Concurrently......in the Albemarle Peninsula Wolf Lake Pack

Pandora, Anora, Finn, along with a freshly mated and marked Beta Royce and Azora, were in the kitchen preparing breakfast in their guest house.

Beta Royce and Azora had slept their last night. Azora didn't want to be away from her cousins. She felt responsible for them being the only one with a true wolf.

The four ladies are not morning people.

They had two important meetings via zoom today as well as a family reunion dinner to attend as well. Plus, a new family member is coming for breakfast. Pandora was nervous about meeting her new step-brother.

Everyone knew it.

In addition, Pandora's wolf Opal was feeling very anxious. Opal senses danger and their mate. Unfortunately, Opal was still too weak to shift. Opal needed more time. Therefore, Pandora informed her cousins. So they were prepared to fight or leave or both via mind link earlier.

Pandora and Finn were busy making scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast with bagels.

When Head Elder Charles Astor along with Elder Blackstone, Alpha Noah and Luna Tahlia stormed into the guest house.

They looked upset as they rushed into the kitchen as Azora and Anora were setting the table.

"Why did you reject my son? I thought you agreed to give me time to fix this mess." demanded Alpha Noah, walking over to Finn looking hurt and troubled.

"What? What are you talking about? I didn't reject him, I swear." replied Finn, being taken aback.

"What? Don't deny it!" responded Alpha Noah, fuming.

"What? Impossible." snapped Luna Tahlia.

"I am not lying. I did not reject him." pleaded Finn, almost on the verge of tears. Then, she placed the bacon and sausage carefully on a serving platter and cut the stove off.

"Wait! If you didn't reject him, then who did?" asked Head Elder Charles Astor, glancing over at Anora.

"I did." announced Anora boldly, leaving the room speechless for a few minutes. Everyone was busy in their heads trying to figure out what that meant for Alpha Rhett and for the pack as well as for Finn.

"What?" probed Beta Royce, completely puzzled by this new revelation.

"How? Why? When? I don't understand. You claimed not to have a mate bond with him." inquired Momma Tahlia, sounding very confused.

"I didn't feel anything at first. His smell didn't affect me. Then, the betrayal pain hit and at first I couldn't tell if I was mirroring my sister's pain due to our twin bond, or if I was experiencing it for real myself. Then I knew. " explained Anora calmly as she finished setting the table for breakfast.

The food smelled amazing.

"Anora, sweetheart. Ivy used black magic and tricked my son into having feelings and a relationship with her. The Elder Council is here to make sure Ivy pays for that crime. Please reconsider it wasn't his fault. We are flushing out his system as we speak. Rhett should be waking up soon," revealed Momma Tahlia lovingly.

"Listen carefully, I never wanted to share a mate with my sister and I don't want any part of this ugly, messy love triangle involving Ivy Brooks. Leave me out of it. I don't do drama well. So it was a no-brainer for me. Therefore, I went to the holy temple during the full moon last night. I prayed to the Moon Goddess to be released from our weak mate bond. I prayed to the Moon Goddess like my grandmother taught me to grant me a severance that didn't require his acceptance of my rejection. She did. I felt the severance... the pain ......the loss. It hurt like hell. I am still sore. Nonetheless, I am at peace with my decision." insisted Anora firmly.

"Why did you not tell us? We could have gone with you. You didn't have to do it alone." asked Pandora as her wolf began to go still as if waiting for something or someone to walk through the door. She paused with the tray of scrambled eggs in her hands.

"Why the secrecy? We don't keep secrets. We know you have never been open to the idea of sharing a mate with Finn, even as children." inquired Azora.

"You are my sister. I love you. I will respect your decision. I won't pressure you to change it. We have talked about the possibility of us sharing a mate many times. You were never open so I get it. I am sorry you felt like you needed to do it alone." voiced Finn softly, walking over and hugging her sister.

"I know, but I needed to do it alone. I didn't want to talk about it. I just wanted to get it done and over with." admitted Anora in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Are you angry with me? Are you disappointed in me?" asked Finn in almost a whisper to her twin sister.

"Never. We are two different people. We can choose to walk a different path but still love each other. I wanted you to be happy. I just don't want your happiness tied to mine. We have talked about this and I have always made my position clear, Finn. I don't want to share d**k with you, no matter how rich, how handsome or powerful that man is. That's a deal-breaker for me." conveyed Anora in a serious tone.

"I know. You have said it since we were kids. I get it. It would be weird." confessed Finn as she gave her sister another hug.

At the same time, Pandora finally placed the tray of eggs on the beautifully arranged table.

"This was very selfish of you, Anora. The Elder Council was clear no rejections without our permission. You will be punished.

We are facing the extinction of our kind." expressed Elder Blackstone.

Immediately, Azora and Pandora growled at him as the three of them stepped in front of Anora.

"Everyone calm down. Let's not overreact." pleaded Beta Royce as he stepped between the four ladies and the two Elders gathered in the kitchen. He didn't want another ugly situation to unfold between his mate and his new female family members.

"I don't owe anyone permission to hurt me or access to me or to my peace. My peace of mind is everything to me. I am allergic to drama. I am not sorry for choosing myself. I will wait for my second-chance mate or get a chosen mate. Besides, you don't have the authority to punish me over a decision granted and approved by the Moon Goddess herself. Are you wiser than her?" voiced Anora confidently, refusing to back down.

"Wait!! She was blessed with a severance. That didn't require his acceptance of her rejection. That could only happen if three things were at play at the same time, which is rare. One a weak mate bond. Two if a mate bond with a stronger Alpha were waiting for her in the wings. Thirdly, if Anora's bloodline carries favor with the Moon Goddess." revealed Head Elder Charles Astor.

"Really?" gasped Alpha Noah in complete shock.

"Nonetheless, the mate bond with Alpha Rhett can be fully restored if you take back the rejection within the next thirty days. Please consider giving Alpha Rhett a second chance with the new knowledge that he was tricked into hurting you and your sister. He didn't do it with a free heart and mind." pushed Elder Blackstone.

"Good to know, for my sister's sake. But I won't be changing my mind. I don't want any part of that circus. Ivy isn't going to give up that easily. If she was willing to resort to black magic in order to steal his heart. Besides, I am not interested in sharing d**k with my sister. That's f*****g gross. I love you, Momma Tahlia and Big Poppa, but not enough to sacrifice my happiness and my peace." declared Anora calmly.

"We are here!!" shouted Gamma Fletcher, walking into the kitchen with Alpha William Black.

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" yelled Alpha William Black possessively as he rushed over to Anora. He looked very much like the younger version of famous American actor Alex Meraz with his dashing, boyish looks.

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" screamed Anora excitedly, wrapping her arms around him.

Growls were heard, and tension filled the air.

One of the growls came from Pandora as her wolf, Opal, took over, walked, sniffed Alpha William and then backed off as she threw up a mental wall between her and Pandora and refused to talk.

Pandora was at a loss.

Her wolf, Opal, had never done this before. Pandora knew Alpha William wasn't her mate, but there was something about his scent that pulled at her.

After a heated discussion, the four cousins were warned not to reject anyone else without the permission of the Elder Council.

Also, Finn needed to prepare to leave to go to Love Island in order to strengthen her mate bond with Alpha Rhett in a week.

In addition, Alpha William needed to leave the territory no later than tomorrow afternoon. As to not upset Alpha Rhett with his continued presence in his pack. Alpha Rhett would consider his presence in his pack a threat.

They didn't want a war breaking out over a woman.

After that, his parents, Alpha Noah and Luna Tahlia, Gamma Fletcher, along with Head Elder Charles Astor, along with Elder Blackstone stormed out.

Afterward, the four cousins, along with Beta Royce and Alpha William, continued with breakfast. Instantly, they liked Alpha William and he liked them.

They talked with Alpha William for a while and then over the phone with Grandmother Ora, Uncle Malcolm, Alpha Koda and Gamma Shelly.

Everyone agreed that due to the current turn of events, it was best to allow the mother and daughter reunion to continue in Alpha Noah's pack this evening, but they would leave first thing tomorrow morning for the Red Dawn Pack.

They quickly made arrangements.

Finn and Azora would remain with the Albemarle Peninsula Wolf Lake Pack in order to work on their mate bonds.

Pandora would go with Anora to support her while working to rebuild her relationship with her mother.

Plus, try to locate her mate in the Red Dawn Pack.

Everyone believed now that due to how strongly she reacted to Alpha William's scent, her fate mate had to be from his pack.

Everyone was excited and happy for her.

Everyone agreed that any prolonged stay would be viewed as a threat by Alpha Rhett. Alpha William wasn't safe staying in his territory.

He needed to leave.
