Alpha Keda's Prey

Laura's scream made her mother rush to her room holding her daughter dear to her saying, "It's okay Laura, mummy is here now."

Laura opened her eyes and had a deep relief realizing she was just dreaming.

"Are you okay now? I guess it's just a bad dream." Her mom inquired, and she nodded saying, "Yes mom, It looks so real, I was so scared and lonely."

"Worry no more dear child, it's just a dream." Her mom said kissing her cheek.

"Thank you so much, mom." She told her mom who smiled back at her.

"It's late midnight, you should continue with your rest, you got a big day tomorrow."

"There's no big day mom, we are just keeping the rules by going with a sacrifice to the Alpha King."

"I know, but it's still a big day, it's an honor for my nineteen years old daughter to meet with the Alpha King, I am happy as well."

"Mother, I am feeling sleeping already, I will continue with my rest like you said earlier." She made use of this to avoid much talk from her mother.

Her mother left the room looking at her only child resting properly on the bed to sleep.

"I am lucky to have such a cute daughter like her." Her mother remarked before heading to her room where Laura's father is.

"What happened?" Laura's father asked.

"Bad dreams, you were right."

"Having a nightmare at the age of nineteen, I have a feeling she has a role to play in the fate of the three kinds."

"Not again, you are so obsessed with prophecies and destinies, we are just humans and serving the werewolves' clan, now I see where our daughter got her attitude from." She replied rudely.

Laura's father is always fond of reading books that talk about the past, prophecy, and lots more but his wife never believes in these. She wanted her husband and daughter to accept their fate of being just humans having no help to render to the werewolves' clan.

"My dear wife, soon you will understand." He said to his wife who sigh.

"By the way, I want our daughter to dress very attractive to the Alpha home tomorrow, you know Alpha Keda is still very much single, our daughter might be lucky then we can move to a top life." She fantasizes.

"Come on wife, our daughter is a human and not a werewolf, Alpha Keda will surely have his destined mate."

"And so? The last king had two wives, do you know the respect we will get if our daughter becomes Queen?"

"I am not in support of that, I prefer our child to be with someone like Rex, he is hardworking and responsible too." He added, and his wife got angry saying, "I need to sleep now, good night."

"Good night dear wife."

*ALPHA HOME*

The elders were having a meeting without the presence of Alpha Keda.

"This is wrong, Alpha Keda is supposed to be present here with us." One of the elders of the council spoke.

"Well he is busy with other affairs, let's go straight to the reason we are here." Another Elder spoke and disunity took over the meeting.

"What can be so important than this gathering? I was not in support of making him the king, I still wonder how you all convince me."

"Come on, you don't expect us to live the past sixty years without a king? King Audrey died, same with his son and the son's mate."

"Fine, let's say the rumor was true, did we see the body of Ricky? If he was truly dead, how come his body was not retrieved like his father?"

"Enough." The Supreme Elder cautioned them, and they all kept silenced immediately.

"We are here for an important meeting and not to deliberate about what happened sixty years ago, Ricky died, period and the person we should respect is his stepbrother Keda."

"We are sorry Supreme Elder." They bowed blowing air with their hands as a sign of respect.

"Good, after this meeting, everything discuss here will be passed across the Alpha. What are we going to do about the vampires? I heard rumors about some living in disguise with us."

"I doubt if the vampires will have the courage to try that after being defeated by our kinds on repeat."

"Yes, I support him."

"Okay, but let's be vigilant till we find one member of the vampire ourselves to prove the rumor to be true."

They talked about other important things when suddenly one of them said, "It's been years and our Alpha still doesn't have a mate, you know the custom."

"Yes I know the custom so well, immediately one becomes the Alpha and King, his queen should be found immediately but patient all."

"Patient? It's sixty years already." Another added.

"I will also let him be aware, but I know after the next full moon, a queen should be ready for I know he will meet his mate soon." The supreme elder said and they all nodded.

A big black wolf could be seen running in the woods at full speed without stopping, it later caught prey, and immediately one could see the wolf shifting into a handsome young man.

The maids walked to the young man handling his clothes, "Alpha Keda your clothes."

He took the clothes from them and wore them immediately saying, "Get me the Frus Scroll to read with some wine."

"Yes, Alpha Keda." The maid left.

Alpha Keda got brown eyeballs and cute lips, he got the semi-perfect masculine features of a male wolf.

The maid walked to the abandoned library to search for the scroll when she suddenly felt a presence around her.

She started sweating all over and shivering as well wondering what exactly was hovering around her then she got a glimpse and immediately her heart was ripped out as she dropped dead. The killer left in the shadow returning his claws....
