SERENE’S POV
Stefan held my hand until we entered the hospital elevator. Once inside, he released my hand. He pressed the button for the top floor on the elevator's indicator.
I didn't know where he was taking me, but I didn't protest. I couldn't understand myself anymore and why I seemed to want to be with him, even for a short while. My heart was at ease when I was with him. I didn't need to pretend to be happy when he was around. Maybe it was because I had already shared everything with him, and besides Kristine, this was the only place where I felt secure.
He held my hand again as the elevator doors opened. As we stepped out, we entered another door, which he used his ID pass to unlock. Are doors this high-tech in Warlington now? I couldn't believe it, I asked myself.
