Chapter 25.

2030 Words
“It’s beautiful, Xavier!” she gasped in amusement, her one hand was pressed against her mouth and eyes wide like sausage, completely awestruck by the beautiful island that stood before her. “I bought it on your birthday two years ago,” he informed casually, looking around and holding her other hand, pleased by the thought that she liked it. Tiara looked around, her green eyes were wandering taking in the beauty of the island that was in her sight, the green tropical trees that were sprinting behind; trying to chase their car, the mixture of warm sun and a cold breeze laced with humidity, the natural smell and the white sand on which she oh so wished to walk barefoot fascinated her to the core. She was not really interested when Xavier informed her that he would be taking her on honeymoon, she faked the excitement and pretended to be happy, playing the role of a good wife but in reality, all she had in her mind was this idea of revenge but as soon as they landed on that beautiful tropical island, the idea of revenge never for once came across her mind, her mind was way too focused on the beauty the island had to offer and she found herself wanting to look around, to see every single corner of the island. Xavier who was sitting beside her looked at the glowing face of his wife, her green eyes were twinkling in excitement and amusement, a greedy look to roam around the entire island was plastered on her face and he was delighted by her reaction. Xavier had apparently bought this island because as soon as he looked at the ocean that covered the entire island from every corner he was reminded of Tiara. The colour of ocean that light green as same as the eyes of woman he loved, he knew he had to have it and that’s what he did, he bought that island on her twentieth birthday and had it prepared with everything a person would need to enjoy a luxurious holiday but had never visited it once as he wanted to come to this place with Tiara for the very first time. “what did you name it?” she asked out of curiosity, her head still towards the window and eyes gazing out not sparing a single glance to her husband but he did not mind, as long as she was enjoying while he devoured the sight of his gorgeous wife in front of him. “I have not named it yet,” Xavier sighed, he had tried to think of something but none of the names that appeared in his mind was worthy to be given to this beautiful island. “It’s a shame that an island this beautiful is nameless.” She muttered slowly and found an instant connection with this nameless island emerging into her. She thought that this island was just like her, despite being this beautiful it was yearning to be named just like she had yearn for the freedom to decide for her own self, for her own existence and as the time passed by she found it more similar to her own self, the nameless island represented her as despite having a name that her parents had given her, she was always known as Xavier’s consort. “well, you can name it.” He said nonchalantly, ripping her from the depths of her thoughts and she snapped her head in his direction, looking at him with questioning eyes. He shrugged his shoulders and gave her a carefree smile as he knew what was going on in that pretty head of her, “I know it's mine,” he said ending his words with a long sigh but continued, “and you are my wife so what’s mine is yours as well.” Although he knew Tiara would not be interested in owning the Island. he knew she was the girl who appreciated small gestures and naming an Island would mean a lot to her. Tiara was the kind of person who would not be happy if you bought her a whole garden but would dance in happiness if you would give her a single flower with love and sincerity. He knew for her small things mattered the most and he had planned to do every small thing along with the big ones in order to make her fall in love with him. She could see through his soul, she knew what he was trying to do. He wanted her to love him and was aiming to earn it but unfortunately for him that was absolutely impossible, she did not have a single ounce of love to offer, her heart had turned barren and only the poisonous weeds of hatred were left in that deserted land and all of it was for him. Their car finally halted in front of the villa and he stepped out as the driver opened the door for him and before he could go to her side and opened the door for her she had already stepped out and was looking at the villa with open mouth, it was beautiful and she was mesmerized by its beauty. “do you like it?” he asked as he came to her side and put his hand on her lower back. “yes, it is beautiful.” She answered honestly and with that being said they walked inside followed by the two servants who dragged their luggage in. It was already evening when they reached their villa and she found herself very tired from the long flight that climbing up the stairs seemed a tough task to her and she sat on the stairs, intending to remove her heels but gasped when he picked her up in his arms. “Xavier?” “I did not get to carry you to the bedroom on our wedding night, let me do it today.” He whispered huskily looking down at her with his grey orbs shining in raw passion and Tiara nodded, biting down her lower lip to contain a no that was threatening to come out of her mouth. She was tired but she did not deny him. Xavier pushed the door open with his leg and walked inside with his wife in his arms and gently laid her down on the bed and moved forward to kiss her. He pressed his lips against her and they kissed for a while and she prepared herself mentally for physical intimacy but he pulled away. “we should freshen up and I know you must be hungry.” He said teasingly looking at the face of his wife that had turned flushed. “You should go and take a shower, I will take one in another room.” He walked out as he said that and Tiara went inside the bathroom their bedroom had. It was after thirty minutes when he walked back inside his bedroom, freshly showered that his hair was wet and the droplets of water were running down his body, caressing his chiseled chest and strong abs. He was naked, only a towel wrapped around his torso. The handsome man looked absolutely desiring and almost impossible to resist and what made him even more attractive was the fact that he was aware of how good he looked. Tiara, nonetheless was not fazed by his beauty even a bit as if his charms had no effect on her and it was true, she was not allured by him. If anything, she found him the ugliest person on this planet as he was merciless and selfish and for Tiara his Adonis like looks never mattered because that man was a walking black hole that radiates darkness and held the capability to swallow down your happiness. “I forgot to take any clothes.” He explained with a teasing tone when he found his wife looking at him, oblivious of the fact that what actually was going on in her mind. She faked a sweet smile and walked up to where he was standing with a towel that she was using to dry her hair when he had walked in and hiked herself up, supporting herself on her tiptoes. She flipped the towel around his head and rubbed it against his head, drying his dripping hair. Xavier stood still in his place letting his wife do what she was doing and held her by her waist to support her, his heart seemed to drum loudly against his chest, touched by her gesture that he mistook for affection and looked at her with fondness. She pulled away when she was satisfied with her work and looked into his eyes, smiling a little as she pretended to be shy and lowered herself on her feet and held his hand, “um, can we um, can we go for a walk after the dinner?” she asked, feigning hesitation in her speech. "Yes, of course we can,” he smiled as he nodded at her and pecked her lips softly, “but aren’t you tired?” he raised his concern with slightly furrowed brows as he clearly remembered that while climbing up the stairs she was totally limping due to exhaustion. “I am but just a little and besides you can carry me if I won’t feel like walking.” She smiled at him, teasing him a little and he liked how she was getting comfortable around him like a real married couple and he reckoned that it won’t take long for her to fall for him if she kept opening up to him without any hesitation.  The couple had their dinner peacefully which was cooked by one of the maids, they enjoyed their meal as they watched the sun setting down, leaving the sky orangish blue with pigments of pink from the huge glass window of their bedroom where they had their dinner with some soft romantic music playing in the background. Once they were finished with their dinner they went downstairs and then went to the garden and walked hand in hand, their fingers were intertwined with each other as they strolled around the garden for a while, they both kept silent enjoying the peaceful environment that was laced with the sweet smell of flowers. They sat on a bench under the tree and looked up at the dark sky that was twinkling with stars, her head resting on his broad shoulder, “I like looking at the stars.” She mumbled to herself but due to their closeness he heard her loud and clear and lowered his eyes at her who were clinging to his right arm and found her still gazing at the stars. “The night sky with star provides me solace, I feel like I could always find someone who I have lost in there,” she said drawn by the alluring sky, “look at that twinkling star up there,” she pointed out a single star out of many; the one that was shining brightly and he looked at the corresponding direction, “it looks like my mom was smiling down at me.” She smiled sadly as she remembered her late mother, her heart felt a stinging ache. Her eyes blurred and a glossy layer appeared in front of her green orbs, she was mad at her mother for making a promise to marry her off to Xavier but yet she was positive that if she had been alive then she would have surely changed her mind about it because she knew her mother loved her a lot and would never have coerced her into anything. Xavier wrapped his arm around her when he heard her sniff and looked down at her only to found her crying silently and he pulled her closer to his body, embracing her entirely that her head was pressed against his chest and he let her cry silently and felt an emotional nostalgia catching up to him as he too remembered his deceased mother who died with Tiara’s in a car accident.
