uncle Malcolm is so cool.
Liorah and Andre never got their werewolves and were resentful at first but soon got over it. My mother, Mira, was a lantern who never made peace with not getting her to emerge. Over time, Mira grew distant and more and more resentful of her parentage.
Nonetheless, Liorah, Mira and Andre married humans.
However, my grandmother, Ora, warned them that their children still might inherit the blessing and curse of being a full werewolf.
We were all raised to know that we might or might not obtain our wolf on our 18th birthday.
There was a 50/50 chance.
As a result, we unanimously decided to retain the Sutton last name. It still holds weight in the werewolf society. It's what eventually aided my Uncle Malcolm in being allowed to join a pack and move upward.
If we didn't obtain our wolf, nothing would change for us.
However, if we did get it, we would have to choose to join a pack, preferably our Uncle's pack. So that he could look out for us.
Or decided to become a Lone Wolf and respect the law of the land by registering with the Elder Council and an Appointed Alpha like our grandmother.
This would ensure that we were protected from hurt or harm by any pack. Plus, allow any of our future children permission to join a pack if they ever want to do so. Like our Grandmother, Ora still has to do with the Blue Ridge Pack located in Virginia.
And before you ask, our names are similar because they agreed if it was a girl to honor our grandmother by having some form of ORA in our name. The only one who didn't keep the promise was my Uncle Malcolm and his wife, Bellamy. They named their children Parker, Cassius and Micheal to honor her side of the family.
Nevertheless, my Aunt Liorah has two older daughters named Anora and Fiora Sutton. They are twins and 26 years old.
We call Fiora by the nickname Finn only because she loves seafood so much that we tease her that one day she will turn into a mermaid instead.
They don't have wolves at all but have some abilities that we like to keep low-key.
Our Grandmother Ora felt it was for the best.
Therefore, we didn't challenge it.
Besides, they possess heightened senses of smell, sight and hearing as well as the ability to heal faster than humans, but not as fast as Azora and me. Plus, their reflexes and speed are only a little better than humans.
They are considered completely humans and don't have to check in with a pack or with the Werewolf community's Main Elder Council.
My mother, Mira, only has one child me.
My parents were young when they married.
My father, Byron, had a serious gambling and drinking problem. Everyone claims that neither one of them was really ready for married life or parenting when I came along.
My mother was a lantern. Who wanted nothing to do with pack life. She decided to never inform the Elder Council of her dormant wolf early on. She didn't want a pack to look down on his half-breed status and possibly abuse her for it.
Soon after I was born, my parents dropped me off at my grandmother's house and never came back.
No calls, texts or visits.
They send me postcards twice a year on my birthday and Christmas that describe the extent of our relationship. I found out from a postcard a couple of years back that they had divorced and gone their separate ways.
Also, that my mother, Mira, had remarried to a powerful Alpha named Alpha Koda Black via postcard after the fact. Alpha Koda Black is a Native American and the Alpha of the Red Dawn Pack. The Red Dawn Pack is the largest and strongest pack in Alaska. Alpha Koda Black, is the CEO and owner of Black bank. His twenty-one-year-old male heir name, Alpha William Black, is single.
My name is Pandora Ava Sutton and I turned out to be a lantern, too. I have a wolf named Opal, but I am unable to shift at all.
However, I still have superhuman abilities, like strength, speed, agility, along with enhanced senses like smell, sight and hearing, as well as enhanced healing ability.
My wolf, Opal, keeps saying we will eventually shift, but I am twenty-four now.
Opal arrived on my 18th birthday like most werewolves. Opal keeps saying we are not strong enough, yet.
It's been seven years. I have given up on the idea.
Nonetheless, my Uncle Malcolm and my close friend, retired Luna Tahlia, think if I did shift as a late bloomer now it would probably have some negative lasting effects on my body. If I don't shift by my 25th birthday I will probably never shift.
I am fine either way.
Besides, I never really wanted to become a werewolf like my cousins. That s**t looks painful.
I hate pain. I am a big baby when it comes to pain, especially needles.
My Uncle Andre has a daughter named Azora. My cousin, Azora, got her wolf a huge jet black Beta wolf named Sable. Azora is 24 years old too.
She decided to be a Lone Wolf like me. We heard how awful packs treat mixed breeds, omegas and lanterns. We are not going for that s**t. I have a big temper and that s**t simply will not fly with me or my cousins.
Unfortunately, Azora and I have to check in once a year with the Alpha of the Blue Ridge Pack located in Virginia along with our grandmother. In addition, we have to notify him if we plan to leave the area for longer than thirty days.
