Casey's POV

the day was unproductive, I was then directed to a small room, with my brothers, we slept together on the same bed, the room was dark and occupied with many clothes and equipment that are not in use, the bed was medium-sized, where it can accommodate three of us.

we all stared at the rising moon, that was peeking through the window, my heart churned at the thought of what had happened in the last twenty-four hours, which made me draw in a deep breath, I tried to adjust myself, but the single thought of what was about to happen to me, made me feel restless.

I then turned to look at my young brothers, they are still very young and their wolves are still incoherent.

" Kerri.." I called out his name gently.

"mmm".

" I know how you both love mum and I want you both to continue loving mum, even when I'm not there," I said gently, my voice laced with pain.

" What did you mean, won't you be with us, while taking care of mum?" he asked gently, his voice etched with pain, I felt guilty, but I am desperate to find a solution, a solution that can bring mother back to me, want to see her close to me and the way she would stretch her lips to a smile.

"don't get me wrong, I'll always be there for you," I said, my voice laced with pain, my heart raced at the slight thought of leaving them tomorrow in other to embark on my journey.

"I love you, sis, please don't ever think of leaving us," Jordan said gently before he wrapped his hands around me.

"I love you too, and always remember that," I said as a tear managed to stain my cheeks, I hate to leave my brothers vulnerable In the hands of strangers, but I don't have a choice. I have to save my mother, even if it caused my life in the process because she has served more than a mother to me, she was always there when my father wasn't, I feel like she's my friend, I couldn't bring myself to think of not being with her, I tried as much to keep a calm expression before I managed to nuzzled closer to my brothers then I doze off, hoping for the best.

In the middle of the night, I decided to start preparing to leave, I don't want my brothers to notice that I'm gone, I know they would understand my plight.

then I drew in a deep breath, before I arched a brow towards my brothers, trying to be sure if they were both asleep, I was sure that they were both asleep, therefore I release a sigh of relief, before tried to be out of their grip, by trying to be slow in my actions.

I release a deep sigh of relief, when I was out of their grip, I then went towards the clothes which were sprawled around the room, and I took a deep breath before I started packing the clothes in my backpack.

when I was done, I turned to look at my brothers who were sleeping peacefully, my heart churned at the thought of leaving them both, so I decided to place soft kisses on their cheeks before I left.

when I was gone, I stared at the full moon that was still shining its bright light under the dimly lit environment.

I packed my hair into a bun, before I started walking towards the deep and eerie forest, but only to hear the voice of Jordan.

"I know you are leaving us, I know you were going to leave us," he said, his voice trembled with fear, but I have no other option but to try and explain things to him, I bend down to his level before I cupped his cheeks while making him look at me, which he did.

" I have to safe mum, I couldn't let her die, please understand me, " I said, my voice quivering, at the slight thought of what would happen to me In the future, because I don't know my future, and the pain I'll experience while trying to get the opportunity to get a slight drop of the vampire's blood.

"then what about us?" he asked with a trembling voice, I took a deep breath while trying to get s grip on myself before I said.

" you will be okay, I have told the witch to take care of you, so you will be okay, don't worry okay," I said to him, which made him nod his head before he hugged me, I hugged him back with the same intensity, I felt everything, the pain, the hurt, everything. it took a alot from me, before I let go of him, my eyes was glistening with tears.

after some time, I found myself heading towards the dimly lit forest, only the blaring light of the moon, that managed to peek through it, I stopped walking, to turned back, and look at Jordan who was still standing there.

a tear managed to stain my face before I started running into the forest, I felt slight pain as my ankle twisted, but I continued running, I have to reach the bothers before dawn, so I can get the opportunity to get a boarding pass in the ship. it was almost morning, but I was still having a long way toward the ship.

I kept on running, my heart was beating frantically, I need to reach my destination, after countless minutes of running, I stopped trying to get a to breathe, I then noticed a fountain, as water cascaded so beautiful, the water was clean and I was thirsty, so I went closer towards the fountain of the overflowing water, I dipped my head into the water before I started drinking the water as my life depended solely on it.

the water was clean and fresh, so I took out the small bottle, and refilled it with water, I felt energized, I then turned to leave only to hear a deep baritone voice. the voice brought shudders down my spine.
