Sizwe a typical black zulu boy who was brought up in a strong Christian family, taught by the society that there is only black or white in color and nothing in between. He did what was expected from him, to be obedient, follow norm by passing at school having a girlfriend, be naughty like other boys, get a job, marry and have children. Somehow he always knew he had to strive to not raise eyebrows with Mvuyisi, his childhood friend and best friend in more ways.

Growing up in their village, these two boys were more connected to one another, attending each other's family gatherings, sleeping over at each other's homes, they were brothers. Without disappointing they both got girlfriends and Sizwe even managed to impregnate his so the two families expected they would marry to correct the shame in the eyes of the church. Worried that Sizwe was getting closer and closer to settling down with Nosipho the pregnant girl, Mvuyisi sat his best friend down by the river bank to have the most unusual talk with him.

Mvuyisi: Man need to talk

Sizwe: Sure, but why such a serious face?

Mvuyisi: You know I love you right?

***Now he was shaking***

Sizwe: Yes broer, I love you too my brother

Mvuyisi: Please don't hate me, but I don't want you to be with Nosipho..

***Interrupted by Sizwe***

Sizwe: What? Why? Is she cheating on me?

Mvuyisi: No she is not. Truth is I don't want you to be with anyone, (silence), expect me.

Sizwe: Hahaha you joking right! Be with you how?

Mvuyisi: I have feelings for you man, real feelings and I love you like I have never loved anyone else.

Sizwe: Do you mean you are... gay? No maaan stop that nonsense!

*** Sizwe stands up

Mvuyisi: I have feelings for you man, real feelings and I love you like I have never loved anyone else. Sizwe: Do you mean you are... gay? No maaan stop that nonsense! *** Sizwe stands up and walks away, leaving Mvuyisi shameful and scared he may have lost his best friend. A week then two pass without these two contacting one another*** Sizwe makes it his point to spend as much time with Nosipho but everytime they hold, he wishes she was Mvuyisi and these secret fantasies torment him in silence. *******"**** Nosipho: Baby, I have not seen Mvuyisi in a while Sizwe: So? Not sure what this means or what to do but I miss you and have been thinking a lot about you. Mvuyisi: Thinking what exactly? Sizwe: Us, you, what you said. I am sorry I reacted that way. Truth is I may be attracted to you too, but Mvuyisi: I know our village will not accept us and how do we do it? Who will be the man and who will be the woman? Mvuyisi: I don't have all the answers, but I want to find them with you *****They hold hands and give each other their first kiss, one that would open a flood of more feelings*******That first kiss took a lot to the next level as expected. Sizwe suddenly remembers the urgent reason to part and go home leaving Mvuyisi seeing nothing but stars. Sizwe: (Shaking with fear mixed with excitement, wondering if anyone saw all that happened) Mother did Dad ask for me? Mother: No Son, why do you ask? Sizwe: Just thinking, shuuu I need to rest I am not feeling well Mother: With that side smile on your face, I could swear you have won something very big Sizwe: What smile Mom hihihi(giggling a little).
