CHAPTER SIX: THE FIGHT

1487 Words
The air was filled with heat and tension as we stared at each other. I could see and feel the hate in her eyes, making my skin crawl. Kian stood on the other side of the field, his hands folded in front of him, his eyes dark and haunting. She circled me, transforming into her werewolf form. Her fur was off-white, not as white as she claimed. "That is cheating. Freya is still half human," Anna muttered behind me, anxious about the fight. She lunged forward, her jaws open, revealing her fangs as she aimed for my throat. I dodged to the side, her claws swiping through the air, narrowly missing my face. I countered with a swift kick, but she nimbly jumped away. I was getting angry at being marked without my permission and now being in a fight with a girl who wanted my mate. She attacked from the side, her teeth getting a hold of my leg in a death grip. I punched her wolf with my right hand as pain filled my body. We both tumbled to the ground, our bodies rolling. I stood up, attacking her with a kick hitting straight at her tummy and another kick. I could see blood where I hit her, making the pain in my legs non-existent. The field grew silent, and I could feel everyone holding their breath as we circled each other. I was the first to move, sending a punch through her skull. "Ahhh," I let out a sharp cry as her claws dug deep into my shoulders, tearing the flesh and fresh blood oozing out of the wound. She was strong, stronger than I expected, but I was a hunter. I gripped her neck tightly, strangling her. "Submit," I yelled, my eyes changing colors, which I wasn't aware of. She stayed silent, and I grew angrier, increasing the pressure of my hands. She took a swipe at me, and I threw her to the ground with a thud, leaves flying around. "Submit, Rain," I said, gritting my teeth as I exuded dominance over her. I looked at her and knew she was injured as she had transformed into her human form. I had won and had no reason to deal with her further, so I walked towards Anna. I could feel a force targeting me from behind, and I turned swiftly, holding her hands. "Despicable," I muttered, angry at what she just did. The fight had already ended. "I'm the mate of your Alpha and your Luna, so you will submit. Submit, Rain," I stared deep into her eyes as I said those words to her, asserting dominance. "Freya, your eyes," I heard whispers around me, but all my focus was on the girl kneeling before me. I could feel something like a vine trying to intertwine with her mind. It was as if I could see into her. "Urrrgghh," I gasped, shifting my eyes from hers in surprise. "Ahhhhhh," I heard the student scream as blood poured out from Rain's eyes. The last thing I saw before fainting was Kian's blue eyes. My eyes fluttered open. I tried to sit upright slowly, but it felt like someone was banging my head. I tried to sit upright again, groaning in pain. My whole body felt sore and painful. "She is awake," I heard Anna say. "How do you feel?" Miss Wincroft asked, with a frown etched on her face. "What happened?" I asked, looking confused. I've been taken to the hospital twice in less than a day. What is going on? The room fell silent at my question. I couldn't understand when the memories came rushing to me. I immediately touched my shoulders, gasping in pain. "Don't touch the gauze for the time being," the school nurse instructed, giving me a look. "Miss Hunter, what were the instructions I gave you when you first came to Skythia Academy? Not only did you ignore them, but you have been the center of attention since you arrived," Miss Wincroft's frown looked permanent. I frowned at her words, "I didn't ask to be marked, neither did I ask to be challenged," I responded defiantly, my eyes turning red with hurt. I didn't do anything, so why was she blaming me? The silence felt long as everyone in the room held their breath. "We will discuss your punishment later, Miss Hunter," Miss Wincroft said, pushing her glasses upwards as she left the room. "You have a lot of guts," Abby told me with a smirk on her face. "How is Rain?" I asked. Although she was annoying, I didn't want her to be hurt. "Still in a coma, but she will be fine," she responded. "Freya, you were so dashing on the field. Your eyes changed colors to white," Anna gushed, narrating the fight vividly. "What?" I was surprised at her words. Then I remembered those vines entering into Rain's head. Were they from me? Did anybody else see it? "Yes, your eyes changed to white. It was strange," Abby said quietly. "I've never seen anything like it before. "I heard the council would be here soon with a healer to see you," Abby informed me with a curious look on her face. "I also want to know what happened." "I think it's from the bite," Anna said, looking at both of us. "Why do you think so?" I was scared at her words. Was there something wrong with me? "Maybe you are changing into a werewolf." As soon as I heard her words, I gasped. I was the heir to the Hunter clan. Would I be disowned if I turned into a werewolf? "Calm down, Freya. I will go to the library and do more research on it." "Knock, knock." Someone knocked at the door and pushed it open. It was Kian, and the energy in the room became charged instantly. The hairs on my body stood up, and a longing to go to him arose in me, but he was already before me. "Gasp." We both inhaled sharply as our hands touched. The world around me melted away, leaving only him in my gaze. "How are you, Freya?" his deep, melodious voice asked. I kept silent, still immersed in the feeling he gave me. "Freya," Anna whispered, pinching me while laughing softly. "I'm fine," I finally replied, blushing at how stupid I must have looked. It must be the mating bond. "Can we talk privately?" He looked at my friends, who took this as their cue to leave. "I'm still pissed that you marked me without my consent," I hit the nail on the bull's eyes. "I'm sorry, but you are my mate," I could feel his emotions surging. He held my waist and dragged me towards him. The tension between us grew, his eyes locked with mine. I could feel my heart racing as his hands reached out, touching my cheeks. I felt a shiver down my spine as he leaned in, his lips inches from mine. His lips touched mine, and I felt a shiver of excitement. "Wow," I whispered as his tongue touched mine. I pushed him away a bit, my chest heaving. "Can you feel this? We belong to each other," he whispered, our foreheads touching. "Look what we have here, a pair of lovers," Marcus mocked, walking into the room. "I had no idea you wanted a mate badly. You should have come to me, baby girl," he said with an evil smirk and a dark look in his eyes. I could feel Kian getting angry as he stood in front of me. "I'm not interested in you, Vampire," I told him, the disgust evident on my face. Even though I disliked being marked, I hated vampires more. "Boring," Marcus walked over to the side, sitting down in the empty chair placed in the room. Anna and Abby walked into the room with food in their hands. "We brought some food for you," Anna said with a smile, coming to my side. Giving a side-eye at the cold boy beside me. "Just ignore him," I said to her, taking the food from her, but it was snatched by Marcus. "That's not for you, and you don't eat food," Anna stamped her feet, annoyed with him. "Cute, it's mine now, human," he looked like a big bully as he opened the carton and sniffed it in disgust. "We brought enough, just ignore him," Abby played the peacemaker, sharing the food. "I heard you gave everyone a freaking show, Hunter," Marcus rested his back on the seat. He looked laid-back and relaxed. "Marcus," Kian called out coldly, his voice low and deadly. "Whatever, see you losers later," he said as he walked out of the room. "Stay away from him," Kian warned. I rolled my eyes at his words and started eating. I knew I needed all the energy I could get.
