"Watch where your going girl!" "Sorry! In a hurry!" My lungs were on fire, legs melting from the inside out. I couldn't believe I was already this late! And on my first day! Pushing through the front doors I felt like I was going to collapse right then and there. New day, new job, new life that was the plan. No more mistakes or being clumsy I had to make this work I couldn't ever go back not anymore. It wasn't just my life on the line now, I had my grams to worry about too. They warned me once already and made sure I knew a second time was not an option. "Trinity! We have been waiting for you, Mr. Black has already gone up to his office. But he is looking forward to meeting his new assistant. Come with me right away and I will show you where you are going to work from." Janice was the sweetest lady I had ever met, she offered me this job after I stopped to help gather a file that had fallen off the mile high stack on her car. I just knew it would be what I needed. As she turned away I quickly gathered myself, brushing off my new clothes pinning my hair back into a bun. Following her quick footsteps we rounded the corner as I bashed against something incredibly tough. I bounced backwards when a strong hand grasped my arm to keep me from falling. "Woah what's the rush here?" That voice is new, but man do I like it. I raised my eyes to see the face attached to this body carved from the gods. Oh my goddess this whole man was a gift from the gods. He had jet black hair and green eyes that were piercing into my soul. He had tattoos peaking up out of his lose collar. "Trinity, this is Mr. Black. Mr. Black I apologize profusely I seemed to have been a little quick with my pace. This is your new assistant of course, I was just showing her to her desk outside your office." Holy hell, this is my boss? And just my luck I just had to bash my brilliant brains right against his chest on my first day...way to go Trin way to go. "I am so, so, sorry! I really didn't mean to I just was in such a cluster trying to impress you and I'm not always that clumsy, well maybe sometimes, but okay now I'm just rattling cause I'm embarrassed I'll stop talking now. Hi, Im Trinity." I stuck my hand out, that's what people do in these situations right? s**t, maybe not he didn't shake it yet. He ran a hand down his face, Wait is he laughing at me? And that hand up through his dark curls. He was! "Janice can you show her to her desk and allow her a few minutes to gather her thoughts. I have to step out for a little bit and while Im gone I would like you to run her through my daily schedule please." He gave me a wink and side stepped past me quietly wishing me luck at a level only I could here. Man what was that about, I feel like I just did a spin on my head. "Of course Sir! Right away!" Janice started to usher me forward when I didn't take another step. What a whirlwind okay breathe breathe you got this just shake it off! Things happen its okay this wont be the end of my fresh life. I came to a stop at the end of the hallway where two large black doors remained closed with a lock on the outside. A beautiful desk sat out front with a computer and a small sitting area. "This is where you will be my dear, lots to learn. Lets get to it!" After what seemed to be enternity Janice had left me alone once I had gotten the just of what I would be learning. I brushed the lose hairs from my face and let out a loud sigh. "Not enough work?" s**t. The hair on my arms rose, I know that voice. I lifted my head slowly. "Mr. Black! No, of course! Just a lot of information and I can handle that! There should be no worry! I ca-" "Woah, woah slow it down. From now on call me Kane please, my father was Mr. Black." "Yes Mr. Bla-" His eyes jumped quickly to mine giving me a warning stare "I mean Kane" "Perfect. Now how is the work going, I don't want you to feel overwhelmed it is your first day of course. Have you taken a break yet? Lunch perhaps?" "Oh no sir, I wanted to show my professional state and just try to work it through." "Well that wont work for too long, one has to eat. Please run down to the cafe and get something to eat. Let them know I sent you for it, then bring it back here to enjoy." "If you insist sir, I shouldn't be too long I'll be very fast." "Trinity was it?" I nod my head once, "take your time work will still be here when you get back" He gave a quick smirk and walked towards the black doors.
