Nixx I stopped by the tattoo shop to find out when JJ planned to put me back on her schedule. Instead, I left knowing she had gone home early after a bad morning. That was all Stitch had been willing to tell me. “What happened?” I had asked. “Not my story.” The answer had been firm without being hostile. He was protecting her privacy, and I respected him for it. He had already made it abundantly clear that JJ was family to him and that anyone showing too much interest in her would be measured carefully before being allowed anywhere near her life.
