The air between us hung heavy with his confession. I opened my mouth, but no words came. I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t imagine such a thing—Cain in love with a man? I looked at him, studying his face to check if he was joking, but the serious look on his face told me he was being sincere.
For a moment, I was silent, unsure of what to say, but Alpha Cain remained quiet, waiting for me to speak.
