Prologue
Warning: This chapter contains adult themes. Viewer discretion is advised. TW: blood/murder It had been a while since the last time that Deiros Momus had last fed. Tonight was his perfect opportunity. He scanned the dully lit room with his piercing blue-green eyes. Disco lights lit the room just enough so you could tell whether the person you were dancing next to was male or female. His eyes landed on one of the girls on the center of the dance floor. Perfect. He licked his lips and made his way over to her. She looked to be alone. “Can I buy you a drink?” He yelled over the loud dance music. The girl bit her lip, smiling, and nodded. The two of them walked over to the bar and ordered some shots. “What’s your name?” Deiros asked her. “Mei,” She answered, grabbing a tequila shot and throwing the liquid into her mouth, “And yours?” “I’m a man of secrets,” Deiros said. “I like it,” Mei smiled once again. “You have a beautiful smile,” Deiros told her. She giggled, “And you have beautiful arms,” She said, noticing his toned arms.  Deiros cracked a smile. “Why thank you.” “So what should I call you, man of mystery?” Mei said, grabbing another shot. “You can call me Deiros,” He answered, grabbing one of the shots remaining on the counter of the bar. “Are you here with anyone?” He already knew the answer. “No. I just came to party and maybe hookup,” Mei said, feeling the alcohol kick in. Deiros continued the conversation, making Mei laugh and giggle. She eventually leaned over and kissed him. He didn’t resist. He was getting what he wanted, after all. A few kisses later, Deiros said, “Let’s get out of here.” Mei dragged him to the entrance. She was pretty wasted at this point in the night, and Deiros was easily able to lead her back to his apartment. “Where are we going again?” Mei asked in her now sluggish voice. “To my house,” Deiros said, walking into a building.  He unlocked one of the doors and swung it open, leading Mei inside. Mei kissed him a few more times as Deiros led her to his bed. “Do you like to play dirty?” He asked her, almost whispering. Mei nodded and let herself be laid against his cold white sheets. He got up and tied each of her wrists to the bedposts along with her ankles. He threw his shirt off, revealing numerous bruises and scars lacing his chest. Mei giggled once again as he blindfolded her. It would be the last time she did that. Deiros could feel his heart racing, but he forced himself to calm down.  He grabbed a pair of scissors off of his dresser and cut Mei’s clothes off. She wouldn’t be needing them after tonight. He left nothing but her bra and underwear on. He then grabbed a ball gag from one of his nightstand drawers and got on top of her. “Open your mouth,” He whispered. Mei happily obliged. Deiros clipped the ball gag around her head. He couldn’t contain himself anymore. He shuddered out a steamy sigh onto her neck, making goosebumps run down her back.  He grabbed a scalpel out of his nightstand drawer and ran the cold steel knife along her flat stomach lightly. Mei made a confused moan. Deiros felt goosebumps run down his spine. The thrill of feeding left him jittery. “Mei, Mei, Mei,” He said slowly, tapping the flat of the small blade on her stomach.  Mei filled with fear. Deiros felt her sudden emotion change. He closed his eyes and chuckled, “Didn’t your parents ever tell you not to trust strangers?”  “I’ll tell you exactly what is going to happen,” Deiros said, moving to her ear, “I am going to cut you and kill you,” Mei let out a muffled scream. “Yeah. That’s right, you’re going to die tonight and you’re helpless.” “Mm-mm,” Mei shook her head, tears running down the side of her face. “Yes,” Deiros grabbed her cheeks, noticing the tear stains. He sighed again. This was the best part. Their fear before the pain. He could feel it giving him energy. “Are you ready?” Deiros said, almost groaning with pleasure. Mei struggled against her restraints and shook her head, with her muffled pleading. Deiros lifted the knife from her stomach. Her pleading became more prominent. He brought his arm down with just enough force to pierce her flesh. She let out a muffled scream. He felt her pain give him a rush of adrenaline. He pulled the knife out and looked at the crimson red blood now coating the scalpel. Her blood started streaming down the side of her stomach. She started screaming again as she felt him tense to stab her once more. He brought the scalpel down again, digging it deeper into her stomach, making her stifle another scream. “Don’t worry. This won’t take long. And scream all you want. No one lives in this building except me. No one will hear you,” He said, another wave of goosebumps running down his spine as he tore the blade out of her stomach.  He threw the scalpel to the side of the bed, reaching into his drawer again and pulling out a long, skinny, metal rod. He smacked it across her stomach and legs, leaving a red line of blood along her stomach. He smacked it against her stomach several more times, each time receiving a cry of pain.  Then he pulled out a knife from the drawer. He stabbed her multiple times, staining his sheets with her dark red blood. At this point, Mei was in so much pain, the stabbing felt like the rest of her body. Tears were pouring down the sides of her face, pooling on the bed sheet like her blood. Deiros scowled. She had given up fighting. “Sad, really. I thought you would last longer,” He said simply, slicing Mei’s neck and stabbing her in the heart. She had died within a matter of seconds. Deiros’ face was covered in splashes of her blood. He sighed once more, feeding on the last of her pain and fear, before throwing the knife next to the scalpel and heading to the shower. After he got dressed, he threw on an apron and some gloves and laid out a tarp. He picked up Mei’s now-lifeless body and placed it on the tarp. He grabbed his scalpel off of the bed and carved his name into her stomach: Deiros Momus. He wiped the body down with wipes, getting rid of any fingerprints left on her of him, before neatly wrapping the tarp around her and dragging her body to the door. He grabbed his clothes and the sheets off of the bed and threw them into the washer, covering them in plenty of bleach. As the clothes were washing, he took the knife, scalpel, and metal rod and washed them, dowsing them in bleach, and scrubbing them once again. He dried them off and placed them neatly into his nightstand drawer once again. When his sheets finished drying, he placed them back onto his bed and put his clothes into his drawer. He scrubbed his bathtub down, getting rid of every trace of blood left over. He took the apron and rubber gloves off and threw them into the washer. He turned the lights off and laid down as if nothing had just happened.  He woke up early in the morning, gloves and mask on, and took the body of Mei to a park far from his house. He laid her there, removing the tarp and headed back to his house. When he got there, he wiped the tarp down, folded it, and put it back under his sink, all the way in the back. He took the gloves off, placing them with the tarp, and went on with his day, continuing to pretend as if nothing had happened.
