I stepped into Dark Crest Pack territory, inhaling the familiar scent of the forest mixed with the crisp mountain air. The weight of what happened at the Golden Claws Pack still sat heavy on my shoulders, making my steps slower than usual. The moment I reached the mansion, my Beta, Alvin, was already outside, waiting for me.
His sharp eyes studied me as I approached. He always had a way of reading me, and I could already see the questions in his expression.
“Alpha,” Alvin greeted, bowing his head slightly. “Where is our future Luna?”
I let out a slow breath, rolling my shoulders. I had expected this question, but answering it didn’t come easy.
“Her name is Darlene,” I said, keeping my voice steady. “She is the daughter of Alpha Victor of the Golden Claws Pack.”
