"I might like him," I said sheepishly, feeling my face flush. "Unfortunately, he knows about it too." "Oh dang, how did that happen?" Mel asks. "At the beginning of the year, my old friend accidently said it really loud when the whole cafeteria went dead quiet to where you could hear a pin drop." I bleat, thinking about the terrible memory. "mmm sounds horrific" Mel says sarcastically "It was, it really was" I say shuttering at the thought "Besides, I pretty much wear my heart on my sleeve anyways he would have found out" "Let's get back to the game" Zoe says as she ran back to where we were. "Okay" I said as I looked up and noticed the streetlight turning on "Do we need to walk you home?" "Yea if you wouldn't mind" Mel says "I wanna do it" Zoe shouts as she pushed me toward inside the house "Okay, okay don't push" I tell Zoe and hit her hand for pushing me. "I'll tell Mammy on you for hitting me" Zoe cries out "And I'll tell Mammy you pushed me" I said, looking at her as her cry became annoying "If you don't stop I'll walk Mel home" "Fine" Zoe says as she walks down the street with Mel. I headed inside and helped Mammy with Brantley along with Daddy-daddy. Afterwards, Zoe came back out of breath from running up the hill and pretended to collapse in the middle of the hallway "Quit faking," I said as I looking down the hallway from the living room. "Whatever" Zoe said as she stood up and walked to Mammy's room, where she normally sleeps with Brantley and Mammy. "Big baby!" I said as she went into the room then stuck her tongue out at me. The door bell run as I got up and walked to the door. I could see a police at the door. I opened it. "Excuse me does Steven Towers been by here?" The police asks "No" I say "Does he live here?" "Yes" I say "but he hasn't been here in a couple of weeks" "Is there an adult in the house?" the officer asks as another was shinning his flashlight into the window of the door. "There is, my grandma is lying down because she worked a twelve hour shift" I say "Okay, thank you for your time," the police officer says and turns around. I shut the door and let a sigh of relief. I really hope that they don't come back, I think to myself. The next evening, I helped Mammy get dressed as Zoe helped Brantley get dressed. Mammy's phone rung and I quickly answer the call as I hear Trinity's voice. "We're outside," Trinity says as I take Brantley and took him to the old red early 2000 Ford Expedition. "Hey" I said as I quickly buckled Brantley into his suitcase and Steven got out to help Mammy into the van. Zoe and I climbed into the back seat as Steven sat in front of us closer to the seat. "you girls remembered not to eat anything so you can eat lots right?" Mammy asks "Yes Mammy" we both said as we watched out the window before falling asleep quickly to the sound of country music playing in the background. Ten minutes later, we arrived to our Auntie Alona's house as bunches of people were outside. I sat up as everyone was getting out as I stretched my arms and legs. Trinity grabbed Brantley from his carseat as Steven helped Mammy inside. "Hi Auntie" both Zoe and I greeted as we seen all our aunts as they looked very, very similar. Our older twin cousins came up to us. "Alyson, can you tell which one is which?" one of them says energetically and the other one tries to match. "Your Vanessa" I said to the energetic one "and Your Vivian" "And you are correct!!" Vanessa said as they both gave us a hug "Make sure you eat plenty," they both said at the same time before blending into the crowd. "Go eat" Mammy said to us as she began to say rapid fire Tagalog to her siblings. In one ear out the other, I think to myself.
