Andie had never been so happy to see a plate of food in her life. She hated to admit it, but she had taken Alyssa for granted over the last few months. Her cousin had been getting up early and helping Zach, Kristen’s older brother, in the kitchen since she got back. With Alyssa still on her honeymoon, Andie was called on to help.
And she was exhausted.
Her job required her to be up early and at work close to breakfast time. Her weekends had become her refuge. The time she could relax at home and not have to be ‘on’ for the guests and whoever else ended up at Amavita. She enjoyed her job, but it was exhausting to be happy constantly. Most of their guests were kind and loved being there, but every once in a while they had those guests that acted like they deserved special treatment.
