Brenda's back

Act 2 scene 1

(A couple seconds later josh walks out the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and another one in his hand ,drying his long hair, Selena is sitting on the bed scrolling through her phone, trying to avoid eye contact with josh,he notices and smirks)

Josh: did you want to do something in the bathroom?

Selena:um..yeah ..yeah.. I'll just..( she stands up and walks to the bathroom still avoiding eye contact with him)

Josh:selena( he sits on the bed and carries his laptop)

Selena: yeah?( She answers without turning back)

Josh: don't make it wierd( he raises his head to look at her)

Selena:(she clears her throat) yeah ( she enters inside, she walks to the mirror, looking at herself she starts laughing)

Around 6 o'clock they had thier breakfast and had the maids pack her things into the car,the driver hit the road with josh and Selena at the back of the limo

Josh: hope you called to confirm the location

Selena: yeah.......you know you didn't have to bring me

Josh:(he rests his body on the chair and closes his eyes) i know

Selena: Are you tired

Josh: no ..( he asks without opening his eyes) I'm just analysing my presentation for a meeting today

Selena:oh wait i almost forgot how wierd you are( she rolls her eyes........the rest of the ride is quite)

They arrive at the hotel at 9:15,a lot of repoters stand at the sides of the red carpet with thier mics and cameras.... Josh steps out of the car and opens Selena's door,as they walk in the cameras Start clicking...Josh is putting on a black turtle neck ,white pair of trousers and a white jacket,and a white sneaker... Selena is wearing a simple short white gown with an open toe stiletto

Selena:okay I'm here , you've also escorted me inside,..you can go now

Josh:are you kicking me out ( he raises his eyebrow )

Selena: no I'm not ( she laughs nervously) do what you want ( Gabriel walks up to them in a simple black T shirt and black shorts,a black face cap and sneakers)

Gabriel: Selena ( he walks up to her with a broad smile and hugs her) you're on time

Selena: of course (. Josh clears his throat and Selena rolls her eyes) Mr.Ross ,this is my husband josh......

Gabriel:Mr Bayer( he interrupts her) I'm honored to have you here

Selena:of course( she presses her lips together)

Josh: Gabriel Ross ( he give s a simple nod) I'll go straight to the point, i need you to listen to what I'm about to tell you carefully.....while my wife is here i don't want to hear any negative news about her, i want her to be as safe as when she came, not a bone sprained,not a skinned peeled ,and not even a strand of hair cut ...am I understood ( he says in a very serious tone)

Gabriel: of course sir ( he gulps )

Josh: ( he turns to Selena who is staring at him in shock and confusion)have fun , I'll see you soon( he kisses her on her forehead and then smirks) bye( he winks at her then leaves)

Selena:that i***t( she whispers to herself then turns back to Gabriel) sorry about that

Gabriel: don't apologize,..let me show you to your room ( he leads her to her room,its a luxury suite) i hope this is ok

Selena: of course..thank you ( she enters the room and closes the door)

A couple of days later ,josh is at his company, in a large office,most of the room is covered by a large shelf of different collection of books,there is a large tinted glass opening revealing the large well decorated balcony..to the far end of the room is another door that leads to josh's office room which looks like the exact replica of his room at home,and in the middle of the office is josh sitting behind his desk working on his laptop

Leo:(he walks in) sir your brother is here to see you(leo is josh's personal assistant)

Josh: tell him that I'm busy( he says without throwing an eye on leo)

Max: whats my business if you're busy ( he says as he barges inside in a grey tuxedo) thank you leo( he pats him on the shoulder)

Leo: of course ( he nods and leaves)

Josh: if this is about Brenda's welcoming party, I've already told you and the rest of the family that I'm not coming ( he doesn't move his eyes from the laptop)

Max: your biological younger sister just came back "safely" from Germany and you won't go to welcome her just because of your past conflict ( he walks over to josh)

Josh:she ran away from home with some guy ,in the name of love and we didn't hear from her for a whole 3 years and now she calls to say she's engaged and coming home and everybody's fine with it( he says still typing on the computer)

Max: because it's in the past and we're looking to the future

Josh: no it's because mom wants a wealthy son in law to keep the family's legacy going and dad's not here to stop her( he stops and faces max)

Max:so what if that's the case ,it doesn't matter now cause we can't change it, neither can our dead father, so we'll just have to work with it alright now get off your butt and let's go

Josh:(he stares at max for a while then exhales) fine

Max: and losen this thing( he pulls off the band holding josh's hair up) you look more attractive this way( josh chuckles and uses his hands to comb his hair arranging it)

Fade

At the filming site,the cameras are rolling,the lightens are perfect and the room is quite,selena is playing the roll of Maya Thorne,a simple maiden in a small magical village ,Maya comes in contact with the prince ,Demian Cross who is being played by Todd Sawyer

Maya: (she is in the woods waiting for someone,she hears footsteps approaching her) who's there?( She gets a little frightened)

Damian: it's me ( he walks to her and they hug each other) why did you send for me

..are you all right ( he rubs her hair with concern)

Maya: Prince Damian I'm really sorry to disturb you but..i ..i don't know if we could keep doing this ,my sister has found out and she threatens to tell the queen ,if the queen should fine out then...( She rushes her words in panic)

Damian: let her find out then , I mean we can't hide it forever,we love each other and that's all that matters now ( he holds her two hands) right?

Maya: I'm really sorry ( she pulls her hands back and looks at him with tears in her eyes ,he tries to kiss her but she runs out)

Gabriel:and cut,great work guys, that was amazing,selena wasn't kidding when she said she didn't need fake tears ( they all laugh)

Selena:well having such a great partner makes everything feel easy( she smiles at Todd)

Todd: Well thank you( he smiles back)

Gabriel: so far we only have 5 more scenes before we're done so everybody take a rest( he goes back to the screen working with the production screen , making the needed edits while everybody else walks out)

Todd:(he runs up to her just before she enters the dressing room) Selena..sorry

Selena: Todd is there any problem

Todd: no .no.i just wanted to ask you ,you know,since we've come this far with just little obstructions it's a course to celebrate,so dinner today?

Selena: josh

Josh: don't worry I know that you're married, it's just dinner,i promise ( he smiles broadly)

Selena:( she thinks for a while then nodds) ok

Josh: okay..is 8 alright with you

Selena:okay( she nods then enters the dressing room)

At Brenda's welcoming party, josh and max arrive a little late ,the party had already started

Max:look now you made us late

Josh: cause you insisted that i changed( josh is putting on a dark grey tuxedo with his hair falling to his back)

Max: it's called following the color code( they walk in)

Josh:are you sure we're at the right place , i don't recognize most of the people here( he looks confused)

Max: Brenda invited all or most of her friends here ( Brenda runs up to them in a pink slim dess and pink heels and her hair falling on her back,she is tall,slim and curved like a model ,.....she hugs them)

Brenda: Josh,max , I've missed you guys so much

Max: look at you you've grown all tall on me( he rubs her head and they laugh) don't think i won't scold you later( he puts on a serious face)

Brenda:and i definitely deserve it ( she nods then turns to josh with a smile) J?

Josh: what ( he stares at her Indifferently)

Brenda: I'm really sorry ,josh believe me out of everyone i always wanted to call you and explain everything to you ,but i couldn't ( she says sincerely)

Josh: why not , too much of a coward?( He fires back)

Max: come on big dog,you don't need to act so tough,you know you've missed her and you're happy to see her( he grabs a glass of wine from a tray as a waiter passes by with it)

Josh:(he laughs painfully facing Brenda) i thought you were dead , i sent out my men for months looking for you ,i thought you were hurt,( he chuckles holding back his tears) only to find out you ran away with some guy

Brenda:i don't know what to say josh ,i know it was very stupid and irresponsible.....and I'm truly sorry ?( a tear drops from her eyes)

Josh:( he pulls her and hugs her tightly) i hate you barbie( he chuckles)

Brenda: yeah i hate you more bully

Max:well look at that, the happy reunion,(he smiles then switches to a serious look).....you guys keep it up , I'll go find some free chicks( he walks out)

Brenda:(they release each other and she wipes her tears ) is he ever gonna change?

Josh:i doubt it( they laugh)

Brenda:(she turns to him widening her eyes as if she just remembered something) i heard that you and Selena got married

Josh: yeah we did( he nods wishing she didn't bring up the topic)

Brenda: don't give me that look,( she hits his chest)tell me all about it........

Back at Selena's hotel room ,she walk out of the bathroom in a robe and her wet hair ,going through all the cupboards,then she hears a knock on the door and groans

Selena:who is it( she opens the door and sees Rachel) come on in

Rachel: what's the problem you said it was urgent ( she says in concern as she walks in and locks the door)

Selena:yeah ,i have a dinner with Todd in half an hour ,i don't know what to wear ,dress ,shoe, nothing! , and i can't find the damn hair dryer ( she blabbs frustratedly)

Rachel:( she looks at Selena in disbelief) are you serious?

Selena: very,now please get me something to wear

Rachel:okay ( she opens her wardrobe) so what's going on with Todd

Selena: nothing it's just a dinner for celebration ( she says scattering drawers)

Rachel:the movie isn't wrapped up yet so what are you celebrating ( she asks in confusion and suspicion)

Selena: i don't know Rachel!( She graons louder) where the heck is that hair dryer

Rachel: you mean the one on the bed?( She raises an eyebrow)

Selena:(she picks it up) did i put it there?..... whatever..have you gotten a dress

Rachel: how about this one ( she raises a red slim , strapped dress)

Selena: I'm not trying to seduce anybody Rachel

Rachel:this one?( She raised another one)

Selena:(she looks at it for a while) okay , that'll do

Later at the restaurant,selena walks in wearing a long ,dark blue short dress with a lace at the top and and opening at the back ,...... a waiter walks to her at the door

Waiter:Mrs Selena, your table is right this way

Selena:(she looks a little confused and follows her to the table ,Todd is already sitting down in a white packet shirt and blue jeans, with sneakers) I'm sorry, did i keep you( she sits opposite him)

Todd:i actually just got here( he smiles)
