Act 2 scene 2

At Brenda's party,Lisa Bayer,their mother is on stage giving a speech

Lisa:........and so i would like to deeply appreciate and thank all of you for being here to celebrate my daughter's safe return,thank you ( a couple of hours later people start leaving)

Josh:mom( he calls out to lisa who is sitting beside him) i gotta get going, it's a long drive to the villa( he stands up)

Lisa: already?

Josh; yeah ( brenda walks up to them)

Brenda: wait Josh you're leaving already?

Josh: unfortunately ( he smiles and nods)

Brenda: I wanna go home with you ( she whines)

Lisa:honey you're just coming home, won't you stay at the mansion?( She asks with concern)

Brenda: come on mom please

Lisa:(she sighs ) if your brother agrees then ok

Brenda:( she turns to josh with her eyes full of expectations) josh

Josh: what about that boyfriend of yours ?

Brenda: I'm sure Larry wouldn't mind

Josh:( he rolls his eyes) fine

Brenda:yes( she claps with a smile) wait for me by the car I'll go get my stuff ( she runs out)

Lisa:(she chuckles) i wonder why she hasn't fallen of those heels yet( they laugh ,..josh kisses her on her forehead then leaves)

After Selena and Todd's dinner he walks her down to the underground parking lot

Selena:thanks a lot .. again...i really had a good time

Todd: I'm happy that you're happy ( they laugh) maybe we could do it another time

Selena: maybe we could ( she smiles then stops by her car) looks like this is my stop

Todd: i guess I'll see you at the shoot tomorrow

Selena:yeah( the driver opens the car door for her and she get in then they drive off)

Todd:(his phone rings and he answers it) how is she ( he says in a calm voice) ...okay I'll be there( he gets in his car and drives off)

The next day,at josh's house

Josh is in his room operating his phone on the bed when someone knocks on the door

Josh:who is it

Brenda:its me

Josh:its open ( he sits up and she walks in)

Brenda:its time for lunch

Josh:okay I'll be right there ( he give a simple smile)

Brenda:okay ( she walks to the door then turns back to him) josh

Josh: yeah

Brenda:does Selena know that I'm back

Josh:no i haven't told her yet,why?

Brenda:well i was wondering,maybe we could pay her a visit ( she slowly walks to him)

Josh: she's working

Brenda: I Know,i know but i just wanna surprise her

Josh: can't you surprise her when she comes back ( he raises his eyebrows)

Brenda:oh come on josh don't be a downer, where's the fun in that ( she pauses) i mean when was the last time you saw her or spoke to her

Josh: i saw her when i droped her off and i spoke to her the day before yesterday

Brenda:why not yesterday

Josh: her assistant picked up,she says she was unavailable at the moment

Brenda:And you're not bothered

Josh:no b , because i know she's working ( he emphasises on each word)

Brenda:fine then ..if you won't go with me,then I'll go alone( she stands up and walks to the door)

Josh:when do you want to go ( he says in a sharp voice and Brenda smirks)

Gabriel and the rest of the crew are moving all about trying to get Todd to open his room door after he walked in angrily this morning and slammed it shut

Gabriel: Todd, come on...ooen the door don't hurt yourself ( he says calmly by the door with the rest of the crew members and hotel workers gathered around)if you have any problems you can talk to me or anyone at that , don't lock everyone out( they start hearing sounds of glasses smashing on the wall in the room and they all panic) Todd!!( He bangs on the door)

Selena:(she walks to the door) Mr Ross ,do you mind if i try?

Gabriel:go ahead( he takes some steps back)

Selena: Todd,its Selena,look i know you're going through something tough and you feel like no one will understand but at least give someone a chance to try( she pauses) please open the door ( everyone keeps silence,then the door slowly opens and everyone stares in shock, Selena walks in and just before any other person could enter ,the door locks again) Todd,... what's going on ( she looks at him as he slouches on the bed with broken glasses around him)

Todd: she's in a coma( he manages to say)

Selena:(she looks a little confused) who

Todd: Martha( he slowly looks at her concerned face)

Selena: I'm so sorry Todd i....i ...i thought you said she was recovering

Todd: that's what the doctors said ( he pauses) Kendal is broken ( a tear drops from his eyes)

Selena:do you want to go home ( she sits besides him)

Todd:no..i can't help but feel guilty whenever i see kendal ..i don't want to see her ( he bends his head).

Selena:if it'll make you feel better,she can stay with me for a while after the shoot

Todd:thank you ( she hugs him)

Selena:I'll call room service to clean this up

Todd:no ..i don't want anyone in here

Selena:okay..then I'll help you clean it up ( she is still hugging him and patting his back)

Outside the door,they try to listen through the doors but they give up

Gabriel: okay everybody get ready for the shoot later ( they all leave)

Josh is in his home office on a phone call when Brenda walks in

Josh:okay then ,just let her know i called( he hangs up)

Brenda:who was that( she sits on the couch)

Josh: Selena's assistant

Brenda:whats the story this time

Josh:she said something came up so Selena's not there

Brenda:hmm of course ( she nods and says with sarcasm) open your eyes j.... something fishy is going on..well that or your wife is avoiding you

Josh: you're talking nonsense ( he tries to hide the curious look on his face)

Back at the site every body is setting up the stage when Todd and Selena walk in

Selena:you sure about this?

Todd:yeah i feel all better( he smiles then winks )

Selena: alright then..i hope you know your lines ( she teases and they laugh)

Gabriel: finally you guys are here( he walks up to them) are you alright todd

Todd: yeah( he nods)

Gabriel:good then you guys get dressed( they leave to the dressing room)

The filming goes smoothly and everybody goes back to their rooms

11: 47pm,... in Selena's room she is sitting on her couch ,she dails josh's number and he picks up almost immediately

Selena:hello

Josh: you've been busy ( he says witj sarcasm in his voice)

Selena:come on don't tell me angry cause i didn't pick up your call

Josh:twice in one week

Selena:well you call at the wrong times( she laughs)

Josh:did you just call me to say this?

Selena:i saw your missed calls and i thought I'd call back

Josh: so what now ,you want me appreciate that?

Selena:well yeah( someone knocks on her door)

Josh: it's almost midnight, who's knocking at your door

Selena:oh my gosh it must be the buggy man( she teases and opens the door) oh hi Todd ( she gestures for him to enter and he does)okay pretty boy,since i know you're okay and you know I'm okay ,have a great night, love you bye ( she cuts the call)

Todd:josh?

Selena:yeah , so what's up

After the call drops,josh stares at the phone blankly

Josh: Todd...................
