Elijah shook his head. "It's alright. The maid will take care of it in the morning." Frowning, Joana brushed past him and swiftly retrieved a towel and broom from the kitchen. "Nonsense," she declared, urging him to step aside upon her return. Kneeling down, she diligently wiped the spilled wine from the floor, then skillfully swept up the broken glass into the dustpan, disposing of it in the trash. "See? It only took a few seconds." Swaying slightly, Elijah turned towards the kitchen. "I need another glass," he mumbled. Deepening her frown, Joana grasped his shoulder firmly, taking him by surprise, and guided him to the sofa. "Sit here," she commanded firmly, using a no-nonsense tone. "I'll get it for you." Without protest, Elijah obeyed, remaining seated as Joana entered the kitchen
