REUNION

Chapter 5:
The sun was shining bright as Erica and Lily locked up their apartment and headed to the beach. They were in high spirits, celebrating Erica's new job as a nurse at Ravenswood Hospital.
"I'm so proud of you, Erica!" Lily squealed, giving her a hug. "We have to celebrate!"
Erica grinned, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "I know, I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for coming with me today, Lil."
Lily smiled, winking at her. "Of course, girl! I wouldn't miss it for the world. Besides, I've got some news of my own to share."
Erica's ears perked up, intrigued. "Spill the beans, Lil! What's going on?"
Lily just laughed, shaking her head. "Not yet, let's wait till we get to the beach. I've invited Alex to come with us, by the way."
Erica's eyes widened in surprise. "Alex from the bookstore? You're moving fast, Lil!"
Lily shrugged, a mischievous glimmer in her eye. "Hey, when you know, you know, right?"
Erica laughed, shaking her head. "You're something else, Lil. I'll be excited to meet him."
As they set up their beach blankets and umbrellas, Erica spotted a familiar face in the distance. Her eyes widened in surprise as she realized it was Nelson, a friend from high school. He also stared at her whilst walking slowly towards her direction, smiling.
"Erica! Erica Cyril!" Nelson called out, almost close to her.
Erica's face lit up with a huge smile as she rushed to hug him. "Nelson! Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?"
Nelson grinned, hugging her back. "I could ask you the same thing! I live around here now. Small world, huh?"
Erica laughed, still in shock. "Wow, I haven't seen you in ages! How have you been?"
Lily watched the reunion with interest, a curious expression on her face. Erica turned to her, smiling. "Lil, this is Nelson, a friend from high school. Nelson, this is my roommate, Lily."
Lily smiled, shaking hands with Nelson. "Nice to meet you, Nelson."
Nelson smiled back. "Nice to meet you too, Lily. You guys are celebrating something?"
Erica nodded, grinning. "Yeah, I just got a job at Ravenswood Hospital!"
Nelson's face lit up with excitement. "That's amazing, Erica! Congratulations!"
As the day went on, Erica, Lily, Nelson, and Alex (who arrived a little while later) had a blast together. They laughed, joked, and talked about old times.
Erica was grateful to have Nelson there, reminiscing about their school days and sharing stories about their lives.
As the sun began to set, Erica felt a pang of sadness. She didn't want the day to end, but she knew she had to get ready for her first day at Ravenswood Hospital the next day.
"Let's get some food, guys," Lily suggested, as they packed up their things. "I'm starving!"
They headed to a nearby restaurant, where they feasted on seafood and laughed around the table. Erica felt grateful for her friends and this new chapter in her life.
As they finished up, Nelson turned to her and smiled. "It's been great catching up, Erica. We should do it again soon."
Erica smiled back, feeling a sense of nostalgia. "Definitely, Nelson. It's been too long."
Lily and Alex left a little while later, and Erica and Nelson walked along the beach, enjoying the cool evening breeze.
"It's great to have you back in my life, Nelson," Erica said, smiling at him.
Nelson smiled back, his eyes sparkling. "Same here, Erica. Let's not lose touch again, okay?"
Erica nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude. "Definitely, Nelson. Friends for life."
