Pandora P.O.V.
The four of us have always been super close.
Our Grandmother Ora taught us how to fight. She is a real badass at everything crossbow, shooting, sword and martial arts. She didn't want us out here in this cruel world at the mercy of anyone.
She has taught us well.
We went to the same schools growing up as kids and then went to the same university. We can mindlink each other as well.
After that, we pooled our money together and opened a non-profit community center in our low-income neighborhood. We want to make a difference in this world. We want to assist inner-city families change their lives for the better.
The Sutton Community Development Corporation, which focuses on real estate development and community resources in Baltimore, Maryland. We partner with the Phillip B. Downing Park Partnership. The modern mailbox was invented by Phillip B. Downing, a Black man, in 1891. It has a strong history of being a non-profit with a real heart for the people it services.
We do park fundraising and friend-raising. Azora and I handle this part. We are better at networking and marketing.
We sponsor a monthly neighborhood park clean-up to keep the park safe and clean for the neighborhood. Fiora handles this part because she has always been a huge save the planet and save the trees person.
We provide Economic Development Assistance. Anora handles this part because she is a tech-savvy and bigger nerd than any of us.
We provide opportunities to engage with the neighborhood through a year-round line-up that includes daily programs, seasonal and holiday events, educational opportunities as well as ways to give back. We help with this part of the mission.
For example, we provide tutoring, a food pantry, clothes pantry, dance classes, before and after care for children, a resource center, job fairs, archery, basketball, self-defense classes and first aid and CPR training, as well as grant writing classes. We rent space in the local Phillip B. Downing elementary school's attached recreational center across the street from the park.
Furthermore, we have even started buying run-down, beat-up and abandoned houses in the neighborhood. We started fixing them up and turning them into low-income housing for families.
Subsequently, we purchased four of the abandoned houses on our grandparents' block for our own personal dwelling.
Azora, Anora, Finn and I are able to see our grandparents every day. My Uncle Andrew and Aunt Liorah both own houses the next block over.
We walk to each other's houses all the time.
We are currently on a road trip to Locust, North Carolina and lost.
We have been on the road since 11 am, and it is now 5 p.m. The drive from Baltimore, Maryland to Locust is only supposed to be 6 hours and forty-five minutes.
We are supposed to be staying for a whole month. I hoped we could get on the road by 9 a.m. but our final staff meeting ran longer than expected.
After that, they wanted to stop and eat brunch. Besides, I know Anora and Finn are extremely nervous.
Eating helps calm them down.
Unlike Azora and I, they have never been on packland.
It's not like we have been on a lot, just the Blue Ridge Pack and Blood Mountain Pack. Both experiences left a nasty taste in my mouth.
We are finally visiting our good friend, retired Luna Tahlia Calloway, and her beloved Albemarle Peninsula Wolf Lake pack.
We met her and her mate, Noah, ten months ago, at the airport, when Azora and I went to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend a convention. They were there for the Indy 500, an annual automobile race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
We hit it off instantly.
They were the first high-level werewolves that weren't standoffish to us or judged us harshly.
Thereafter, they came to Baltimore and stayed for a whole two months.
They helped clean-up the park, took dance classes, tutored kids as well as helped give out food and clothes to needed families.
Everyone can tell they are still very much madly in love with each other.
They were impressed with us.
Furthermore, our Grandmother Ora even liked them and that is saying a lot. She doesn't like many people.
Besides, our grandmother usually hates pack wolves with a passion.
They kept saying we were already doing the true work of Lunas. The only real difference was that we were doing it for humans.
Therefore, any pack with half a brain would jump at the chance to welcome all four of us into the fold. They were sad that, at our ages, we still hadn't discovered our fate mates. They thought it might be because our mates are werewolves and not humans.
We did consider the possibility a long time ago but figured they would probably reject us, so we didn't pursue the idea. However, if I am being honest, we have never truly given up on the idea of one day finding what our grandmother has with our grandfather.
Nevertheless, retired Alpha Noah and Luna Tahlia left but stayed in touch with us.
Luna Tahlia claimed that she always wanted more children, especially daughters. Unfortunately, she was never able to get pregnant again after the birth of her son, Rhett, for some odd reason. Luna Tahlia said it definitely wasn't from lack of trying.
Therefore, we became her instant adopted daughters. We lovingly call her Momma Tahlia.
So after they left to return to their pack, retired Luna Tahlia called us every Wednesday evening like clock work, and we would talk for hours.
Momma Tahlia has really become important to me since my own mother abandoned me.
Momma Tahlia has beautiful tanned skin, and she reminds me of an Egyptian Goddess. She has long thick curly brown hair and hazel eyes. Her mate, retired Alpha Noah, reminds everyone of that American actor George Clooney. He is white and of primarily Irish, German and English ancestry.
Momma Tahlia invited us to her mating anniversary party and to her son Rhett's mating ceremony as well as to this year's Annual Mating Ball being held for the first time in her pack. Packs from all over North America would be in attendance.
This would be the first time in over 200 years that Lone Wolves, Rogues and humans of mixed ancestry would be in attendance.
Security is supposed to be tighter than Fort Knox. The Elder Council plans to send warriors as well to ensure that everything goes smoothly the day of the Annual Mating Ball.
Rhett is taking a chosen mate named Ivy Brooks.
They have been dating for five years.
It is very clear that Momma Tahlia doesn't like her "Uppity Ass" at all.
Nonetheless, Momma Tahlia loves her son Rhett and has decided to put up with Ivy for his sake.
Since it's time for Rhett to settle down and start a family. They were hoping that, eventually, Rhett would find his fate mate. So they could finally tell her "Uppity Ass" to kick rocks, but unfortunately, no luck so far.
We are Momma Tahlia invited honor guests. Luna Tahlia promised that she wouldn't let anything bad happen to us or let anyone mistreat us.
We intend to hold retired Luna Tahlia to that promise. We promised to keep an open mind. Our family thinks it's a great opportunity for us.
Furthermore, my Uncle Malcolm and his children Parker, Cassius and Micheal will be attending the Annual Ball as well as their future Alpha Nolan.
My cousins Parker, Cassius and Micheal are still single as well. Plus, I will finally see my mother after all these years along with her chosen mate, Alpha Koda Black. Honestly, I don't know how to feel about it. Half of me is still angry, and the other half has so many questions as well as just misses my mother.
Nevertheless, Momma Tahlia wants us to see how progressive her pack is and how they aren't afraid to interact with humans.
As a result, they were able to take advantage of human laws to get more land as well as private and federal funding for their pack.
They are one of the few packs that have learned the art of hiding in plain sight.
Surprisingly, there is a wild population of red wolves in North Carolina, specifically on the Albemarle Peninsula. The Red Wolf Recovery Program is active in five counties in eastern North Carolina. They were able to set up the Albemarle Peninsula Wolf Lake Reserve.

"Finn! Finn! Where the hell are we? We're in the middle of nowhere!!" yelled Anora. Anora was exhausted due to the fact she had been up late the last couple of nights preparing for this trip. Most importantly, Anora wanted to make sure we had back up Wi-Fi capabilities in order to work from here.
We still have a company to run.
Besides, I have several important meetings I need to be a part of even though I am here.
"We're about to come up missing out here in these damn woods!" Anora whined from the back seat. She hates conflict. She is quiet, reserved and tries to avoid drama. But she and her twin Finn will fight if pushed or to protect their family.
"Anora! I swear this is where the address you gave me took us to. Honestly, I followed the GPS to the letter." Finn said, looking confused and a little scared.
"Does everyone have their guns and knives on them?" demanded Azora. Azora, on the other hand, has a smart mouth and can back it up. Plus, her wolf, Sable, always wants the smoke. I have had to stop her wolf more times than I would like to remember from giving people the business.
"Yes! Why?" I asked as my wolf Opal giggled softly in my head. My wolf has been in a good mood since we started this road trip.
"Because we need to be prepared for anything out here in these woods. Remember no one goes anywhere without being armed. I am not playing." revealed Azora.
"I promise." I voiced.
"Most definitely." replied Anora.
"Me, too" said Finn.
As for me, I observe and speak only when spoken to, you get the same energy you give me. I don't like to fight, but I will if you cross the line, and we always protect each other no matter what. As you can probably tell already, Azora and I are the main fighters in the group.
"I wanted to live and not be killed or mauled out here in these damn woods. You know damn well, black folks don't go into the woods. f**k that part, werewolf bullshit." teased Anora, laughing.
"Well, just call me Anna Valerious in this b***h or, better yet, Laura Croft in this Muthafucker. I got my knives ready! I wish a mutha fucker would jump out on us." proclaimed Azora, laughing.
Azora didn't want too many people in the Albemarle Peninsula Wolf Lake pack to know how big her wolf really was yet.
It might pose a problem later.
"Just keep an eye out for any signs of life out here." I instructed, and they nodded in agreement.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
A half hour later, we finally saw something up ahead.
"Look! Is that a guard shack up ahead?" asked Anora, tapping me on the shoulder. I looked up on full alert praying that we had finally made it.
"Yes! It is! That's pack land up ahead. Try to sense the difference in the land Finn and Anora." I replied, as I started to get an overwhelmingly bad feeling about this whole trip.
I hope I don't have to f**k nobody up tonight.
