My Vampire Mate

LILA

I went upstairs to my room to shower. I turned the water on, then I got my favorite body wash, shampoo, and conditioner out of the closet. I took off my dirty clothes and put them in the hamper, then stepped into the warm shower.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I feel like I’m lost, I’ve misplaced something or I’m supposed to be doing something. This is bullshit!

I got dress in my black leggings and black oversized t-shirt. I like how it hangs down my left shoulder. I like to tie the bottom at my hip. I put on my black ballet flats and went downstairs.

I don’t plan on going anywhere, so I’m not doing my hair or makeup. I just threw my hair in a messy bun.

I went to the kitchen and got some AB+ and made myself some Avocado toast. I like to add crunchy bacon to mine. Then carried it out to the lake on the south side of the house.

I sat down on the grass under a big maple tree. It’s beautiful here, very quiet too. I ate my toast and drank my blood, I listened to the birds chirp off in the distance, I watched a squirrel in the tree, then I just closed my eyes and listened.

I laid back and watched the clouds float by. I wonder what it was like when my Mother and Father were young. They have never slept a day in their lives. They have never seen a sunrise, or a sunset.

Maybe I could do something special for them to occupy my mind for a little while. I bet Dorian and Sabina would help too.

I rushed to Dorians office. I know by now to knock. No answer. I slowly opened the door, they must have been so into what they were doing, they didn’t hear me.

Dorian was in his office chair, Sabina was on his lap. They were at least clothed, for once. They had their fangs in each other’s shoulders and there was a lot of moaning.

I backed out slowly and shut the door. “Seriously!? What is with those two?” I whispered to no one.

I went and got my video camera and headed back out to the lake. I laid there in the grass and got the squirrel playing, butterflies flying around some tall dandelions, I even got some footage of a fish jumping out of the water.

I had to run inside to get some more AB+ and pee but other then that, I stayed under the maple tree all day.

Finally, the sun began to set. My parents would be coming out soon. I got the whole event on video for them. Sunset, and sunrise, are my favorite times to be outside.

I went to the library to dig up some old photos. I found plenty but I also found a strange book. I brought it all to my room.

I picked up the book first. There was something inscribed on the front, I couldn’t read it though. It was in a very old language.

The beginning was a family tree. My Mother’s, and then my Father’s. On each tree, there was at least one name scratched out. “What does that mean?” I wondered. I set the book aside and decided to wait on the pictures for now.

I was walking down the dark, gloomy, hallway in the East Wing, when I heard commotion outside. Being a Vampire, my hearing is fantastic!

I ran to the big window at the far end of the hall. I saw my father with four of his men. The men were dragging an incredibly large, very attractive man, towards the dungeons. He had short black, spiky hair, and tattoos everywhere.

We made eye contact and I couldn’t look away! He had the most beautiful grey eyes I have ever seen. They had a faint green circle in the center, and seem to be sparking gold around the outer rim.

It’s him! I ran downstairs and went straight to my fathers office. I knocked on the door, my fathers deep voice boomed. “Enter.”

I opened the door and took a seat in front of him. “What is it my sweet Lila?” He asked me.

I thought it best to get straight to the point. “Who was that man the warriors just took to the dungeons?” I asked, then bowed my head.

“Why are you asking? It does not concern you.” He said, as he lifted my chin to look me in the eye.

“He looks familiar.” Is all I could say.

My father stood and closed the door. He turned and looked me straight in the eye, he does this when he’s controlling someone. “You will stay away from the dungeons Lila, do I make myself clear?”

I nodded my head and stood up. “I did not mean to overstep father, I understand.” As I walked out the door, I thought to myself, this is going to be dangerous.

I have watched everyone I love, find their mates, and fall in love. This man is my mate, even if he is a werewolf. He is mine!

I rushed to my brothers office. “Dorian, are you in there?” I yelled. I heard some moaning and a loud slap. “Um, I’ll come back.” I ran back to the gloomy hallway.

Why is Alpha Saba here? How do I find out without pissing my father off?!

I’ve got it! I’ll go to Heath, he’ll help me. I went back downstairs, around to the back of the house. I slipped out the side door and walked to the door in the woods that leads to the dungeons.

I found Heath near the edge of the forest, alone, thankfully. “Hey Heath, long night? What’s going on?” I asked. He shook his head and backed away a little. “I can’t tell you anything Lila, your father will kill me!”

We’ll that tells me a lot. “He’d kill you for telling me why you have Alpha Saba in the dungeon?” I questioned. .

“Please Lila, I can’t.” Heath begged. “All I will say or can say, is that it is Alpha Saba. He’s here for questioning and I don’t know anything else.” He spewed.

“Thank you for the information Heath.” I said and walked back to my brothers office.

I tapped on the door, “ are you finished? I need to talk to you.”

“Yeah, come in Lila.” Dorian said. “Sorry about earlier.”

I blushed and shrugged it off. “It’s fine, not the first time and I’m positive, not the last.”

We both laughed. “I need you to do me a favor. I need you to find out why Father has Alpha Saba in the dungeon. Please, I feel he has a very significant role here, I need to know.” It was my turn to beg.

“Lila, I’m not sure that’s such a great idea. If Father found out, he would not be happy.” My brother warned.

“I just need to know why Dorian. I think he is my mate. Father can not hurt him if he is!” I begged some more.

“Alright Lila, I will find out why he’s here. What the f**k are you going to do if he is indeed your mate? He’s a werewolf!” My brother asked.

“If he is my mate, we will have to figure it out. I don’t know yet.” I cried.

My brother hugged me and assured me that everything would work out. I left his office and went to my room.

About an hour later, there was a knock at my door. I opened it to reveal a very tired looking Dorian.

“What is wrong? Are you ok?” I asked.

“Sit Lila, we need to talk.” He very sadly said.

Shit! “Okay.” I sat on the middle cushion of my couch and grabbed a pillow to scream into.

“It is Sabastian Saba, he is a very powerful Alpha. He believes he is your mate as well.” My brother said, shaking his head.

“Oh f**k! Does Father know this?” I cried.

“Yes” Dorian said.

“Oh no! What did he say?” I asked. Dorian put his arm around my shoulder and said, “He forbid it, of course. He is not in his right mind at the moment, give him time. Alpha Sabastian is your mate, there is nothing father, or anyone can do to prevent you from being with him.”

“I hope you’re right Dorian. I want nothing more than to have what you and Sabina have. That love and connection.

Alpha Sabastian can not hurt me. He’s my mate, he wouldn’t hurt me! I think a change is needed. An alliance with the Wolves could be in order!” I tried to sound hopeful.

My brother looked at me and smiled. “I think you may be right sis.”

Dorian went back to Sabina and I decided to go see Rana.

I knocked on her door and Nicholi answered. “Ciao Lila, what can I do for you?”

I laughed and said, “is Rana around, I need to borrow her for a minute or two?”

He waived me in and called out for Rana. She walked out of the laundry room with a big smile on her face. She was tucking in her shirt.

“Not you too!” I begged.

Rana blushed and Nicholi laughed. “I’m serious. I have seen my brothers ass and Sabina’s t**s more often than I’d ever like to admit!”

They were laughing so hard, they used each other for support. “Assholes” I laughed.

“Anyway, I need to talk to you. It’s really important. Or maybe I should get both of your opinions. Ok, Alpha Saba is in the dungeon, being questioned for something.”

Rana’s eyes bulged and she chocked on her blood.

“Why does that concern you Lila?” Nicholi asked.

“Don’t freak out Nicholi.” I warned. “Well babe, Alpha Saba is Lila’s mate.” Rana explained.

“Oh shit.” Is all he said. “My sentiments exactly.” I replied.

Now the bad news. Father knows.” I said, and began to cry.
