Chapter 11

2601 Words
Allie dragged Kyra to the middle of the dance floor and started dancing, Kyra laughed at her dance moves. “Come on dance with me!” Kyra sighed and moved closer, they lightly pressed their body’s together. “Yea you got moves!” Kyra smiled and started to dance more to the music, putting her arms up above her head and moving to the beat. Allie was doing the same, she turned her backside to Kyra and started grinding on her. Kyra’s never done anything like this, all the other packs she kept her distance or they never had gathering like this before. Her old pack Silverfangs, only had one event, The Haze. A Haze is an overpowering surge of primal instinct, where a werewolf’s desire and need to bond consume all reason. It’s an intense, uncontrollable state driven by raw emotion and animalistic hunger, heightening every sense and stripping away restraint. The Haze binds wolves in a passionate and deeply instinctual connection, fueled by the magnetic pull of fate and the need to claim and protect. That’s when Alpha Wyatt found out Kyra was a hybrid, the Haze fell on the day Kyra started puberty. Ever since he found out about Kyra he was obsessed, Kyra was stronger, faster and had less weaknesses than either species. Making her the apex predator, he would be unstoppable if he had an army of hybrids. Allie turned to Kyra , “I have to pee, I’ll be right back.” Kyra nodded, she looked around the room and saw Mr. Burka sitting at a table drinking a drink by himself. She walked over and sat with him, “Hey Mr. Burka why you by yourself?” Mr. Burka chuckled, “My mate is getting some food, how’s your evening going Kyra? Enjoying the fun?” Kyra nodded, “It’s different, I’ve never been in a pack that did anything like this.” Mr. Burka nodded, “We really are a one of a kind pack.” Kyra chuckled, “Mr. Burka, in class today you seemed to know quite a bit about hybrids. Do you have any.. theories on how one could exist?” Mr. Burkas eye light up, “Well there’s a few like if a werewolf was turned into a vampire while already pregnant, the unborn child could potentially inherit traits from both parents. This is an incredibly rare situation, as turning a werewolf into a vampire is dangerous and unstable, often resulting in death for both the werewolf and the child. But it’s impossible for a werewolf to turn into a vampire. Or genetic engineering might be used to forcefully splice werewolf and vampire DNA. This would likely result in a being with unstable traits, as their biology and energies would constantly be at odds. Then there’s theories of magic and rituals, sacrificing and incantations.” Kyra nodded her head, another dead end. “Interesting, has there ever been a hybrid?” Mr. Burka thought hard, “No not really the closest thing was a science experiment but it didn’t live more than a minute.” Kyra pressed her lips together, “Well thank you Mr. Burka, enjoy the rest of your night.” “You too!” Mr. Burka said with a smile. Kyra sighed, a slow dance song started playing. It made Kyra sad watching the couples dance together, holding each other. The sadness quickly went away when the scent of mahogany and mint filled her nose. “Want you dance?” Ryder asked in a deep husky voice, he held his hand out. Kyra looked at his hand, contemplating on accepting. She was supposed to be keeping her distance at all costs but it’s seeming to be harder than she thought. Kyra bit her lip and nodded, she slid her little hand into his. Sparks tingling up both their arms to each other’s touch, Ryder lead her to the dance floor. Ryder turned to face her and placed both hands around her waist, Kyra rest both hands on Ryders shoulders. “What do you think of the pack so far, besides picking a fight with one of the strongest families?” Ryder asked with a smirk. Kyra scoffed, “It’s nice, different but nice.” Kyra saw Amber out of the side of her eye glaring at her and Ryder dancing, her face looked like it was going to explode. Ryder noticed Kyra looking at Amber, “Don’t worry about her, she seems to have this delusional thought that I’m going to pick her as a chosen mate. That’s never going to happen.” Kyra smiled, “That’s good cause you can do so much better.” Ryder smiled, “So how did you end up getting Lycanthexia?” Kyra froze, Theodore never told her how she supposedly got the sickness. As is she didn’t really know anything about the disease, thinking quick she said the first thing that came to mind. “I got it from another person who had it. From my first pack, the Silverfangs.” Ryder looked into her eyes, Kyra can feel he was trying to subtly push his Alpha powers onto her to get the truth. Thankfully the alphas powers don’t work on her but it also made her feel bad, she didn’t want to lie to him. Ryder couldn’t tell if his powered where working on her, we was about to say something when an alarm started going off. Instinctively he pulled Kyra closer to protect her, I few guards opened the club doors. “A few vampires were seen roaming around the outside walls, we have it under control but we need everyone to return to their homes. Just as a precaution.” Yelled the giant guard Kyra saw when she first arrived. Ryder turned to Kyra, “Go home and lock your doors, everything is alright Vampires can’t get over the walls but just to be safe.” Ryder gently tucked Kyra’s hair behind her ear and gently glided his hand along her jawline. It took every fiber of his being to walk away from her, Kyra quickly walked home and locked the doors like Ryder said. Kyra texted her Uncle to make sure they were ok. Her phone pinged, Yes we are alright, are you alright? Unfortunately we can’t leave, the hospital is on lockdown until the coast is clear. Don’t worry sometimes rogue vampires wonder in the territory, nothing to be afraid of.” Kyra sighed and wrote back, Ok, I’ll just get ready for bed then. I’ll see you guys in the morning, love you. Her phone pinged again, Love you too. Kyra ran up to her room and changed into her nightgown. She felt a sudden shiver go down her spine, like someone was watching her. She slowly crept to her window facing the back yard, she saw a dark figure standing in the trees with piercing red eyes. Deep down Kyra felt a connection, the eyes quickly disappeared when they realized they were spotted. Kyra quickly ran down the stairs to the backyard, she tried sniffing the air for a scent. Kyra quickly looked around to make sure no one can see her, she walked to the forest line and took off her nightgown leaving her completely naked. She hung it on a tree branch, she took one last look around to make sure the coast was clear. She took a deep breath, Kyra started to shift effortless, almost mesmerizing in its fluidity. Her body shifts gracefully, her limbs elongating with subtle strength as a sleek coat of silver-streaked fur ripples across her skin. Her face transforms seamlessly, her features sharpening into a refined muzzle, with glowing eyes that hold a fierce, primal energy. The change feels natural, as though her human and hybrid sides are in perfect harmony, blending into a form that is both powerful and uniquely her own. She lifted her head to try and get the sent again, she found it this time but it was faint, smoked amber and roses. She ran through the forest towards the scent, she felt a pull guiding her. The scent was getting stronger, she slid to a stop when she came to a small clearing, there was a small pond with big builders scattered around. The dark figure stood with his back to Kyra, “The rumors were true, you did survive. I always had a feeling you did.” His voice was smooth, deep, and captivating, with a tone that shifts from hypnotic to cold and commanding. Kyra let out a low growl and readied her body in an attack position. The figure turned around, he had sharp, defined facial features with high cheekbones and a strong jawline. His hair is strikingly white, styled in a slightly tousled, voluminous cut. Dark crimson red piercing eyes contrast against his light hair, and his expression is intense and captivating, exuding a mysterious allure. He had porcelain smooth skin similar to Kyra’s just more white. “I’m not here to hurt you little one, I just had to see for myself. You looked just like her.” He said raising his hands in surrender, he gave a smile showing his fangs. Vampire! Kyra said in her head, but for some reason she relaxed her body and tilted her head to the side. Look like who? She thought. The mystery man smiled bigger as if he heard her thoughts, he was about to say something when a loud deep howl echoed through the woods. Kyra looked back to the woods then back to the man but he was gone. Kyra heard snapping echoing from the trees, she started to panic. If she shifted back whoever it was would see her naked, but if she stayed shifted she’ll be exposed. The cracks got louder, Kyra took a deep breath and shifted back in human form. She looked around trying to find something to cover her naked body with, nothing of course. A loud snap filled the clearing, Kyra froze and slowly turned around. Kyra’s breath hitched as the darkness at the edge of the woods shifted. Slowly, a massive black wolf emerged from the shadows, its fur shimmering under the pale moonlight, almost as if it absorbed the very light around it. The beast moved with a fluid grace, muscles rippling beneath its sleek coat as it stepped into the clearing. Its crystal blue eyes glowed with an unsettling intensity, locking onto her with a gaze that felt both possessive and predatory. Each step it took seemed deliberate, calculated—there was a power to it. Kyra could feel the air around her hum with an unspoken energy, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end, the scent of mahogany and mint filled the air. It was Ryder in his wolf form, his nose twitched as he studied Kyra’s naked body. Desire flowed Ryders body, it took every fiber in his body to control himself. But he couldn’t help but study every detail, how perfect her body looked glowing under the moonlight. He couldn’t help but notice she had little, to no body hair. Ryder couldn’t stop the low growl that escaped from his chest. Kyra’s body prickled with fear and desire, she didn’t know what to expect since a werewolf has very little control in wolf form. In wolf form the animalistic side takes more control and can be unpredictable. Ryder slowly started walking up to her, Kyra stood perfectly still. Ryders wolf was just a little over eye level with Kyra, even the other Alpha’s wolf form from other pack were no where near as massive as Ryders. Kyra’s breath shook causing her breast to jiggle a little, Ryder couldn’t help but notice. His eyes darkened with desire, he gently glided his wet nose along her neck line sniffing her to make sure she was untouched. Kyra tried to keep the little moan locked in her throat, the touch gave her goosebumps all over her body. Not to mention made her n*****s hard involuntarily, her face started to burn with embarrassment and desire. Kyra couldn’t stop the wave of heat flow from her face down her body to between her legs. Kyra went to touch Ryders fur when a loud snap filled the air, Ryder quickly turned around to the sound and stood in a defensive stance, hiding Kyra behind him. Kyra stood on her top toes and peeked over Ryders body. Another giant wolf, not nearly as big as Ryders emerged from the wood line. He was dark chestnut brown, and muscular, he sniffed the air and huffed. Ryder loosened his body a little but was still in a defensive position, Kyra could tell they were communicating. Suddenly Ryders wolf dug his claws into the ground and let out a frustrated growl, then ran back into the woods. The other wolf started walking up to Kyra, he slowly shifted back into human form. It was Gregory, he stopped studying Kyra to see if she was hurt. His body was well toned, Kyra tried not to have her eyes wonder to far. “You alright?” He asked, he just stood there nonchalant. Like they weren’t even naked. Kyra cleared her throat and nodded. Gregory studied her face, “Why are you out here all by yourself, there’s a lock down right now. You should be inside your home with the doors locked.” Kyra tried to come up with an excuse, “I know but I thought I saw something and I tried to see what it was.” Gregory gently placed a hand on the back of her shoulder and lead her out of the clearing. “But you can’t shift properly, what if a vampire did manage to get over the wall. You wouldn’t be able to defend yourself, or worse. Ryder wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if anything happened to you.” Kyra furrowed her brow, “What do you mean?” Gregory cleared his throat, “You know it’s hard for a guy to control his wolf when a young woman is in heat and very close to her 18th birthday, not to mention the full moon coming it amplifies every. Ryders a very strong Alpha but he is still a man, and your.. Well I don’t think I need to explain.” Gregory chuckled nervously. Kyra felt her cheeks flash red, they finally approached Kyra’s backyard. Kyra quickly grabbed her gown and put it on. “Now for future reference, stay inside no matter what. If you see something just call the main gate, the number is speed dialed into the phone. Ok?” Gregory said turning to the woods and shifting back into his wolf. “Ok, thank you Beta Gregory.” Gregory howled in response and ran back into the woods. Kyra walked back inside and locked the doors, she ran up to her room. Her phone pinged, seven missed calls and 15 text. “f**k” Kyra said under her breath, she quickly skimmed over the messages. She quickly replied, Sorry I fell asleep and had my phone on silent. Kyra’s phone immediately pinged back, You had us worried, we heard a vampire was close to the wall near the house. Wanted to make sure you were safe, looks like everything is clear. The guard is doing one more perimeter check, will be home with in an hour. Kyra took a deep breath Ok see you in the morning Kyra placed her phone on her night stand and crawled into bed.
