Piper felt an excruciating pain at the back of her head.
There was also this ungodly numbness of her eye and jaw, and her forehead seemed to be shattered. Instantly she heard voices and for a second she thought it was a dream.
The voices became louder and began to sound so real. Gradually she picked the smell of the cell, and when she tried to move, she felt the cold ground beneath her skin.
Piper fought to regain consciousness—as she felt the voice coming closer to where she was. she tried to protest. she felt panic. she felt so helpless, she desperately fought to get a grip on herself and everything happening around her.
Where was she?
The question echoed in her mind. Piper froze instantly, but her gut twisted and her pulse began hammering.
