Green Eyes

Alpha Erik POV

I've never seen my Mum like this before. She won't listen to my Dad or me, and she is searching for something in her closet and keeps crying and mumbling the words Isabel.

"Dad, you need to tell me what's going on? I've never seen Mum like this before" I say. My Dad is sitting on the edge of the bed with his hands over his face.

"You need to let this go Grace, it's not your fault what happened" he calls out to Mum

"What's not her fault Dad? Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? I barked.

Suddenly, Mum comes out of her closet with a dusty box in her hands. Her eyes are bloodshot and she sits down on the ground still crying.

"Grace? I can't lose you again to this" Dad pleads. 

Mum keeps shaking her head and she's looking through photos. I go over to Mum and sit next to her and I pick up a photo from the box. It's a photo of my Mum and she barely looks 18, with Alpha James from Crescent Moon Pack and a woman who looks exactly like Sasha but with dark eyes. They're leaning against a red car and Mum is hugging the Sasha lookalike laughing. I pick up another photo and its Mum with the woman smiling at the front of the local high school. There are dozens of photos of Mum with Alpha James, Naomi's Dad- Beta Mason, and this woman.

"Her name was Isabel and she was my best friend. Alpha James, Beta Mason, Isabel, and I were inseparable, there wasn't a day we were apart. Alpha James and Isabel found out they were mates on her 18th birthday but they had been in love since they were 15. When Isabel ran to tell her parents the good news, I was with Alpha James when he told his parents. His parents had just signed a deal with the evil Grey Moon Pack, that Alpha James would marry their daughter. At that time, there were many rogue wars and many packs made alliances to survive. He was ordered to reject Isabel. Isabel and her parents walked in to celebrate and the Alpha told them that Alpha James must reject her. When Isabel tried to run so he couldn't reject her, the Alpha commanded me to stop her and I grabbed her and pinned her down. She tried to get away but I couldn't go against my Alpha. A rejection from an Alpha kills you and I let that happen. Her family was trying to save her but were all held back by guards. I will never forget the screams of Isabel and her parents" my mum is sobbing and kissing a photo of Isabel. 

"It wasn't your fault Grace. Alpha James could have gone against his father. If you went against the Alpha he would have killed you!" my Dad says wiping my mum's tears from her cheek

"I will never forgive myself. She would have fought for me if roles were reversed" she says staring at the photos

"What happened to Isabel after he rejected her?" I ask

"When Alpha James finally did it, she fell to the ground from the pain and her parents carried her home. It wasn't until the morning I heard from her brother that she had run away in the middle of the night without saying goodbye to anyone. Alpha James was never the same after that night and he tried searching for her every day, even after he got married. When I saw that she-wolf today, I really thought it was Isabel" 

I look at the photos on the floor and it really does look like her.

"Is it possible that Isabel could still be alive and that's her daughter?" I ask

"I've never heard of anyone other than Alpha blood surviving a rejection. She would have died after 6 months. It's why I can never go back to Crescent moon pack. I still have nightmares of that night. Your father has helped me try and heal from the past but after seeing her today it's brought up too many memories" she says still crying. Dad pulls her into a hug to try and comfort her. 

I pick up another photo and it is the spitting image of Sasha but without the green eyes... but Alpha James has green eyes. Could it just be a coincidence? Sasha did say at the ball that she doesn't know her father once mum asked her about her Alpha aura.

Then it hits me...

The tattoo on her finger, it's of a crescent moon
