Falling Apart Thirty-Six: Clay ‘I don’t want Brian. I want my mate who seems to not want me.’ That is what she said to me just before everyone started coming back into the room. My heart is not beating right while her words keep running around in my mind. I have watched as Brian and her have had dinner a couple of times. Sometimes they are surrounded by others sometimes by themselves. They always seem to have fun with each other like they are growing closer. But the way she just said that. ‘I don’t want Brian. I want my mate who seems to not want me.’ I’m tired of fighting this attraction. I’m tired of not being able to be close to her. I’m tired of cuddling to her at night time after she falls asleep then creeping away before she wakes. I’m just tired of fighting what I really want. M
