"My lady," Katherine was sitting in the library. Ancelin was standing behind her as another maid approached the two. It had been three days since Katherine had seen Caius, and just thinking about him made her blush. "My lord has summoned you." Katherine looked up at Ancelin, the maid was frowning . "What does he want?" She asked slowly. "I don't know, my lady." Katherine sighed and closed the book she was reading. History of the Darkimyr Family, something that she surprisingly found interesting. Most of the books in the library were like that, history of someone's family, history of the Dark Realm, sword play books, etc. She would kill for some made up love story, but the Duke of Darkimir wasn't interested in love stories. Katherine followed the maid with Ancelin trailing behind, Ancelin never got far from her since she saved her from Caius's wrath. They made their way to Caius's office. The two maids waited outside the door as she entered alone. "Caius?" He motioned for her to come to him. His desk was piled high with papers, he was busy writing. "My dove," when she was at arm 's length he pulled her across his lap. Her cheeks were burning, bright red. "I have some news." He tucked her hair behind her ear. She stared at his face, studying it up close. "Your hair!" She gasped, his hair was shorter. It fell below his ear and covered his neck. She ran her fingers through his hair, it was silky smooth. "You cut your lovely hair." "Do you not like it?" He asked, tapping his fingers against the arm of the chair. "It looks nice," I liked it better longer, she didn't want to say that part out loud. "Katherine," he leaned over their cheeks touching. Grabbing a pink envelope off his desk. "This, my love, is for you." He handed her the envelope. To the Lovely Lady of Darkimir "Are you sure it's for me?" She looked at him, holding the envelope in her hands. He gave her a soft encouraging nod. "Read it." He twirled a strain of her hair around his finger as she opened the envelope to reveal a letter on flowered paper. Dear Lady Katherine, Although you have been in the Dark Realm for a short amount of time, I wanted to invite you to join me and my friends for a tea party. I would be unbelievably honored if you could join us. Sincerely yours, Lady Amalia, Marchioness of Dascalu "It's an invitation for a tea party." I feel like I'm in a period drama. "Caius." She handed him the letter. "Would you like to go?" She pressed her lips together and looked away. "Can I?" She whispered softly, a tea party would be fun. Perhaps she could meet some more people and even make friends. "Of course," he patted her on the back. She stood up, and turned to look at him. "I have business there." She couldn't help but smile as he leaned back in his chair. "But, I think it's time to get you a new wardrobe." He looked her up and down. "Perhaps you should go to the nearby village for some shopping." He grabbed his pen and started writing on the paper in front of him. "Can I?" She smiled bigger, her heart swelled up with excitement. "Of course," Caius smiled as she squealed with joy, wrapping her arms around him. "But, I will have to go with you." He warned, she quickly straightened up. "Oh." She tried not to sound so disappointed in the fact that he would attend. "We'll go after lunch," he looked up at her. "Go before you distract me more." He nodded to the door, she gave him a smile before turning to walk away. "Wait." He grabbed her wrist. "Don't forget the," he gave her the letter and stood, pulling her to him to give her a soft kiss. "It's been too long." He muttered as he let her go. She stumbled back, and with a deep blush she hurried out the room to where Ancelin had been waiting. "Ancelin you won't believe what happened." The girls head their way back to the library. "I received a letter, an invitation to a tea party." She smiled, a few maids bowed to her. The maids here had gotten used to Katherine. "That's wonderful news, my lady." Ancelin smiled. "And Caius is allowing me to go, and on top of that I get to go shopping." It's been a while since Katherine had any shopping therapy, something that she missed doing, having freedom is what she really missed. I wonder what kind of shops they have here, she thought, probably just dress shops since all the women wear dresses here. "My lady," subconsciously Katherine touched her lips. He kissed her again, it startled her but it felt nice. "Do you have a sore on your lip?" Ancelin asked. "N-no." Katherine dropped her arm, she was blushing again. "Why?" "You keep touching your lip." "I do not!" Katherine huffed and walked faster ahead of the maid. "My lady, wait!" Ancelin scrambled after her, the girls ran through the corridor. But their good mood ended when they came face to face with a strange man in front of the staircase. He was holding a sword, his eyes red and blood crazed. There was blood dripping down his chin. Bodies of maids and knights were scattered behind him. "What's this?" He purred and he strolled slowly towards the girls. Who is this man? "My lady," Ancelin gripped her arm and whimpered. "We must leave." She tugged her back towards the direction they had come from. "Where are you going?!" The man hissed, grabbing the hilt of his sword as he jumped towards the girls. A scream erupted through the manor. They fell back out the floor as a clash of metal echoed across the room. "Duke of Darkimir," the stranger sneered as Caius appeared in front of the man, protecting the girls with his sword. "Your reign ends here." He sneered. "C-Caius?" Katherine whispered, he was different then he was moments ago. It was like shadows collected around him, his eyes had changed colors to red. His face was serious. This is what a Vampire looks like.
