8 Andie knew she shouldn’t have left when she did. She saw Cody wander off and thought about going after him. She forced herself to talk to her grandmother a few minutes longer, then made an excuse and left. The only place she wanted to be was home. Away from the crowd and the commitment and the eyes following her every move. But she did not expect to find Cody at her house. “Hey,” he said, taking a step toward her. “I was just checking on things for the morning.” Andie blanched. “Inside my house?” Cody glanced at the door and shook his head. “No. I, uh, no.
