Chapter 17

“Where are you taking these?” The guard asked. “The Alpha’s office. We need to ask all the packs for a DNA test of all these teens. They are possible suspects in an attack on a girl at the school grounds.” I replied honestly. “I will call the Alpha’s office in 10 minutes. That should provide enough time to carefully get there without damaging any of the files. You risk consequences if any get damaged.” The guard said as he locked the door behind me. I started walking away and the Luna was coming. “Luna Liliana please head back to the office, they have me on a timer. I have a lot of possibilities to show you.” I said politely. “Sure, but can I ask. How many files are here?” Luna Liliana asked. “161 including Alistair and myself.” I replied. “You head up first, I will stop by the kitchen to ask them to send up refreshments. I will catch up with you.” Luna Liliana said. I continued on my way to the office. I got to the door and realised my hands were too full and I couldn’t knock. So I tapped with my foot. “Come in.” Said Alpha Lincoln. “Um, can you open the door? I am holding files and if I drop any I am in trouble.” I replied honestly. I heard a laugh as he walked towards the door. “Damon, you do know that each file is on computer as well right?” Alpha Lincoln said. “I’d rather not risk it. Anyway, Alpha Lincoln these are all the possible suspects. There are 64 of ours, from Silver Creek, there are 35 from Alpha Blood, 49 from Shadow Moon and there are 13 from Iron Fangs. But something troubles me.” I told him. “What troubles you?” Alpha Lincoln said. “Well, in the files, I noticed a lot of missing and deaths.” I started to say. “Yes, it was quite sad, its like every 20 years that happens. Most of the members think it is a curse since the divide.” Alpha Lincoln said. “Well, I mean, I noticed that the files have them in all packs except Shadow Moon. There have been no kidnappings and the only deaths are those that died shortly after birth which were still a very low number. And there are some that went missing that were never found.” I told him. “Damon, think about what you are suggesting, you are suggesting that it’s the Shadow Moon pack stealing and killing.” Alpha Lincoln said. “I don’t mean to, but it isn’t a coincidence. Some of the newly added, have been added a week after someone went missing. A baby, could be celebrating their birthday a week later. I think, if we ask a few adults for some DNA tests with the possible ones here and I think we might find a match. I know it’s a big ask, and a even bigger accusation. But can we try it?” I asked him. “We can’t jeopardize our treaty with them without concrete evidence. You need more proof before we accuse them or give anyone false hope of finding their missing children.” Alpha Lincoln said. “But why did no one tell me?” I asked. “Tell you what exactly?” He asked. “My mother’s name was written in there.” I replied. “Wait your mother was missing?” Alpha Lincoln asked. “No, she was the mother of a missing child.” I said. “Why didn’t your dad tell us?” Alpha Lincoln asked. I know he means my uncle as he is my uncle. Luna Liliana told me everything. “Well it was a little bit after I was born. Which means I have a twin. But the day it was written, was the day my mother died. And I can’t help but think that the killer took my sister.” I said. “Look I understand, but you need to take this carefully. Damon, if we accuse anyone of anything, we risk a war and you all are put at risk to go to school daily.” Alpha Lincoln said.
