Love Across School Halls - Episode 2 (The Valentines)

654 Words
February 2022 is approaching, and Valentine's Day is drawing near. Jake has grown closer to both Eve and Jane. Jake often plays online games with Jane, and one day, Jane suggests a change of activity. Jane: I'm getting bored of playing games. Let's do something else. Jake: Sure, what should we do to keep from getting bored? (with a smile) Eve: How about we just ask each other questions, like crushes or anything? Suddenly, Jake feels nervous, fearing that he might be asked about his feelings for someone. Lorenz approaches them. Lorenz: What are you guys up to? (jokingly) Jane: We're just going to ask each other about our crushes. Want to join, Lorenz? Lorenz: I'm in! Sounds fun. How about this? Let's play spin the bottle. Whoever the bottle points to will ask a question to someone else. Jake: Yeah, that sounds exciting. Jane: Alright, let's do it. They spin the bottle, and it's Eve who goes first. She asks about their favorite color. The questions continue until it's Lorenz's turn to spin the bottle. He looks at Jake. Lorenz: Jake, who do you have a crush on now? Jake: Huh, why are you asking that? You're not a good companion for this game. (Jake laughs) Lorenz: Just answer the question. Jane chimes in: Jane: Give us a clue, like what kind of person is she, where did you meet her? Jake: Okay, okay, I'll answer with a clue. Lorenz: Even a clue will do. Eve: Come on, Jake. Jake hesitates, unsure of what to say. Lorenz urges him on: Lorenz: Come on, what's your answer? Jake: Alright, here it is. Lorenz: Okay, what kind of person is she? Jake: Um, she's kind, quiet, and she's always in her room. And of course, she's smart. Jane: So, what's the main reason you like her or where did you start liking her? Jake: I don't know how I started liking her, to be honest. Maybe it's because of her eyes. That's why I like her. Lorenz: So, that means she's our classmate. Jake: Huh? Lorenz: You said she's quiet in her room. Jake is caught off guard, thinking of a way to maneuver out of the question. Jake: Why did you ask if it's in our room? (Hahahaha) Lorenz: You said she's quiet in her room. Maybe you meant Jane? Jake: Why would you think of Jane? Jane: Why me? Maybe it's not about our room. Maybe it's about our ABM class. Eve: Ooh, how sweet. Lorenz: So, is it someone from our ABM class? Hahaha. Jake: That's my secret, and I already gave a clue. Jake notices Jane looking at him. The recess time ends, and their last subject begins. While their subject teacher is teaching, Jake often steals glances at Jane. Whenever their eyes meet, they smile at each other. Lunch break arrives, and Jake asks Eve if he can join them for lunch. Jake: Can I join you guys for lunch? Jane: I don't want you to. Just kidding. Okay, sit here in front of us. Jake: Alright! Eve: Aren't you eating with Matt's group? Jake: There's no space there anymore. Josh calls Jake over. Josh: Hey, come on, Jake. Jake: Alright. There's no space there anymore; it's too crowded. I'll catch up next time. Josh: Alright, see you, big brother. While they're eating, Jane asks Jake if he'll join Matt's group later for a project they're working on for Valentine's Day. Jane: Jake, are you coming later? Jake: Where? Jane: To Matt's house. We're working on a project for Valentine's Day. Jake: I'm not sure. I might have something to do at home later. Eve: I have things to do at home too, unfortunately. Jane: Oh, it's just me then. Jake, you're coming, right? Jake: I'll try, hehe. Jane: You better come. Jake: Okay, I'll come. They often spend time together, and as Valentine's Day approaches, they become even closer.
