The late evening sun cast a warm golden glow across the backyard, where the sweet scent of blooming jasmine mixed with the rich, savory aroma of searing meat.

Standing by the charcoal grill, Alph Noah carefully watched over a row of rosemary-marinated lamb chops. He was wearing a faded apron, a slight bead of sweat on his brow and a look of quiet concentration as he flipped each piece, letting the flames briefly flare up and lick the edges to create a perfect, caramelized crust.

Nearby, an elegant long wooden table was set up with garlic roasted asparagus, steamed shrimps, crab cakes, mashed potatoes and gravy, along with a bright Greek salad with crumbled feta and a pitcher of iced tea.

When his devoted gorgeous older fate mate. Luna Tahlia excitedly rushed onto the back deck. Then, she quickly kissed him passionately before sitting in a nearby deck chair sitting a cold drink and sharing a smile with him through the rising smoke.

"You are back, great. Just the woman I wanted to talk to before our dinner party. I have been thinking, and I wanted to run something by you." stated former Alpha Noah cautiously.

"Sure, but let me tell you first that Cupid has struck already." exclaimed retired Luna Tahlia eagerly.

"Really who?' shouted ex- Alpha Noah.

"Beta Royce and our Azora are fate mates. They have accepted each other and are probably sealing the deal in his Beta suite as we speak." explained seventy-year-old Luna Tahlia, who didn't look a day over thirty.

"Really, now. That's wonderful. I like that pairing. They will be good for each other. Plus, that will make the Elder Council case more credible to those packs still on the fence and foolishly considering boycotting this year's Mating Ball altogether." remarked Alpha Noah in a matter of fact tone.

"I agree." insisted Luna Tahlia.

"Any other prudent news?" inquired Alpha Noah curiously.

"Just the fact I added Gamma Fletcher as a last-minute attendant to our dinner of ten, now. " responded Luna Tahlia with a chuckle.

"That's fine. I cooked more than enough. Besides, Gamma Fletcher is good people." mentioned Alpha Noah with a knowing smile.

"I knew you would feel that way. Plus, I didn't want to leave him out since Gamma Fletcher is single and available these days." acknowledged Luna Tahlia confidently.

"I bet you didn't." affirmed Alpha Noah as he shook his head. He found it quite humorous that his mate was playing matchmaker when she normally tried to avoid taking on that role at all costs in the past.

Luna Tahlia couldn't help but laugh as well.

"We could always make all the available men form a line outside their guesthouse bright and early tomorrow morning." teased Alpha Noah, who was sixty-four and didn't look a day over thirty either.

"Not a bad idea." agreed Luna Tahlia firmly and quickly.

"Honey, I was just joking." expressed Alpha Noah through his non-stop laughter.

"Well, you know how bad I want my girls here with us. So there will be a pack tour or a mandatory pack lunch tomorrow in the packhouse. I wanted them to have a positive experience here in our pack. Having them here with us on a permanent basis would mean so much to me. I feel like the Moon Goddess is giving us another way to have the daughters we always wanted, and I don't want anything to ruin it for them or us." conveyed Luna Tahlia in a very determined voice.

"I know honey. That's why I have been thinking.... I think we should ask Alpha Koda Black and his new bride, Luna Mira, to come a week early. It will take the pressure off the estranged mother and daughter to be reunited after all these years with the world watching on such a huge stage and allow them time to hopefully resolve any issues they have with each other." advised Alpha Noah.

"You're right. I think it's a great idea. They have not seen each other in years. She abandoned my Pandora for years and is finally popping back into her life with a new man on her arm. I don't want any ugliness to overshadow the mate ball. Too much is at risk." voiced Luna Tahlia strongly.

'Wonderful! We will ask Pandora at dinner tonight her thoughts on the matter and then make the call in the morning." announced Alpha Noah steadfastly.

"I think that's a good idea. I mean if it was me, I would be angry as hell and have a ton of questions." pointed out Luna Tahlia adamantly.

"Exactly. That's why we need to get ahead of this...." assured Alpha Noah before being interrupted by a mind link from Beta Royce that he was going to escort the ladies to dinner.

Pandora P.O.V.

"Hey Fam!! It's me and Royce. We came back to make sure ya''ll straight." yelled Azora as she and Beta Royce entered the Lake house.

"Hey, Cuz! Hey Royce!" shouted Anora from her room as I walked towards the stairs.

"We straight, Cuz! Good evening, Beta Royce." said Finn as she followed behind me.

"We good! Here we come. How are you this evening, Beta Royce?" I stated as I walked downstairs and gave my cousin a quick hug.

"Cool! " replied Azora as she looked around the living room area, looking very much like the famous American actress and singer Kelly Rowland with long jet-black hair and dark brown eyes.

"I am great. I finally have my fate mate with me. I am truly a happy man." expressed Beta Royce, beaming with happiness and pride, looking very much like the famous American actor Josh Holloway with piercing blue eyes.

Next, the twins joined us downstairs looking just like the deceased American singer and actress Aaliyah. The only difference is that Finn is a little lighter in complexion with light brown eyes and Anora has a darker complexion with coal-black eyes.

We gave them a quick tour of the place before grabbing our purses, cellphones along with the house keys. We started walking to Momma Tahlia's house.

We didn't get too far away from the Lake house before I saw a man jogging towards us. Beta Royce stopped so he could catch up with us. Besides, the closer he got, the more I noticed that he was cute. He looked like a young Matt Damon back in the day.

"Hey, Man! I heard congrats are in order. Congratulations! I am so happy for you." voiced Mr. Cutie Pie excitedly.

"They are ..... Thanks, and please allow me to introduce you to Pandora, Azora, Anora and Finn. Ladies, this is Gamma Fletcher Reid." announced Beta Royce happily.

"Hey, good evening!" responded Finn cheerfully.

"Good evening!" remarked Anora softly.

"Evening!" I said joyfully.

"Nice to meet you this evening!" conveyed Azora graciously.

"Listen! I am so glad we finally have a female Beta. It will take some of the pressure off Luna Tahlia until Ivy steps up. Luna Tahlia is supposed to be retiring and enjoying it." stated Gamma Fletcher Reid, sounding a little annoyed and frustrated with his Alpha's choice for a chosen mate, Ivy Brooks.

Meanwhile, the four of us just shared a look and remained silent.

"I know.... Don't get me started..... " murmured Beta Royce, shaking his head, sounding irritated with her as well.

"Anyway, ladies, we are glad that y'all are here, and I am finally glad I can put names to faces. I have heard so much about the four of you since Luna met y'all in the airport. Finn that.... Pandora that.....Anora.that..... Azora that...... We have heard all about all your non-profit work. Honestly, I am impressed." admitted Gamma Fletcher.

"Thanks." the four of us said at the exact same time before busting out laughing.
