First Encounter
Chapter 1 First Encounter It was a cold day in December. My mother and I were on our way home from the employment office. Mother was a beautiful woman. She had long blonde hair and big green eyes. She was a small and fragile looking woman kind of like a porcelain doll. My mother got fired from her last job because her manager tried to sleep with her, but she wouldn’t do that. Her boss fired her at the stop because she didn’t do what he wanted. I, on the other hand, was a small girl of five years old. I had curly red hair and rosy red cheeks because of the harsh cold wind. We were trudging through the snow and mother was walking too slow, so I ran ahead to play in the playground. Every time we go to the employment office, we walk by the park so that I can play. I ran up to the slide and climbed the stairs. When I slide down, I see a crow fly by and I run after it so that I can try to catch it. “Kat, please don’t run too far!” mother yelled after me. As I ran after the crow, I saw a man in black walk past me. He was tall 6’ 3” maybe 6’ 4” and bald with a spider web tattooed on the back of his head.  He was pale and sickly looking with deep-set black eyes. Just as he passed me, the snow started to pick up and I couldn’t see my mother anymore. I could tell that something wasn’t right so I tried to run back to my mother. I called out to her and she yelled back, “Kat! KAT! Where are you honey?” I ran in the direction of her voice. Then I saw a dark figure and ran toward it thinking that it was my mother. While I’m running towards the figure, I see that some of the snow is stained red and there are pieces of cloth scattered across the ground like there had been a fight. When I got close enough to see that the person that I was running towards was the man that I had seen before, I back up a little and stopped. Then I notice that he is holding my mother and I call out to her and she says my name softly as the life slips out of her body. The man drops her lifeless body and turns around smiling at me and with a wicked glint in his eye. There was blood running out of his mouth and the chucks of my mother were still in his teeth. Then when he finally noticed that I was standing there, he started to move toward me and dropped. When he gets back up again, there is a hole the size of a soccer ball in his stomach. Through the hole in his stomach, I saw a man and woman running towards us. They were wearing blue coats, white pants, and hunting boots. On their belts were a wooden stake and a sword. The man was in his teens, maybe his early twenties. He had jet black hair and blue hair, he looked like an angel. He had a small scar above his right eye. The woman had long brown hair in a ponytail. She was small and graceful.  She ran faster than the man did and got to my mother. She got up and started running at the man, but at this point the angelic man had already reached him and decked him in the face. The bad man flew to where the woman was waiting for him. She got a few good punches in before my view was blocked. I looked up to see what had shielded my view and I saw him, the angelic man. He was looking at me with such concern. He must have asked me a question because he was looking at me like he was waiting for an answer. He must have thought that I was in shock or something because he bent down to pick me up. When he did, I noticed a tattoo of a cross with a pair of swords crossing behind it on his neck. When he picked me up, I looked over his shoulder to see what was happening between the woman and the bad man, but they were gone.
