His intention

I know I don't need makeup to look beautiful, but I will love to learn some basics. Since I'm not super confident yet, maybe I'll start simple with just lipstick and powder, at least I'll feel a bit more put together and look good

I wore a short yellow long-sleeve gown with black heels and a black bag. I usually pack my hair into a ponytail, so all I did was brush my hair, secure it with hair gel and pack it up with hair band, Then I put my glasses on, it’s not because it was recommended, it’s because I always feel more comfortable wearing them.

I looked in the mirror to see the changes, a smile crept onto my lips. I look amazing because this is the first time I've dressed up for someone. I should call Mike.

As I dialed Mike's number, he wasn't picking up. I tried again, but the silence persisted. Wednesday evenings were his social hour. he will be at the space Bar next to the convenience store, hanging with his friends. The ones I avoided like the plague. It was 6:39 PM, a mere thirty-minute taxi ride away. I flagged one taxi down outside my house. Settling in, I pulled out my phone and messaged Anne.

The words on my screen blurred as I chatted with her, a futile distraction from the clock, 7:03 PM. We were almost there, but the traffic ahead! Why today? Of all days, why? The convenience store was a stone's throw away; I could sprint there. If I stayed trapped in this taxi till 8:00 PM, i might lose my cool.

"Sir, I would like drop here" I said to the man

"But were almost there ma’am, Miss can you wait for like 25 minutes". The man said trying to be considerate

"It's fine sir, if I walk I should be there between 8-10 minutes" I replied.

I tossed a $100 at the driver, telling him to keep the change. The door swung open, and I hit the pavement, ready to sprint but the driver's voice cut through my rush

"Miss, your money is $5, and this is too much! the fare's only $5. You gave me $100!" He was stunned by the amount in his hand, but I waved him off.

"It's fine" i smile as i drop off the car and I heard the man shouting.

"Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! Thank you Miss" he shouted happily while staring at the 100$ bill

I responded with a smile while I ran as fast as I could but it is a little bit hard because am wearing heels. I managed to get there exactly 9 minutes so I rest for a bit before going in, I walk slowly to make my posture look stylish.

I look at myself from my phone screen and patch some powder on my face because I look somehow and I reapplied my lipstick, I was about to go in when a woman and I bumped into each other,

“Ahh!” We both shouted and apologize to each other as she pass by

Oh, my shoes are dusty already! I bent down to clean my shoe, then I heard Mike's voice. I smile and said "There he is" I raise my head up to look at him.

They are sitting close to the door, their voice is loud so it was easy for me to hear them. I was very eager to go say hi to him and confess about my feelings to Mike but my leg freezes as I heard what he says to his friends

"Didn't I say I will make that girl fall head over heels for me?" Mike said to his friends.

"You're the boss, Mike. I'm still surprised how you pull it off. I always knew that girl was a total b***h! She turn me down cold when I asked her out" Josh said, one of his friends.

I quickly hide to the side where they can’t see me.

I saw Mike grinning and his friends laughing so hard. I turned Josh down because I don't like how he always behaves, he's such a jerk. They're four altogether with Mike, and three of them have asked me out. I turned them down, and now I understood the game they're playing... but why Mike?

"Do you know that we almost kissed last night"

"What! You don't mean it" they all shouted.

"You know I always flirt with her but I didn’t have the plans of kissing her but since I saw that she wasn't resisting, I move my face closer, and she totally ruined it by sneezing. I would have help her with her virgin lips” he said chuckling mockingly and all his friends laughed.

I have never felt this way in my entire life, i feel so embarrassed, why me! Why is my life a topic of their conversation?

"But are you sure you don't have feelings for her?" Josh said with a cunning face.

"Of course not!" he shouted so hard, it made me realize he really hates me.

"Me? That girl with glasses? no makeup! Always on ponytail and the most worst part is that she always wears rags! I’m always embarrassed whenever we are together" he said and they all burst into laughter

"But I bet she will think we like her and that’s why we asked her out" one of his friend, Maxwell said

"Yeah she will, Not knowing that we all like Anne" josh said.

What! A tear dropped onto my face, and I couldn't stop crying , all I could do was cover my mouth.
