Everything was almost going well. Lucas was coming every day to the company. I was doing my work as his PA. And work was going smoothly. He was nice to me making sure that I was feeling well. We didn't speak much about our matters, not after that day on the rooftop. But I was giving him time as he asked. Being patient, because I knew that I wasn't the only one, the two ones us to be together. And that idea is the only thing that gives me power.
I talked to Stephan every day, he was nice and friendly. And yet every single time I would talk to him Lucas seemed nervous and angry but I was getting used to it.
However, one Friday evening as I was getting ready to leave the office I heard a knocking at my door, when I looked around I saw Stephan standing there.
"Hey," I said while putting my things inside my bag
"Hi, you leaving?" He seemed a little nervous not like every other day.
"Yeah. Why do you need something?" I was Finally done getting my things together.
"Well, I was wondering are you free tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I guess. I don't remember having anything" I kept thinking for a moment and going through my schedule, then I give him a nod to confirm.
"That's good. Cause I do remember that someone owes me a date" he was half smiling.
I totally forgot about the date thing. It has been a while since then and he never brought it up so it completely escaped my mind.
"Yeah. That thing" I do know that I agreed to go with him, but for some reason, I don't feel like it, especially with the Lucas situation I didn't want things to get complicated.
" You seem hesitant. Wait are you seeing someone? "
"No I'm not" to be truthful, I wasn't. Yes, something is up between the boss and me however, nothing is clear and I know damn well that the two of us aren't dating.
"So what is it? " He was searching for an answer. He was right beside I promised him to go on a date and saying no doesn't seem right. Does it?
" Sure then, just tell me when and where and I'll be there." I smiled at him and he smiled back
"I'll pick you up okay? And I'll text you the time tomorrow"
He said his goodbyes and I said mine.
I went to Luca's office to let him know that I'm leaving. I knocked and entered after he told me so.
"Sir, I'll be leaving now if you need something." He seemed busy but he looked at me for a moment
" No you're free to go" he got back to work and I left the office.
These last couple of days he seemed busy and he was avoiding me I think but I still think none of it and gave him the time he needed.
The problem right now is this date, there's something within me that doesn't want to go, but I had to. I decided to talk to Kate and Lilly after I get back home because I couldn't think straight.
" I think you should go," I told Kate and Lilly everything that happened and they both agreed that I should go on the date.
"It's the first time that I agree with Kate on something. That man, Lucas he never set things between you two so technically you're not dating and therefore you have the right to go out with whoever you want. Plus you promised Stephan you would go with him. And it wouldn't look good if you stand him up like this"
They were both right, and I decided to go. That is why the next morning when Stephan texted me, I made sure I was ready by the time he gets to me.
I was waiting at the door of my building when I saw his car approaching. I waved at him and when the car stopped he was about to go out so that he can open my door I guess but I told him that it was no need for it and so I got in.
" Did I make you wait?"
"No, not really " he smiled and started the car again.
"Good" I gave him a smile too.
"So where are we going? " He never told me where the date was which made me struggle a lot in terms of choosing the right outfit this morning. I ended up with a small black dress a jean jacket and some comfortable heels.
"It's a secret, but I promise; it will be fun" I pouted for a while and got my puppy eyes out but he wouldn't say anything so I had to give up in the end.
" You look beautiful by the way. It's refreshing to see you in a casual outfit" I blushed a little.
"Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself glad you ditched the suit for once" he chuckled.
We spent like twenty minutes in the car with him driving and me trying to figure out where are we going while making small talk.
After what seemed like forever we finally arrived at
Amusement park?
"Is it for real?" I asked him still not sure what was happening. "Are we going inside? " I must've looked like six years old, but I don't care it's been years since I went to an amusement park and I was really excited. I looked at him wanting him to confirm my idea and all he did was smile.
As soon as the car stopped I jumped out of it, so quick that I was about to fall.
Stephan started laughing at me
"Easy there" he locked the car and came next to me " I can't believe you're this excited for the park"
" It's been years since my last time in such a place, I miss it. Plus it reminds me of my childhood when I was young and free" I was spreading my hands in the air.
" Well, I'm glad you like it" he seemed content.
I turned to look at him and " thank you" I was so happy.
" We aren't here to spend the time in the parking, shall we" he extended his hand towards me and I grabbed it.
"Yes, we shall".
